  1. Hey kym No Prob at all. Il be there. Who wants to come can come :) Happy to do the same as last meet. Was a good night. Will Fireboy be there?

Hey Snipe, I'm sorry but I won't be able to attend this one.

I'm out of the country atm and will be back on the 12th of July...

Hope you guys have a good one.

  2. Hi Eric,

yes the wing is massive but it is CFD tested by Scott Beeton. The plates (we will have spares) will be trimmed and tuned at the track test days. the front canards really arent a true representation of what they will look like as they are quite intricate and indeed also quite large.

the front carbon bumper is down in sydney with the carbon fabricators getting the pieces made and a fair amount of work will be involved in getting the front wings to secure to the car given the levels of downforce applied to them and the larger front splitter.

the exhaust will acually only be a single exit. it is for weight savings and reduced resistance/increased flow

Ah!! ok. Thanks for filling me up with so much infothumbsup.gif

  3. Great night it was.

A new guy name David (if i recall correctly) in a R32 came along too. Was a nice guy to talk to. Although the red light at pacific fair separated us, I still hope you have enjoy the night before that break up.

Thanks kym for getting us a good spot for coffee this time!

    See you guys next month!!

  4. Personally, I think it was a great run for the night.

However, everyone got a different definition for the word "fun" and so I think we should just keep it to our self.

The night have pass and so should we. Just hope there's a better experience for everyone on the next meetup.

  5. The quality of work and results achieved by Mercury Motorsport on your car, is the primary reason I have been inspired to start modifying my car.

    ^ +1

When i first got my r35, i didn't want to have any mods on it.

But after reading your first build post on your r35, i've changed my mind and decided to give it a try.

Really excited to see the end result for this one.

  6. Hi guys

    OK!

McIntosh Island is the Park between Surfers Paradise and Main Beach, right near the beach between the Gold Coast Highway and Marine Parade.

The Pit Lane Car Park is the main carpark alongside the Gold Coast Highway opposite Paradise Waters.

If you look up 'Paradise Waters' you will see the intersection that takes you into Paradise Waters is the same that is linked to the Pit Lanes on the opposite side.

Just had a thought. If you know the BIG Purple and Maroon Highrise in the front of Paradise Waters, the car park is directly opposite.

More thoughts. If you are coming from the North through Souhport, drive over the Southport bridge keep heading towards Surfers, When you see the BIG purple and Maroon Higrise on the right, look left, the Pit Lane car park entry is coming up!

Official meet time is the first Saturday night of EVERY MONTH. With our first being next SATURDAY, the 7th of May - 9.00pm. If you are a little earlier, no problem!

IF THE POLICE ATTEND, TELL THEM WE ARE ALL PART OF THE NEW GOLD COAST GTR CLUB AND WILL BE VERY WELL BEHAVED!!!!!

The agenda is as per previous posts.

It is an ALL generations GTR Event, however all lovers of GTR's with any other type of performance car, are more than welcome to join in for the meet and the cruise!

REMEMBER! ABSOLUTELY NO HOONING OR EXCESSIVE NOISE IN OR AROUND THE PIT LANE CAR PARK AREA!

We want to be able to use it every month!

    Kymbo.

    Hey Kym,

I think i might be there on Saturday. Got an early ticket to get back to Aus on Friday :D

Can't wait to see all of you guys over there that night!

    Eric

  7. ill do injectors, pumps and bovs/ic piping before then......in a few months

from what i've read on the nagtroc, with an update of the full exhaust system (down pipe, mid pipe, exhaust) + fuel injectors (750cc min) + inter cooler + cobb you can reach 600 engine horse power.

Not sure how they've tune their car though.

doing things in stages is more fun

totally agree with this. Gonna enjoy + get use to my current speed before asking for more :D

  8. is it holding 17 psi right to redline though? or just peak 17psi?

kymbo what was the cost for the catted downpipes? im assuming mercury are using aam's catted downpipes

any vibrations at certain revs when cold, any droning coming up through the console inside the cabin etc? ive had mixed experiences with high flow cats on my cars, some have worked flawlessly, some havent

ive ditched the cats + resonators for a straight through mid-pipe and not sure how much more i can push my luck without running into issues

domino, the guys at mercury fabricates their own downpipes. My r35 uses their downpipes and i think it's great.

When i got my downpipe install, i got it install with the y-pipes and exhaust pipes. At first the droning was kinda loud.

After driving for a while, the droning sound wasn't that loud anymore, instead it becomes a nicer sound to listen to while driving.

Best suggestion is to talk to Trent @ mercury. He should be able to answer all of your question :D

  9. Unfortunatley yes :(

Yes unfortunately some tracks have noise restrictions, Lakeside is one of them Eric.

Went there last week with the stock exhaust on because of it.

Noise restriction and fast car.... i don't see where this is going...>_<

But Mark, I've listen to the sound of your car once at Mercury, and that just sounds like a machine gun with unlimited rounds of bullets.:worship:

Would love to listen it going through a raceway someday
