I had 257 kw using 98 fuel: 525cc XSpurt Injectors and 255 LPH Pump at 20~18 PSI.
Told my tuner I just wanted E85 and see what it can do.
Tuner said not enough fuel pumping and had to upgrade to Walbro 416 LPH .
End of the day it made 295 kw 21PSI on E85 using 525cc Injectors at 100% duty cycle
In my experience, never go weak on fuel. I now have XSpurt 1000cc + 2xBosch 044's in a surge tank, the same 416 pump in the stock tank. Don't limit yourself just to upgrade it again later

Its been done to death. Many forums about it. Anyway I was in your situation before.
I gave NPC a call, they recommended:
heavy duty cushion button rated 400rwkw.. more streetable..
or a carbotic button rated 450rwkw.. abit more aggressive on street

My 3" HKS Hi Power Silent makes high power and is silent.
I can't rev match properly because it's so quiet, I hate it
So as my daily, I've disconnected it after the cat with a 1mm gap. Lol
Makes 348 rwkw on the dyno, however, without the exhaust (disconnected from the cat), the car made 365 rwkw
I've had 3" varex previously. Mine lasted about 1 year(driven daily) and the gears got grinded off

Turn up the boost?
Check for more leaks? I had similar issue. Started boosting 18 instead of 23. I fixed it by changing the BOV and hoses. Well I think it was the BOV; I was playing with the BOV and intake pipe at the time. I also shortened the wastegate hose which made it open too early, then changed it back.

Awesome. How much all up - $550? It's the first mod I did on my N/A back in the day. Very handy passing cops, going through RBT's, driving inlaws, being taxi boyfriend, talking, etc.
With mine, adding a pod makes a difference to the exhaust sound. better inhale = better exhale. or maybe a high flow filter will work on your airbox. I never tried it though.
Both is illegal here in NSW too. I got away with it for 3 years and I got defected for Pod filter. They said nothing about the exhaust. Now using the airbox since that day and my GF driving it now.
Just don't spend anything else until you get turbo skyline, you'll need the money, trust me! been there done that!
Goood luck

Can't believe people still pay top dollar for big name brand exhausts when they are all known to have step downs and all sorts of restrictions.
Custom exhaust with your own choice of cat and mufflers every day of the week, it's a real no brainer.
What muffler though??? I looked around and no one advertises any photos of muffler internals, only tip size and inlet size. Was thinking to straight pipe my resonator and put on a good muffler, but couldnt find one.
I was quoted $1600 for a 3.5 inch custom exhaust, but was out of my budget with my new setup.
thats good power from 2.5inch, my resonator must be same cause on 98 i couldnt get more than 280kw with 3076, will get that chopped now after seeing this...
I think though, that having it go down in size in the muffler probably gives it a better sound, I've heard/read about this creating the best exhaust sound, quieter on low engine speed and angry at top end cause of the higher pressure/speed of the gas..
I previously hit 295 kw with my old setup and was hoping for over 300 like what others got with the same turbo. I only realized later that it's all because of the kakimoto resonator! Have a look inside before you chop it. Might not be the same. What exhaust?
Yes, the step downs make it quiet and better sounding. Kakimoto was too restrictive and too quiet, and it gave a "SHHHHHH" noise on WOT. The HKS one sounds real nice and soothing, even on WOT. I might keep it and install a exhaust cutout just for track days.
-
I am only guessing here but I'm saying my restriction is going to be my Kakimoto exhaust, I have a TD06 20G with the gate welded off the side so I didn't spoil the manifold.
Will wait and see what results mine spits out in 5 days.. And if the exhaust manifold is upto the task or not.
Have you had a look inside your Kakimoto Muffler? My old kakimoto has 3 inch to 3.5 inch piping but shrinks to 2.25 inch at the muffler. The Resonator is also the same. The cable tie is measured 2.5 inch. As you can see the Kakimoto ones shrink down even more
My car now has a HKS Hi Power Silent catback and it shrinks to 2.5 inch on the resonator and muffler.
I need something else. My old XForce one shrunk to 2.75 ~_~ come on!
My dyno graph shows the HKS catback restricts about 16 kW and 187 rpm response. That's with my screamer pipe already relieving pressure.
I'm sure 2.25 inch would suffer more. Even worse if the gate is plumed back or internal.

