No worries, thanks for the replies anyway! I ended up dropping by Woden, they're not doing pre-orders but the car is getting unveiled in the USA mid-August, might be able to put down a deposit after that.

Hey SAU'ers,
Loooong time no post on here, I sold my 33 a few years ago. I've been keenly following the upcoming 400Z, I was just wondering if anyone on here has any experience/advice on the Nissan dealers in town. The reason I'm asking is I remember seeing a 34 GTR Nur and 35 GTR in the Phillip showroom years ago, if there's an enthusiast working at one of the dealers I'd rather order through there--given the Nur I thought someone on here might know. Cheers!

Have spotted a silver R33 at Fairbairn a few times.
Could be moi....although I haven't seen the GTR in your sig out there.
Are the Friday meets still at the museum or has that changed? I only just moved back to Canberra recently...
Spotted on Isabella drive pretty regularly...mint looking silver 33 GTR, looks like a series 3.

Hi,
Just after some advice regarding whether a tune is required after installing a turbo back exhaust. I've got a stock R33 GTST, and have been looking at something like the CES turbo back complete system.
They've advised that will give a gain of 30-40kw ATW, without any tune.
I'm not planning on changing the stock boost controller or doing any other mods, but what I'm wondering is whether the increased flow from a complete new exhaust system is enough to throw the air/fuel ratios out and cause the rich/retard issue I've read about...or does this only occur if you start upping the boost as well?
I'm not too worried about making the maximum possible power, more whether the car is going to be running poorly after and I should be adding on the cost of a Nistune or similar setup to changing out the exhaust system.
Cheers

Sorry, should have been more specific. The lining is fine, the drooping is where the headliner board (ie the mdf or whatever it is) attaches to the metal roof of the car. There are 3 or 4 contact points at the rear windscreen for this. I need to take another look, but I'm guessing there are Velcro pads or similar that are no longer glued on. New Velcro on loctite 401 could do the trick, spray adhesive sounds more like for the fabric. Just thought there may be a specific hi-temp rated interior glue.

Hey team,
Same problem here, I've tried 3M VHB and another tape from supercheap (exterior trim tape), but both fall down. Is there any glue that would be best to use?

I had the first half of your issue (starting), ended up being a tiny leak ( a few mm) in the hose going from throttle body to charcoal canister. I only spotted in with a freaking bright led headlamp to look at the hoses.

I was having issues with a rough idle after start. Revs were sitting at 4-500, or the car would cut out. I'd blip the throttle, then they would pick up to 1200 or so before settling down. I came across this thread whilst troubleshooting, and it sounded like the AAC valve needed cleaning. However, I found a leak on the vacuum line between the throttle body and charcoal canister (tiny...only a few mm), Replacing that hose has fixed the problem. Sure it has been said in this thread before...but check for leaks, might save you unbolting the AAC!

Hey dude, the silver S2 R33. Been heading out that way a bit lately, there are a couple of roads out that way that aren't too bad. Anyone want to meet up tomorrow or Monday?

Also been looking for a while...tossing up between Kaki 06&R + Xforce dump, or just getting the works from CES...
-
Pretty lame generalisations....if you're doing well in the army you need therapy? Right...

Agree with everything the others have said.
There are enough R33s around that you can be pretty tight with criteria, so don't feel like you have to settle. If you think you'll want to do it up, buy one already done...perhaps from somebody on here where a few people can vouch for the car.
I went for something stock, so just looking on carsales I ruled out anything any mods, including pod filter or exhaust. I was also looking for things like the original boot decals to be in place. I found that this brings it down to a pretty narrow pool.
Going for a 96 (Series 2) onwards is worthwhile.
You can get the vins 'fasted' here, where somebody can look the car up for you and find out how it came out of the factory. Also, the REVS check in Victoria was useful and easy to do online.
I finally had three looked at by state roads, who I found to be pretty thorough and better than RACV. Two ended up having pretty bad issues.
Long story short...don't rush, you can afford to be picky.

Ill try and make it

I know! I sold my 33 thinking one day I'd get a clean 34 GTT or GTR and update hold onto them, nekminnit prices go nuts so that ship has sailed haha. All in all I think the shape is good for what you can get these days, the era of awesome 90s cars is well and truly gone.
