so for some unknown reason I wanted to own a skyline as a daily once again and re-live my youth, I had a very tight budget and the cheapest turboed skylines around seemed to be R33 gts-t's, not really my favorite model but hopefully I can make something nice out of it..
the first R33 I bought was the cheapest one in the state at the time, I rushed into it and hardly looked at it and threw them the money and drove it 600kms home, it had a lot of issues that needed to be fixed and had clearly seen some abuse in its time
once I got it home I put it up on stands straight away and started inspecting everything, upon inspection it was found that all of the VIN plates were missing...import plates, vin number grinded off the chassis, ignition barrel had also been swapped at some point, cracks in front control arms, blown out shocks all round, all bushed flogged out and chassis rail looked like an 80's hip hop song....M.C f**kin hammered.
I went to the police station had them inspect the car, run the rego papers that I had, check engine numbers etc, turned out that the car had been stolen previously and then recovered and returned to its owners who then sold it on to mentally disabled me...
they stated that the car would have to go to regency and be "re-plated" but they doubted that it would even be possible and the car may have to be taken off the road for good...

so I started searching for a rolling shell, there comes my next purchase, I found a clean shell that had been resprayed, not the greatest paint job but much better condition of a shell then my current car and plus it was all legit, which isn't completely necessary..."BUT IT HELPS"
so here is the real start of my journey, I had one week to swap everything from one car to another, get it all running and fix every dam issue with it. otherwise I would not have a car to be able to drive to work.

Has been a while since my last update,
have recently aquired an rb25 box brand new,
ive also had my diff rebuilt with 4.11 pintara gears,
also bought but not yet installed a new speedo and pinion due to new geatbox not coming with one.
Bought and installed a new hydro handbrake mount and BMC stopper from RB factory.
And bought a solid tube and fittings to bypass the old heater lines from the back of the thermostat to the back of the block
Also took the car out for a spin to the local show n shine, got a day permit for the car, was good to get a feel for things again but was very limited to how hard i could drive the car on the street, all in all was a fun day -

Nitto crank collar
Nitto high compression custom pistons
ACL Race bearings - mains / connecting rods
ACL Race ProSeal engine gasket kit
Brian crower 1mm oversize valves
Ross metal jacket balancer with cam / crank trigger kit
N1 water pump
Nismo low temp thermostat
Oil restrictorsCamtech RB26 camshafts
Camtech valve springs and titanium retainer kit
Custom made ITB setup
XSpurt injectors
Heavily ported cylinder head
Link G4 Storm ECU
Genuine Nissan front / rear seals, idler and tensioner
Custom Gates beltIGN-1A race coils
Have had some issues with oil going to the head at high RPM, nitto head drain is now installed also a vent from the sump to the top of the catch can, restrictors in head etc, also the original ASR sump I fitted to the car was for a VL which fouled on my front swaybar.
Future plans-
Over the next couple of weeks the motor will be coming out again to replace with correct sump.
tidy up a lot of wiring in the interior of the car.
pretty much just tidy everything up and check right over the car and get it ready for skyline nationals at the end of October.
-
don't really have any progress, just a to do list
motor out and install nitto head drain.
take a spring out of the nitto oil pump.
fabricate catch can.
repair auto spoiler.
piss off all wiring in the bay while the motor is out and fill in all holes and re-spray.
Ive since had the exhaust re-done which is pretty much a straight through 2.5" mandrel bent setup, need to fab up some nice twin tip tailpipes/blastpipes.
pulled all the aircon out of the interior and all of the sterio.
make it a race car....

Hope you guys like it.

Dyno sheet - Mild Tune (will push it a bit later when its proven to be all well)
Engine torque is that divided by the diff ratio. 3.7 in this case
Annnd its on a hub Dyno hence the power curve "interuptions", if it was on a roller it would be smooth as silk. -
Not sure if this will work for most of you

Waiting for my go pro to be returned that I left at my friends place while I picked the car up so I can upload the video properly

That was just 98, E85 actually didn't make any more power but the car sounded a lot nicer, sounded smoother through the rev range aswell. which I was sort of disappointed by but in an NA build all gains are very minimal.
-
yeah mate 167.6 down the bottom
did end up making 170 odd by the end of the day, although I need to adjust the cam timing to get a few more revs out of her and upgrade the cat back exhaust, also tempted to get the throttle body's enlarged and sealed properly, one has a slight leak on idle causing a very minor miss, pretty sure EFI hardware will do that for me.

this wasn't the final dyno run either, ended up getting 176kw from memory and a few more revs, but close enough haha

Here is a photo of her in, heard her run for the first time today, I do have a video of it on my phone, will figure out how to get it onto here, tuning tomorrow, will try and get some video footage and decent non-phone photos sometime aswell.
