  3. Hate to say it - but I know what I was like in my 87 Pintara Wagon when I was 18 - I dont really like pondering certain outcomes if I had 200kw at the rear wheels at my disposal and a confidence to skill ratio way out of balance.....

P Plate Training is not the only solution - power to weight ratio surely has to be just as important ...

    Tragic none the less.

  4. OK thats a start - I run OK RCA's but nothing flash. The amp is a Jaycar Response 4ch (New). The leads run from HU left and along the passenger side of the car into the boot where the amp is on a nice shelf next to the battery which I spent ages making. The AMP is earthed to the same -'ve terminal as the battery ie that piece of metal with two nuts attaching it to the chassis. The +'ve lead rund from the battery no longer than 1ft to the amp. All power cables are as thick as my little finger (about 1cm ish).

    Suggestions?

  5. OK Boys I have a problem,

I just installed a Response 4ch and a Pioneer DEH-P5550MP and all is sweet until I turn the engine on a and get alternator noise....

I tried putting a Dick Smith capacitator on the alternator but it didn't work!

Pleas help - I have a six hour trip next w/end and dont want to listen to that damn whine....

  6. Guys,

I'm getting a vague kinda feeling in my power steering as mentioned above. It feels as if though when I turn into a sweeping corner and if I need to make a small correction I can move the wheel a few cms before getting feedback. It is as if though there is air in the lines or something - it just feels notchy.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I also notice it when Im standing still and if I move the steering wheel left and right relatively quickly I get the same notchy feeling!!! I friggen hate it!

  7. Good work lads - can't wait to cut my hand in several places trying to get the suckers out!

Can you get those 'white' phillips lights from anywhere normal. It would be nice to change those stock parker bulbs they look almost orange !!!!

I was thinking about new headlights as well - add a little more white to them ;) Any tips about where from and how much to spend?
