    Very, Very Unfortunate News...

    A small note on this. Gerard entered most, if not all, of our events, and many others outside the club. He was a good driver who was involved in an accident. There is no amount of training that will prepare you for something like this.

    Precisely what I was telling my colleagues. He really was a skilled, educated and responsible driver. It just goes to show an accident can happen to anyone.

    Hi all,

    I've been working on a car blog all about cars and the enjoyment of throwing them around corners. I've got a few regular sections going like car porn, tips & tricks, rants and my latest being tracks & roads where I overview racetracks and b roads mixed in with an interview of a regular at the track. The first one was just published and it features Chris (evil_weevil - a NSW Exec) who was very accommodating and insightful. The track chosen was Oran Park. Check out his interview here:

    I've got another interview in the works now and that features Phillip Island and anther MX5 racer but you'll have to wait and see who that is when it's finished. :)

    Would appreciate your feedback on all this as I'm totally noob but giving it a go. It's all a bit of fun and I'm enjoying blogging even though I haven't had a single comment. haha. I intend to try to cover some overseas tracks in the coming months but thought it's best to start locally to work out a suitable template before I approach foreigners. In a way evil_weevil is my guinea cop. :lol:

    and let me tell you a little story of how friendly the community was back then. you went and met a guy over the internet who took you for a spin in his car. along the way a skyline drives next to you. you look at each other and pull up at the next car park to talk for an hour. skylines were rare, expensive and importing one was f'ing hard but finding a friend was easy.

    i burned some of his leg hair the other day and yesterday i got the idea of burning some of that chin shit off. well, let's say that Ash, the cutest friendliest little bear there ever was, got very touchy and mean very quickly.

    good on you Jimbo. i've tried quitting several times and the longest i lasted was 6 months. don't ask why i got back on them after that long. simply stupid of me. i wish you all the best with your attempt.

    yeah, very shortly after i had the shits with cars...that didn't last too long, now i'm having a very hard time just trying to not sell my golf and buy something stupid

    yep he's still got the drag car. it's getting rebuilt atm with a f**k off engine in it. should be an untamable animal by the time he's finished.

    my datto is going great. slowly turning it from a circuit to a drag car. went out to the drags a couple of weeks ago and i'm hooked big time.

    he's around. we just went down to melbourne last weekend and he ended up buying a track car. a '71 Torana LC. who would have thought the drag boy would go circuit ay.

    hey dave, your sig reminds me of your poor little car being written off. if i remember correctly you wrote that in shortly after when you had the shits with cars...?
