  1. 4 x stagea wheels, 16s, 225x50 tires no good, 5 bolt, forged. Been under my house for about 6 years, dirty but I'm sure will clean up well.

Free to a good home, that is if you are going to use them. Prob good skid wheels for your Silvia with a 5 bolt conversion. I don't want some scab taking them to on sell.

Available til about 3rd march 2015, prefer gone this weekend. Pick up camp hill Brisbane.

  2. Get your hands on VL starter motor - it sounds like the armateur is "poling"

What happens is, the bushes at either end flog out over time, and reach a point where, when charge is applied, the shaft kicks diagonal and jams (henc belting it sometimes knocks it loose and allows it to start spinning) By the time this has happened, usually the brushes etc will be stuffed as well so replace/rebuild is the only option

(this would show up on the consult as an ign problem because it overcooks the relay)

Thank you Stinky Rooster, i'll look into it. Any idea on the rough running thing? Wait for it...... coils? Plugs were replaced recently so probably not that, also it was having this problem before the plugs were changed, albeit far less frequently.

  3. Hey Deano, the paperclip method works fine for extracting codes. Saves trying to hunt around for a consult cable.

Thanks, paper clip method works really well - first got 12 (maf) and nothing else. Cleaned afm with brake cleaner, did test again then got 21 (ignition), tried again, 21, tried again, 21, tried again, 55 (wtf!), tried again, 21. Can anyone tell me what to do now? The car sometimes does not start, makes an electrical clickety click noise, starter motor? Hitting it with the tyre iron seems to get it to start (or it could be coincidence).

  4. Hi Guys, I am having an intermittent problem with my 99 Stagea RS. Every now and again when I start the car the engine light, slip light and traction control light all come one and the cars runs really rough. Turning the car off and starting it again sometimes fixes it, mostly doesn't though. It only happens about 50% of the time and the rest of the time it's perfect. I have had it at Mercury Motorsport (seeing as Andrew Chapman isn't around anymore) and as you would expect it was running perfectly then. I am hoping i can borrow a consult cable off someone here in Brisbane so I can plug my laptop in with the ECUtalk software when it does it and check if it throws any error codes, then I can tell the mechanic what to check. Does anyone have one up here and want to help me out?

  5. I had some bulbs out on my stagea, went to dick smith and had look at the bulbs they had there. I found some that were 12v, they were physically smaller than the originals and had yellow wires on them already which i had to remove. Even though they are smaller you can still put the little blue covers over them. Sorry for the lack of detail but it was a while ago... Point is you can get similiar bulbs from dick smith that will work with a little bit of mucking around. They have lasted for a couple of years now, no problems.

  6. I got bulbs for mine from dick smith in brisbane city, can't remember the part number but they were tiny 12v bulbs. I just took the ones out of the car into the shop and compared them. They came with wires on them already which i stripped to bare wire to put in the unit. That was about a year ago and they have been perfect ever since. If you do go ahead, the stock bulbs have little blue sleeves over them which are very fragile, try not to damage them when you take them off so you can re-use them.

  7. I took the climate control out by following alex cim's instructions, the bulbs are attached to the plastic screws with the philips head tops near the front of the climate control unit. I bought the bulbs from Dick Smith:

The top globes (light up the lcd) are cat. P 8140 12v 50mA 5mm 'grain of wheat' bulbs

The bottom globes (light up the buttons and temp control dial) are the same but shorter in overall length, DS didn't have them so I bought P 8130 12v 3mm pilot lights attached to wires, I had to strip the wires to use them, took forever and was quite tedious, but worked. These bulbs are smaller in diameter than the originals.

All of the globes have little blue covers over them which can be very carefully removed and put on the new bulbs, even on the smaller bulbs I used I could still slip them over.

The bulbs you buy are bare bulbs with wires attached to them, these wires wrap aroung the plastic screw type things which screw into the climate control unit. When you start taking it apart you work it out. I went from no lights at all to all of them working, it's like a christmas tree inside my car now.

  8. *** huge sigh of relief ***

Finally fixed mine too, I checked the plugs but it wasn't that so since I had already started I continued to take the dash apart. All that was wrong was the sensor in the dash to the left of the steering wheel wasn't plugged in, duh. I then replaced all the globes so they all work now too. Having climate control again and being able to read it at night too is so good.

  9. Cleaning out the garage...

z32 afm with plug, good condition $200,

I bought this January last year for the R33 I had at the time, never actually got around to fitting it and having the power fc tuned, so I have never used it.

    R33 series 1 ecu $30

Working fine when I took it off my car

Turbosmart vee port bov with adaptor for R33, excellent condition $130

Used this for a couple of weeks on my R33 but didn't like the noise. Also have the blanking plate for the standard bov return pipe but forgot to take a photo of it.

All located in Brisbane, will post at buyers expense.

  10. Hi, I bought my stagea so i could carry bikes again after having an r33, I can fit my downhill bike (Orange 222) in fully assembled with the seats down no worries. I put 3 people and 2 bikes in with a wheel off each easy too.

  11. yeah, its a service sticker from autobacs

can't see some of it because of the flash but it was serviced sometime in 2002 can't see the rest of the date..

looks like the battery was replaced (I can barely see the checkmark over the battery checkbox)

oh yea, and it was serviced over in Aichi-ken, Oharu town

don't worry about it, its nothing major

Thanks R32Ninja, yeah the date reads 14 05 15 which I found out means 14/05/2003 (15th year of Sensei emporer or something). The thing I really want to know is whether the odometer reading is "serviced on" or "next service due".

    Cheers

  12. Can anyone tranlate this for me?

It's a service sticker I found under the bonnet of my Stagea. So far I think it's for the automatic transmission and maybe serviced on 14/05/2003.

Can anyone tell me the rest?

    Thanks, Dean