Similar thing happened to me 2 weeks ago.
- Boost suddenly slow. Full boost at 4500 rpm instead of 3600 rpm
- Manifold stud went missing
- Turbo spins fine
- Hardly any shaft play
- Compressor wheel looks fine
Mine however, made a noise. When the turbo was removed, the turbine wheel was checked - a fin was chipped and another is cracked
Hopefully its not the same issue.
Since yours isnt making a noise (is it?) and also a big jump from 4000 to 6000 then I'd also say its your gate being partially open.
Good luck

As mentioned in my previous post #1451, I've tried Toyo R1R and Nitto NT05
@V28VX37, I got my R1R tyres from St George Tyres. (NT05 from Taleb)
Toyo R1R and Federal RSR was offered to me there, but I chose Toyo due to stock for 255/40/17.
I really wanted to try federal RSR but they only had 235/45/17.
Based on drag racing with my R34 GTT, Toyo R1R is still my favourite grippy tyre.
220rwkw NT05 13.4s.... 2.2s 60 ft.... 5k launch
220rwkw R1R 13.2s.... 2.1s 60 ft.... 5.5k launch <<<< needed 5.5k because so grippy
295rwkw MTSC 13.1s.... 2.4s 60 ft.... 3k launch (horrid)
295rwkw R1R 12.5s.... 1.99s 60 ft.... 5k launch <<<<< my best 1.99s 60 ft because so grippy
This is my daily so I use these tyres on street and at drags. IMO, R1R lasted almost twice as long than NT05.
@Hadouken On my mates 260rwkw R34, NT05's couldnt handle the power. But AWD is a different story
Only me and my RWD friends(GTT, GTT, 335i, XR6T) complain about traction, but my AWD friends are having no problems (Ralliart, WRX) with >300 treadwear / $60 anybrand tyres
I don't do track / circuit, however, I do enjoy twisty cruises with mates. Both NT05 and R1R performed well at Palm Beach / Old Pacific HWY.
I didn't dare try any twisty cruises with Mickey Thompson Street Comp - Didn't want to die These couldnt grip on simple roundabouts.

Update! Replaced tyres yesterday. Couldn't get RSR or NT01 due to ordering delays. Tyre shop had R1R in stock.
Mickey Thompson Street Comp 245/40/17 vs Toyo Proxes R1R 255/40/17
295 RWKW R34GTT Manual
245/40/17 Mickey Thompson Street Comp
From 0, not launching: first gear spins as it reaches 3k/4k rpm on WOT.
Second gear spins before it reaches full boost. Starts spinning at 17 psi according to EBC
Third gear holds abit, but it screeches during high RPM- sounds like someone braking hard.
Launching at 3k and will spin as RPM rises.
255/40/17 Toyo Proxes R1-R
From 0, not launching: first gear does not spin, all the way to redline, reaches 20 psi
Second gear does not spin at all and reaches full boost 22 psi on WOT. Amazing pull.
Third gear no issues.
Launched at 5k rpm on street. Tyres chirped.. Good pull.. did not Bog down.. Very happy with these tyres at 295 rwkw.. 4.X seconds 0-100
I'm ready for Eastern Creek R4R

