Kind of surprised that the idea of any tyre protruding past the rim looks 'balloony'.

Personally, I would prefer some protrusion so the tyres are first to touch a gutter rather than the rim, but then again, I don't like the stretched look.

Rounded tyre walls give it that "balloony" look as opposed to 'straight walls'

245/45 fit fine, no errors with lights or tyre scrubbing.. All just works as it should. Nitto Motivos, but will most likely change to Nitto Invo soon...

My 245/45 look a bit 'balloony' slightly outside the rim. N.B. Old School G35 wheels on my 2007 V36 skyline..Pirelli Dragon Sport.

S and SP have the same tyre sizes as they are both on 18's. The P runs 17's with 225/55 all round.

That weird 225/50 is why so many of us, me included, run 245/45 all round..

So what you really want is a set of 370Z 19's with the matching brakes.... That will give you some definite stagger...

    245/40/19 9" wide

    275/35/19 10" wide...

    Thanks Nick.

So you want more radio stations?
FM expander required for Japanese head units in Aus. Google it.

No analogue TV In Aus anymore, so there's nothing to pickup even if it did work. (unless it's a digital tuner in these cars?)

ta...No, dont want to have a dodgy expander with all the wrong markings,,, Just saying I get x 3 fm stations well via the TV tuner and want to know if I can adjust it to get more...NB its a digital TV tuner (DVT20)

Congratulations on an excellent thread.  Will read again.  When it makes sense.

    Stock is staggered....

    225/50/18 front 7.5" wide wheel

    245/45/18 rear  8.5" wide wheel

Thats just for the SP.I believe.

NB 225/50 weird size, actually calculates to a slightly larger rolling diametre than the rears.

  6. Hi Guys. Happy New Year.

I have a Panasonic HDTV unit in my 07 G36 sedan; a Panasonic DTV 20.

Luckily I get 3 radio stations via the HDTV unit / TV , including above 88 .0.

Is it possible to 'tune' the unit to get more?..or does it just 'default' to the strongest signals?

(No TV though, which I understand is to be expected).

    Cheers..

  7. Tnx for reply...Yeah Prank, I like the look, just got rid of my 350 Z with 10' and 8's...

Just a thought re the rim dia change?...I dont know what occurs to speedo if just fronts are not correct rolling diametre.

    Dead stock on 18's is 245/45 and 225/50 front.+ 0.7 % diff.

  8. Staggered Look

To achieve a 'staggered' look, whats the best way to go without compromising the rolling diameter?

I am thinking 'slimmer' tyres and smaller front rim? e.g. 18 rear and 17 front on my V36 Skyline Sedan? (See below). Now running 18's all round.

    Appreciate your thoughts...

  9. FM Stations

    Hi guys.

As you know the stock V36 radio only covers up to FM 88.0

I get three more stations over '100', inc. 107 WSFM in Sydney via my HD TV receiver.

I note that the TV 'stations' in Japanese are pre-set on the screen currently.

Would it be possible to tune this item to get even more radio stations?

They look like coupe V35 18s.  I have these on my V35 sedan and I am running 245/45 all round without issue.  I find 245 a good width for these rims, they protrude just far enough past the rim so you don't tear up your rims if you touch a gutter, but not too far that they bulge.

Factory tyre sizes on these rims on the coupe was 245/45 rear, 225/45 front.

Just FYI, there is no such thing as a G36.  You have a V36.

Thanks sonici...Good info.. why do I keep thinking "g" ! dooh.

I was thinking 245 on front might make it a bit 'tracky'.  I see the sport version of mine (sp) ran 7 1/2 " fronts with 225/50..unusual size.

What brand of tyres are you running on the sedan?..and happy with them ?

    Cheers.

  11. I seem to have G35 wheels (after market colour) on my (new to me) 2007 G36 350 gt type P.

These are all 18x8, currently shod with 235/40 crap..Bonanza???

It is hard to match the factory rolling diameter of originals with new tyres.

    Originals  for 'type p' were 17's all round with 225/55, on the type sp, 18X 7" and 18 X 8 1/2" with  225/50 f and 245/45 r.

However, 245/45 are too wide for my current 8"...

I was hoping for wider than 235 on my rears on existing rims

    What to do?

Find some SP 18 rims?   i.e. 18x7" and 18x18.5"...(I like the staggered look).

Sadly budget constraints preclude re new rims atm.

    Tnx.

    NB In Australia.

  12. Wheel colour

Does anyone know if this 'bronze' was an OEM colour on my 2007?

I am (of course) trying to match the colour for kerb rash.

They could be coloured G35 wheels is the closest I can get .

    Thanks
