  2. Hi all,

Have Looking at buying a Cube as a Daily. Have test driven 3 of them now with the 1.4L 4 speed auto. The first one made a slight jolt between 1st and 2nd gear, thinking this was a dud, we moved on to the 2nd and finally 3rd car, but have found all 3 to act the same. Is this a fault of the transmission or just one of those 'this is how it is' things? Apart from that they are a smooth ride and an Awesome choise for a daily.

    Cheers

  4. unless youre going to the track and doing a lot of steering, then there is no point running a cooler on the power steering.

it needs to be at a particular temperature for it to operate efficiently. if you make it too cool (like a transmission or engine) then you may affect its performance.

Do you reckon it would run it too cool on a 42C day in Adelaide?? I'm just fearful, had one go on another car (Supra) years ago, cost about $1500 to fix - was not too impressed. Mechanic reckoned heat is the main cause of failure, but it doesn't seem to be an issue for the V!

Will have another poke around underneath, there must be something there.

    Cheers

  5. Hi All,

Just curious if anyone has ever had issues with their power steering on a V35 sedan?

My 300GT is going well presently, but I had considered fitting a power steering cooler of some sort, as I had a poke underneath my car and couldn't seem to see any form of cooler at all. I'm pretty sure I saw one on a mate's 350Z tucked away in the bumper though.

I want to get the fluid flushed anyway, so I'd rather get a cooler fitted now.

Any idea if the Nismo item would fit?

Or maybe just go something aftermarket?

  7. Hi All,

I want to get my 300GT sedan windows tinted shortly. Both places I've been suggest 'carbon / non metallized' tint for the rear windscreen , one however suggests it for all windows, just curious what you all do?

Reception is bad enough with these band expanders, so I don't want to make it worse at all, but seems like doing all windws in non metallized film mya be just a waste of money??

    Cheers

  8. Just spoke with NGK Australia. Although they list a LFR5AQP, they do not stock it. And they said there is no 'equivalent' plug in the range. Interesting as they also have a LFR5AP-11 plug available... would love to know what people have put in their VQ30DD motors ... and what they gapped them to?

If you do the crossreferencing like O2bfit has done, you would go:-

    NGK LFR5AQP (Platinum 4 tips) => DENSO IKH16 / VKH16 then => NGK LFR5AIX-11 (Iridiums)

the later NGK's being a fair whack cheaper... I'd pose the qn to NGK, the only difference is maybe the Iridiums would need to be changed more regulary??

Just curious, at how many km did you change plugs or recommended to change at?

    Cheers

  9. Mine does exactly the same when cold, I wouldn't be too fussed with it if gear change etc is fine.

I'll take your advice, stick it in N for a sec before D.

Best to give it 30 seconds to warm up before reversing too.

i always put it in neutral for a sec or two after being in reverse, then into drive.

I was told if you go straight from R to D, you could blow the torque converter.

  10. If you do the crossreferencing like O2bfit has done, you would go:-

  11. Got the same button on my newly arrived 300GT. Now I know what that buttons for!

I thought that it was for folding the mirrors automatically when you lock the car and was somehow 'always on' on my car. Does anyone know if you can disable the folding mirrors on locking the car? It can be useful, but not really necessary having them fold in everytime I lock the car.

  12. Hi,

I've just bought my V35 300GT and been reading this thread with interest. Performance seems about spot on, but I do think idle is maybe a tad lumpy and fuel consumption could be better, (plus I seem to be having hot start issues where it stalls unless I quickly prod the acclerator), so I suspect similar problems with intake full of gunk.

Thinking about using the Subaru / Seafoam stuff that everyone uses first just and then pulling down intake if no improvement. Just wondering do you guys not worry about all the gunk being burnt and sent through engine / exhaust / catalytic converter?? Just thought it might block it up or something and cause other issues down the track?? Might be irrelevant, don't know, just thought I'd ask...

I'll let you all know how it all goes.

    Cheers

  13. Hi all,

Just got my 300GT, absolutely love it, could someone please pm / contact me, I would love to have a copy of this Japanese Navi DVD. I haven't got my post count up to 10 yet, and not going to post nonsensical posts just to get it there.

    I'm in Adelaide.

    Cheers

  14. this SHOULD be the case. take a snap of your key barrel with the trim ring removed OR copy the key you have onto a $5 blank with your original key and try to start the car with it. make sure the original is elsewhere when you start the car. if it starts then no issue. if not the NATS unit is there. (I'm fairly sure the former is the case.)

Been interesting reading through all the info on keys / navi etc, starting to learn more about my car. I need a spare key for my 01 HV35... going back to a question from page 4 of this thread. Can you program another remote to the non NATS remote then? Replacement key will start car, but won't let me get in without setting alarm off!

Key as below..so just find one of these, replace key (i'm pretty sure you can just replace key??) and reprogram?? Has anyone done this with alarm?

  15. Hi All,

Looking for stock 17" 5 spoke sedan V35 rims, size 17x 7J +45 offset. I think these came on the M35 Stagea as well.

Not after the V35 Coupe rims, sorry.

Might be tempted by factory 16" 250GT or Stagea rims as well.

    Anyone in Adelaide by chance??

    Cheers
