  1. A friend of mine managed to get hold of a cheap FMI for his R33. The thing is its naturally aspirated.

He installed it and now reckons hes gained some power.

Personally I think hes full of crap becuase the motors Vacuum wouldnt be enough to pull air through the intercooler properly and just create huge amounts of lag?

Obviously it needs to be on a dyno, seeing as he cant afford it can I get a professional opinion on this?? sounds a bit sus to me haha!

    Thanks, Dave

  2. Hi guys, got a full pioneer system installed yesterday, deck amp sub back and fronts..was working fine. Jumped in the car last night and nothing, head unit doesnt even turn on. i have checked ALL fuses that have anything to do with the stereo, i have tesed with a multimeter at the amp and have 12 volts there, but the light isnt on. tested the amp fuses, mains audio fuse..all fine. Any ideas?? being a public holiday i cant get a hold of the company that put it in until tomorow..

Any help would be great guys, driving to the city later today and want some music lol.

    Cheers.

    Sorry to hear, PM sent.

  5. Sent Jacob through the pipes, he got deaded.

    Used Miranda as team leader.

Sent the crew back by themselves, mwuhahaha all died.

    Used Jack as my biotic.

Final team was Thane and Garrus.

Mordrin died on escape, I blew the place to the shithouse.

I loved every minute of it. f**king awesome game.

    Agreed!!, brilliant game!

  6. I used Kwik Grip but it was the paste version. I'll remember the liquid version if I need to glue the carpet again. Cheers!!

Sure no worries.. The important thing is to wait a bit after applying otherwise it will never stick.. if you do it properly though it will last forever!

Have fun with your new Doof in the time being :)

  7. Ive always used a simple contact adhesive. even in the factory I worked in for a little while we used contact adhesive. just something like kwik grip. I prefere the liquid form as the paste is rather difficult to spread and can leave lumps.

simply apply a layer to the box. wait a little while.. a good trick is to use the hair on the back of your hand. if your hair sticks way too much then its too early.. if it only pulls a little bit then it should be fine.. ussually about 120seconds is fine.. after then quickly apply a layer to the carpet and gently rub the carpet onto the box..(it soaks into the carpet so you dont need to wait as long)

Contact adhesive is a self clamping glue so you dont need to press hard or anything.

So yeah if it starts to peel or something just use a bit of that.. I thinks its like 12$ for a small tin at bunnings or something.. (will last for ages though)

Looks good though, nice work for first time :)

  8. You can hear a difference with the silent garage ,engine off, and the right source material(not some crappy MP3), and kick ass speakers.

but most won't hear the distortion over the wind, engine noise till the voice coils melt and they wonder why the speaker won't play or the amp shuts down to protect itself from a dead short.even made in china amps can be very clean THD but get nasty harmonics when pushed

Yeah your totaly right!, I have to admit im a bit too anal about sound quality than most.

  9. I was hanging out for this game for AGERS. now my PS3 has YLOD!!!! stupid piece of junk. its like a giant paperweight now... Anyone know of a place that can fix it for under 250$?? 250$ is what playstation charges isnt it?

    Btw in WA

  11. Hello All,

Passed ME2 the other day, Considering the game is so extremely open ended I thought it would be interesting to post up who survived and who didnt and how you tackled the end section?

I kept the space station, but killed the Reaper.

The only crew member that survived from the collectors was the doctor.

Tali died, Miranda died, The Krogan died, Legion Died, The Scientist Died, The assisan Died.

My ship is now empty as buggery. Kinda Funny!

Planning on going through the first one again as a real Badass!

Going to see how many I can get to survive second time round

    Thanks, Dave

  12. wool doesnt sound good, the weave is too tight, they used it on some home speakers back in the day as a gimick

hot glue falls off if applied in a dusty box or vibration

staples can rust, and vibrate out, or even create a sound of there own , like a tuning fork? stick with spray glue or contact cement

Guess I wont try it then, never had any rust or fall off, as I use stainless staples from a compressed gun. contact cement does work good!, some people cant stand the smell so I suggested hot glue as an alternative, provided the surface is clean it shouldnt be a problem.

  13. no US car does this. the point you are trying to make is IGN locking. not disabling the locking system.

you may wish to stick to your own target market. :)

judging by previous posts you seem to think you know a thing or two when it is somewhat apparent you do not. stick around and read a bit more before posting, there are a LOT of people here with 15+ yrs experience :(

No need to be an asshole, Im an automotive electrician just like you I have my certificate. only trying to help people, its rather obvious your territorial.

  14. Saphire:

Despite RCAs being shielded, they can stil intercept inteference.. like a stereo I put in last week, we had no choice to route them past the ecu, so we needed a ground loop isolater just to help with that little bit of interference it was picking up.

besides its not like its an 100$ item, if you can get rid of a little hissing for a measly 10$, why not. I know some people that porpously have the input gain set high and use a loop isolater to dial out interference just to get a clearer sound.

    Jack:

I can tell the difference between 0.1%THD and 0.01%THD, but I listen for that as ive been instaling for a few years now. but I agree not many people can. especially the older you get.
