  1. Thanks for the info Mike.

I haven't been able to rack much km's on the car as I travelled overseas the very next day of picking it up and not returning till next week. I'll likely follow the recommendations similar to you and give it squirts here and there.

Yes it is my first GTR. Had a modded R33 GTS 25T some years ago and also drive a 370gt sedan. I've wanted a GTR since the R33 was released.

  2. Hi all

I picked up an R35 last Friday. For the first 500km it says not to rev past 3500rpm and keep in comfort.

Then it can be opened up a bit more, but still left in comfort, and to keep revs below 4500rpm for another 1500km.

How many of you kept to this? Any issues with Nissan at the first 2000km service if you had not?

Looking forward to meeting up with other owners and start getting into track days.

(Also I would highly recommend Simon at Col Crawford at Brookvale and Charles who does the financial side of things there. I could not have been happier with the service).

    Cheers Oz

  3. I guess the price for the R36 GTR (if exist) should be around AUD$267,000.00!

I hope that if the last version of the R35 GTR can use Hybrid System before R36 GTR, so we still have a chance to DIY modify our old R35 GTRs to update spec.

Once in a life time! In your garage! One BNR32 GT-R and one R35 GTR is enough to have fun!

+1. Wouldn't be affordable if it made that much HP. The GTR isn't competing against likes of 918s or P1's. Its in the class with Porsche GT3s and Turbo's.

Also wouldn't look good for anyone who ordered a Nismo R35.

  4. Cole Crawford had a gun metal grey R35 a few months ago and have had nothing as far as I'm aware in the showroom for months. I have to say the gunmetal colour has become my favourite after seeing its at Crawfords.

Blisc, I've also gone over to campbelltown. They had 3 R35s a months or so back. I could imagine they get a lot of dreamers coming in, so you really need to dictate the terms. I would tell them I have the money and will buy the car today if the car price is dropped to $x amount. If they don't, then just walk away. Or get it transported from interstate where the prices appear to be more competitive.

I'm waiting for the 2014 to hit showrooms.Good luck on the future purchase.

  5. They're far from useless cars, just in stock form they are nothing on a GT-R on a racetrack, and only a wanker would try to draw a comparison. If you want to go down that route, you have to compare to the ZR1 Corvette (incidentally the ZR1 is a faster car than the R35 lol), or ZL1 Camaro (which the VF GTS has the same drivetrain as) which are actually positioned as R35 level cars rather than Commodores. Also note that both are using PD superchargers ;)

It's also why I keep saying that the real alternative to an R35 is only the VF GTS due to it having the advanced drivetrain and brakes over the lesser models.

I took the new VF HSV R8 (340kw) for a test drive and its a very capable car for a large sedan. It's quick enough. It also got a lot of attention.

The exhaust sounds excellent. It has presence externally and is a great place to be inside.

The VF GTS should do low 4s 0-100 and I reckon a 12.3 1/4 mile. I would not be suprised if it gets Motors car of the year, if basing it on the R8 is anything to go by.

  6. Check out Curt hitches in US ebay, thats where i got mine from. Sad to do it on a skyline but had to be done. I use it to purely carry my bikes around.. it doesn't look too bad when the ball etc is not fitted.

Thanks for this. I'm only going to use it for my bike as well. The thule bike rack I've got is the square one and no the ball type, so hopefully will sit flush and not look too bad.

Even getting a roof rack is difficult, but didn't want to do this.

  7. Just letting yall know, i work at a toyota and nissan dealership - 86 will have a supercharged trd variant in 6 months confirmed with some crazy side guard intake where the current 86 logo is and the New supra is confirmed for 2015

I'm sure the new supra would look crazy good.

    Suppose to be AWD also.

  8. Bang on Domino. Mine is an August build 2010, which I purchased in Dec 2011. It had been complianced and unregistered sitting on the showroom floor with 33kms on the clock, from Nov 2010 to when I bought it.. Magic Nissan wanted it gone to make way for a 2012, and at the time I was contemplating a 2011, but at that price I had to say YES.

It had not been registered or plated until I bought it, but I wouldn't be surprised if it had been on the track or driven a few times around the block with trade plates on it, but all I can say is that the tyres were new and she's a beauty, and was totally immaculate when it arrived at my door :D

That's a great price you got it for considering it only had 33kms. On cars sales they are selling 2010 models for a similar price but with minimum 10,000km's.

  9. Crap.. that LInk from chef is for SP model..

so they don't really hold their value considering Nissan will be selling the same thing for a LOT more than 25K come end of the year.

I dont think Infiniti will be selling the V36, only the M version.

I have a 4 dr. Bought it from IMG in Lidcombe. Was in near new condition. Doesn't seem too many 3.7L with 7spd around??

  10. I know Mazda will need to have a serious look at the pricing of the MX-5....the only sales problem I can see with the 86 will be supply out of Japan limiting numbers.

The MX-5 would appeal to a different market than the 86. Most sales probably would go to females, that like a soft top.

I can see the 86 getting pimped out like the CR-X by people in their early 20s.
