  1. "Fine Motor Control" in the left foot I agree, will require training; especially when one is right-handed and have been used to operating both accelerator and brake with the right foot. The former reason above applies since if you're right-handed, you'll be right-footed too (ie left hemisphere of the brain). Some people may never grasp "fine motor control " of the left foot if they're too right-hand dominant.

All those years ago, I did ask Mark if that woman was right or left handed. But alas, I can't recall the answer.

So what does it mean if your naturally right handed and left footed I have been since day I could walk/ kick a ball.

    ^this!

had one for a year or two now i live in a dodge area where ive already had one r33 stolen and my brother had his ke70 stolen (luckily he got it back as it was used in a ram raid and dumped) anyway as far as im aware these are the ONLY steering lock in uk to be approved by insurers. now for anyone whos had insurance in the uk they will know this is a big deal as car insurance in the uk is legalised crime. one quote i received when iwas 19 and wanted insurance for a 1.2l renault clio was $16k.......

and no i dont sell these :P

  3. my 32 ate 2 bosch pumps, some debris in the fuel kiled one randomly, usual noisy symptoms, surging ect.replaced it and all was fine for a bit then that one went too. i had miniscule particles in the fuel, took the tank out and had it cleaned, new pump (different brand) and all was well.i couldnt even see anything on the mesh but its the tiny bits that got into the pump. kills them fast. be wary of sticking another pump in, what killed it last time may take another out. check your fuel and tank, at least flush it, all new fuel, new fuel filter too.

See my post above I reckon changing to a different brand was the main factor in fixing your problem .I've been through 2 and my tank was cleaned when second one went in 1 year 8-10k later loud noise and death. seeing as quite a few people have been through multiple Bosch pumps I think they need to redesign their filter as even a bit if contamination seems to fark em.

  4. No worries mate. Also something else to consider - Due to the walbro being smaller and having a 45deg filter sock, it will fit a lot nicer into the cavity of the fuel tank allowing pick up a little further down the tank than what the bosch pumps permit. I've always commended bosch for having quality products but this time round, I can definitely say for an R33 Skyline application - Walbro > Bosch.

    This!!!!

I've just had a report back from Bosch they say my failed pump has had contaminated fuel through it and that is why it has failed this is my second unit inside 2 years and I've now gone to Walbro as it seems Bosch pumps can't take a bit of contaminated fuel maybe they should be race use only?

  5. hey guys just wondering what oil weight you would recommend for a fully built rb25 its oil change time and i was gonna go with redline 15-40w i have been using castrol edge titanium 10w60 but someone suggested this isnt a good weight for goldcoast during summer? i know this has probably been covered in the previous 152 pages but i dont have time to trawl and ive done a few searches but not really answered my question. so i thought i would get some opinions

    anyways cheers for any replies

Edit: i should add it is daily driven (not very far a lazy 10 min drive) and if it were ever to go to a trackday i would change to something recommended for the track.

  6. hi all having fuel pump problems again my 040 in tank pump has started being really noisy hot or cold and wont pass 15 psi boost this will eventually drop off more and pump will die. (this is what happened last time)

    http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/414906-got-the-buzzing-fuel-pump-problem-r33-gtst/

its barely a year old, ive spoken to the mechanic that fitted the last one and the tank wasnt dirty and ive never run the tank below a qtr. the day it failed ( i noticed the noise) was stinking hot but i only drove it for 15 mins and the fuel was up near half way.

i guess my question is why are these pumps failing? i thought of bosch as a good brand but i will be switching to walbro now as im not spending $300 a year on pumps.

(also i believe there was another sau member who was chewing through bosch pumps and never had a problem after going walbro)

anyways thanks for any feedback or suggestions.

  7. Hi power's got my business now after Dan's shut. Another one I would try is 101 motorsport.

For tuning I've got Gavin Wood but I've only ever tuned the car once and never had any problem with it. Despite the number of people telling me how rich the car smell, the consumption is exactly the same as before tune with more power and response. 450-500km or 7km/L per tank easy.

gavin uses matty spry at PITS now (not sure about in the past)

  8. paid 15k for mine worth every cent (s2 r33gtst) came with a list of engine mods a mile long (cams/rods/pistons etc),gt35r, twin plate billet clutch, suspension, brakes, volk/rays mags the list go's on. no mods were older than 30,000k

if id bought a stock car and then the parts new id probaly be looking at 50k.

but yeah i had to have patience and probably looked at around 15 cars (nearly all of em needed some sort of work done) before finding mine.

  9. running bosch 040 and have never run tank below qtr (always use bp 98 as that was what it was tuned for) was running just fine on full boost making 320rwkw @21psi. was driving to a mates on a cool night went to give it a hit in second and it didnt wanna boost past 15-17 psi then the next day i noticed the fuel pump noise and its progressively got worse, today it just about drove, anything over 5% throttle and it started dying. it doesnt matter how hot/cool the noise is still there.

incidentally was thinking of going walbro but someone suggested i would need a retune is this true? (running a power fc)

  10. Hi Scott thanks for reply.

the car was virtually undrivable today(very hot today on G.C), the reason i thought crap in fuel pump was because the buzzing started at exactly the same time as the boost problem (also it first happened at night it was pretty cool night aswell).

i just had a look at fuel pressure which was sitting on 40psi at idle i gave the throttle cable a good tug but pressure didnt move (in fact it looked like it went back just a tiny bit) . as for leaks i cant smell anything but havnt had a good look at lines. also when i first turn on ignition it sounds like its struggling to prime lines.

ok just spoke to my mechanic he reckons either fuel pump has packed it in or ive got a rusty tank (or both). im gonna pull the pump now and see if the bottom is rusty, if not im just gonna go with a new fuel pump.

fyi no idea how long these pumps last but it was in the car when i bought it so is probaly at least 30,000ks old (thats how long ago the motor was built).

thanks in advance for anymore feedback fella's.

  11. Hi all i know this has been covered before but i have a couple of questions.

my problem is my car has just developed the loud buzzing noise from the fuel pump, and doesnt get to full boost. it runs 300rwhp on the lowest setting 14psi so it asks for a fair bit of fuel. (should add ive never let tank below qtr full)

its currently my daily and ive still been driving it to work (off boost obviously about a 10 min trip) which seems fine doesnt seem to be a problem or seem like its running lean is this relatively safe?

also a guy i know with another 33 reckons theres a drain valve for the tank. so could i just undo this and flush crap out of tank? would rather not have to take out tank.

    thanks for any feedback guys.
