i believe they are similar to the rb20 box , not very strong
Ture? I wonder how weak they are. The reason that i'm asking is becuase it's really hard to get a R34 GTT gearbox in here and they are cost like hell........ so if the R34 RB20DE box could able to handle 180KW power, then i will be happy about that.
cheers

what are physical differences between R33/34 GTSt/GTt boxes? i thought they were pretty similar? any major difference in power handling?
Yeah i wanna to know too ay, any difference between R34 RB20DE gearbox and R34 GTT gearbox? cheers

Really need your answers mate as i'm going to convert my car to Manual soon.

i think that since it s non turbo gearbox....it will be weaker that the turbo...correct me if im wrong...
But it will fit right?
-
34 is a pull type gearbox so when you put 33 in it will be push. its just the gearbox..so if you use 33 box,you get all 33 parts needed. ie. clutch kit, slave
What about the R34 R25DE gearbox? Will it be fit on a GTT? Need you guys the advise in urgent as i saw a R34 RB25DE gearbox on net, need to make decision b4 the auction closed
cheers

i just did my conversion with a r33 gtst push type GB
i will write up a tutorial of it soon
True, aswsome mate! But how it will be fit if GTT is using pull type clutch system ay?

Hi guys no time no see, how are you all? []
Got a question on a R34 gearbox, i wonder could RB25DE gearbox able to fit on a GTT?
Because what i heard GTT is using a pull type clutch (correct me if i'm wrong), but RB25DE is using a push type clutch as well as using 6 bolt flywheel.............so if i'm thinking of a manual conversion....will that be all right?
Thanks
steve
Any bro's knows about that? cheers

Ummm doesnt that mean you cleared the tune that was on there? and your now gonna have to get it retuned?
Now the SAFC setting is back to the factory setting. And i don't want to retuned it as i already got the tuned data on my car.
The problem is even i enter the tuned data into the SAFC, there still have problem..... the engine light will pop up.
And if i use the factory setting, the TCS light and Slip light will pop up.
So i really don't know what to do ay.
By the way how long it's going to take to uninstall the whole SAFC by the garage?
cheers

did you enter in the 2 options in the ETC menu ? you might not need to.. but double check i guess..
Not quite understand what you mean by 2 options in the ETC menu bro?
Is anyone is here know how to uninstall the SAFC? Or if i bring to the car to garage and let them to do it how long it's going to take?
cheers

Hi guys need to advice please.
I got a SAFC in my car and i did a very silly thing. I just want to know the perofrmance difference between tuned SAFC and factory setting .(When i bought the car it already came with the SAFC with tuned setting)
So i press "initialize", then eveything should be back to normal/factroy setting right....then turning the ignition off & on again.
However, the TCS light and Slip light come on all the way when my car was ideling.
Then i enter the tuned data setting into the SAFC again. guess what happan? I was unable to start the car, it was started like 1 sec and then off. and the engine light was on all the way.
I wonder what's going on? Any idea guys?
Now I'm scare to drive out now as the TCS and slip light on all the way. I wonder how could the SAFC deal with the TCS?
By the way do you suspose to enter the data while the car is ideling?
cheers

can the unit be unpluged from the wiring harness? if it can, just do that.
The wire is hidden in somewhere ay. The reason i want to take it of is i found it's useless and i heard many people said it will down grade the car performance ay.
I just wondering what's the factory setting like? Because when i bought the car it already came with the SAFC.
-
I assume you are putting you car back to stock. Theres this "initialize" mode which you can select, choose that and it should all go back to factory setting. But if dont want your SAFC anymore, just get someone to take it off, easy, dont have to reset your SAFC.
Thanks man, but where i could find the initialize mode? is it under the setting mode?
p.s. my SAFC is the bule screen one, i think is the older model than SAFC II.

Hi, just wonder how do i set back the SAFC to normal setting? Because i don't want this SAFC no more, but i don't want to waste the money to let someone help me to uninstall it. Now i just want my car become standard.
Is anyone knows what's the normal or factory setting for SAFC?
cheers

I just wonder could PFC fits R34 GTT auto? The reason i'm asking is because even i shifting it manually,i felt the gearbox is not shifting/response fast enough in the high RMP.
Is any GTT auto mates has the same feeling as mine?

Repco filter not too bad, not the best one i've used is NISMO oil filter. They good man, worth to try!!

Don't qoute on me that. I've the same situation as yours b4, however after i installed the Earth ground kit and reset the ECU. Now i could get about 380-400kms per tank city driving. i think u should try to reset ur ECU first, to see how is it goes!
Hope this help

Steven - the shift kit cost me about $250 (I think) installed, and I believe MV automatics will sell them to people interstate/internationally so that you could have a local auto trans shop install it for you.
Lukits01 - I havn't changed the stall converter yet (but I have thought about it). I decided that unless my motor/turbo combination were to only come on boost higher in the rev range then it wouldnt be necessary at this stage. The shift kit made a big difference so I am not sure that I will need to look at the stall converter at the moment.
Thanks mate, do you have their web-site address that i could look at, and how did you fee the performance difference? Do you feel shift a lots quicker?
cheers

Update on the fluid change.
Finally I found a guy who had the machine to get all the fluid out of the trans. The problem is, if you use the machine you cant get the filter, gasket & the pan cleaned.
So on his recommendation I got this done first, and he put in some Castrol oil. After a few weeks I’ll go back and get the system flushed and put the RedLine Hi Temp fluid.
My pan had a shitload of some goldish sparkling stuff on the bottom of it and a 5cm piece of the dip stick – what the ****.
Why, what's the point?? Last time i did mine, the guy was flush the trans first, afterward changed the filter, and gasket. No problmes.

Hay 4door_Sleeper, how much did you pay for the shift kit? Because i'm also thinkning of get one very soon.
cheers

hi mates my car is 98 model GTT, so is my car need to recall? and if so do i need to pay for it?? I just owned that car a few months..so sad!
many thanks

Hi mate, if u ever try flush the transmission before, i think u should do one for your transmission. Because each time when u changed the transimission fuild, u only could get about 50-60% out, so there still have about 40% old fuild left in the transmission. After u put the new fuild in, may be a couple of months the fuild will get dirty again. And at the end u will end up with the transmission problem, or f**k up the transmission early.
In my opinion if u havent try it b4, U should go to the spealist transmission garage to change ur fuild, i meant the shop who has the machine to change it. By doing that u could change about 90-95% fuild out of the transmission.
After changed the fuild , u could actually feels the transmission shift better and smoother.
Hope that help.

u can always try Motul 300v competition 15W/50, it works great on my GTT. Personal better than 300v 5w/30 racing, and 300v 5w-40.
Hope that help!
