  1. So apparently this cheaper option doesn't come setup and ready to use? It's not exactly plug and play it seems. I got chris to install his cruise control in my v35 a week ago and works amazingly well, rediculously accurate to maintaining the desired speed. Unless you go down a long steep hill which requires brakes to maintain speed such as the gateway bridge, the speedo needle doesn't ever seem to budge from the set speed through all sorts of different road conditions and speeds plus it comes already setup and ready to use, no tuning involved.

Chris installed it for me, but I watched him do it and it took all of about 15minutes from start to finish, no cutting wires, and it did come with the factory controls. Plus there was no programming or anything involved with the setup. It was as simple as plug-in and drive off.

I'm not saying that you should purchase one or the other, but I am saying you shouldn't laugh at the price difference.. as with everything in life, you get what you pay for.

  2. I learnt something interesting about the VDC the other day (you guys may already know of this...) I had a wheel alignment and they guys adjusted the toe so that the steering wheel was straightened (it had been a little off since i'd got the car). My VDC had never given me any drama before, I'd even driven it on the track and if I wasn't pushing super super hard, it wouldn't kick in anywhere, even with it still switched on.

But after the wheel alignment, it was kicking in ALOT even under normal driving. It was actually making it dangerous as it would start braking wheels when it really shouldn't have been.

After alot of research I finally found somewhere that mentioned you have to take the car into Nissan and get them to do some precedure that tells the computer where 'straight ahead' is again. I did this and it is now much better. Still not quite as lenient as it was before, but a huge improvement as now it only kicks in under quite spirited driving.

Just thought I'd add this in here as it may help some people with VDC issues similar to what I experienced after the wheel alignment.

  3. Hey mate, my company is MCA Suspension. You probably havn't heard of us as we don't advertise. But we build top quality shockabsorbers for motorsport applications and sell across Australia and around the world.

Most of our orders are custom so we are setup to be able to make the suspension feel anyway you like, and we organise the springs for you too. I have made a set for my own V35 coupe so we have designs for that car. Being that we build custom shocks and we use top quality parts, we are a little costly, very labour intensive job. Off the top of my head they would be between 3 to 4 grand. I know it sounds alot, but thats very very cheap for us. But believe me when I say you will be blown away by how good top quality suspension can feel.

We don't normally sell shocks for road cars, but as you are after something that probably doesn't otherwise exist, I thought I'd give you the option. If you are interested you can contact us at [email protected] or me personally at [email protected].