R34GTT Manual RWD
My reviews are based on grip for Drag racing and Launching. FYI, I'm not pro at launching, especially with my lightened flywheel. I can't really rate the tyres on the wet because I drive like a granny in the rain. I've been upgrading mods every now and then; hence the increased rwkw.
Front Tyres were always Nitto Invo 225/45/17 (UTQG 260)
1. Nitto Invo 245/40/17 (UTQG 260)
- 185 rwkw - 13.9s ...Was OK for 185 rwkw. Second gear initially chirps but holds well after. Launching at 4000 rpm
2. Nitto NT05 255/40/17 (UTQG 200)
- 185 rwkw - 13.7s ...Better than INVO. Second gear didn't chirp at all. Launching at 5500 rpm
- 220 rwkw - 13.4s ...Started chirping on second gear due to increase of rwkw. Still performed well. Launching at 5000 rpm
3. Toyo Proxes R1R 255/40/17 (UTQG 140) - best so far
- 220 rwkw - 13.2s ...60 foot time was better. First gear grips hard. Launching at 5500 rpm.
- 220 rwkw - 14.0s ...MCM drag day - Hot weather. Maybe engine heatsoak. Too much grip. 7000 rpm bogging launches.
- 251 rwkw - 13.1s ...Laggy turbo upgrade. Made me realise how slow I shift. Could of cracked into 12s for sure. Launching at 5500 rpm
I liked these tyres the best. No spinning issues because they grip hard!
4. Mickey Thompson Street Comp 245/40/17 (UTQG 300)
- 257 rwkw - 13.2s ...Terribad for 257 rwkw. Spin all throughout 2nd gear. Screeching on third. Can't hold the power down. Spins at red lights when not even giving it. Launching at 3500 rpm
5. Federal 595 RSR 255/40/17 (UTQG 140) (PENDING... Not sure if getting these next...)
- 295 RWKW - PENDING DRAG TIME ... Have not tested yet. Similar to Toyo R1R. Interesting....
============================
IMO:
RWKW _____ TYRE
~200 _______ Mickey Thompson Street Comp (300 UTQG)
~220_______ Nitto INVO (260 UTQG)
220~250 ____ Nitto NT05 (200 UTQG)
250~300____ Toyo Proxes R1R (140 UTQG) Mates RWD 270~280rwkw hit 12.3s
300~ _______ Nitto NT01 (100 UTQG) Other RWD at Drags hit 11.7s
I would love to try:
Nitto NT05R (UTQG 0) - but $420 each delivered - tyre shop also said they dont sell them in Australia
Toyo Proxes TQ (UTQG 0) - not sold in australia - type shop
Yokohama Advan AD048 (UTQG 60) - Hmmm interesting. Saw it on a R32GTR in sydney
Federal 595 RSR (UTQG 140) - Hmmm.. Similar to Toyo R1R and cheaper

I bought a similar "direct bolt on" Garrett from ebay. I got the GT2860RS version. It's possible I bought it off the same seller too, I'm not sure.
I tried installing it myself. It was direct bolt on, except for the oil and water lines. As said in their ad, you need to buy their line kit for extra $200

SOLVED
Squealing pig noise gone !
Thanks for the responses. If anyone else having this problem, apparantly it was the turbo gasket bolts. They were loose!

Hi,
Below is a link with 2 video uploads of the problem.
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/nt26pk680p5oj5d/AACBr2JpKq0CqVeS09_XdCpLa?dl=0
I drove 350km for a cruise and now started to have this problem. It's making a squealing noise like a pig on high rpm.
Car is 1999 Nissan Skyline R34 GTT at 114500 km
RB25DET
Stock Turbo
Stock Side Mount Intercooler
HKS Bov (its not the bov, i used to have Blitz Bov, didnt fix)
Any ideas on what it could be? Will be taking to my mechanic next week, but If it's an easy replace/fix, I could do it myself and save some money! any help is appreciated.. thanks

Spotted a few days back;
White R34 GTR at Cabramatta, stopped next to you at a set of red lights, gave your GF a thumbs up, not sure if she saw me, she seemed shy and turned away. lol. Plates PHO something... My gf was excited because she wants to get your rear LED's. She has my old White R34 n/a.
Also spotted Ricky again (LL00LL) at a roundabout fairfield east at 1am, high beamed, saw your hazards
Lastly this guy while going through mac uni a couple of days ago
I was in the Black R34 GTT.

Forgot to get plates. Spotted on Saturday ~
1: Around 5pm, Red R34 at Windsor Rd Kellyville. Gave you a thumbs up while you're stopped at red lights turning right not sure if you saw me and my GF passing (Black R34 and White R34)
2: Around 10pm, Black R34 at Woodville Rd, Villawood. A little bit of fun too Also, you cut between me and my GF while shes following me. All good. Three of us in a line, nice. My GF thought you were me, she was about to follow you instead, not good. LOL. Not sure if you saw hers behind you.
-
Just saw Ricky(LL00LL) passing me while I was parked at Tangerine St, Fairfield East.
Flashed my high beam, saw your hazard light. You've got the High JUN stands now like me. Real niiice in all black!

No hesitation on Auto mode.. Tiptronic only..
and I can't really test the auto-downshift on auto mode.. it rarely happens even on tiptronic
-
Radio's were off.
So it could be the alternator? I'll try again to find the sound by ear
-
another whistle noise video..
it whistles at idle and more stronger on rev.. annoys me on peak hour traffic..
any help would be great.. thanks!

Yes, the second Bosch pump activates on high load, and I've been told the 416 pump can be downgraded since it only feeds the surge tank now.
