  1. hey everyone i spoke to gcg today and they claim that if i run -6 water lines to a ball bearing gt42r that the water is just gonna boil instantly once it hits the turbo and that it will lift my water temps etc running smaller then -8 lines. yet i find ppl on the net selling -6 water fittings specifically for 42 45r etc.

has any one got any info on them for me.

the only reason i wanna use -6 is because im upgrading turbos and i was going to reuse my water lines?

  2. "he is getting a gtr rear hubs and diff fitted to it", so he isn't changing the cradle?

    If so, there is a long list of issues;

    Driveshafts won't bolt up

    Tailshaft won't bolt up

    Shocks won't bolt up

    Wheel bearings are different

Rear brake lines and hoses are different

If he is changing the cradle then he will have clearance problems as the GTR rear cradle is wider. So the rear swaybar won't fit either.

Nissan didn't want people doing this, so they designed in lots of difficulties.

    Cheers

    Gary

really because i was informed there a direct bolt in item just gotta use the complete rear end from top to bottom

  3. depends on the housing you have. i have a t04z and it noses over at about 7650 and by 8 its dropping off fairly quick. difference i have cams/gears head work a 2.8lt bottom end blah blah. cam gear would defo help u can set it to come on earlier. and rev it to 8 it will be fine just dont bounce of the limiter. a mate of mine here has a standard gtr engine with just a set of cams gear and 2540's and revs it to 9 all day. once again just dont bounce it off the limter.

  4. FREAKIN AWESOME BUILD! Really appreciate you sharing your photos with us, but i just have one request, are you able to organise them into an order which is closer to the actual build process? Sorry, i dont mean to complain but it seems as if the photos are all over the place. Maybe its just me!

in reference to the quote below, (my quote button doesnt seem to be working)

"The plenumn...they kept stressing about the alloy being to thin and would bulge or deform but once it was on that was thrown out the door. They are quite thinner than Jun plenumn. Also the standard stud mounts were too long and they thought should have been addressed with the plenumn build."

They are absolutely right. I have seen the one on Godzillas drag car and it has bulged/ballooned way out of shape. This may well be because of the amount of boost that is run. not to say that the hypertune is a bad product but i guess thats probably why jun/endless etc charge what they charge.

    Keep the pics coming!

and you think 2200 for a hypertune is not much money or sumthing.... :ermm:

  5. the man asked a question on any other places to look to get ideas on the modification i dont see where he asked for ur opinions on the matter.

the only thing i can say is its alot of work but its doable start looking for the people who have done it to the vl's and id say ur somewhat on your way to figuring out whether its viable/in ur price range, or not

but as everyone said BUILD THREAD plz

  6. ive got a tomei 2.8lt 270deg cams but as of yet havent touched tomei cam gears, with a garret t04z .81 single entry and i see full boost by 4500 and thats 24psi. ive made 630rwhp with this turbo on that boost and do it day in day out loves it.

  7. it can also come down to the tune. because of the cold start function with the coolant temp sensor the car is given more fuel when cold until it warms up basically a choke setup, then it is given the correct amount when warm. also with the idle air bypass valves they get dirty over time and dont idle at the correct speeds etc all just comes down to wear and tear. u dont drive ur car cold for very long neways so harden up wait till its hot and give it hell. my 2 cents

  8. ok kool the only problem is i wanna go with 10 inch rims but im unsure of wat offset they are so i cant get sumthing to match. ive got an r33 gtst. now correct me if im wrong but i think ill have + offset but all they list is - offset. unless they make custom wheels i cant see how these will work. the ones i want list 15x10 -44mm offset they wont work will they
