  1. Hey guys,

As the title states I am looking into getting a new turbo for my 25/30, I am currently running a Gt3582 at 28psi on 98, which is getting close to the limits I'd imagine on 98 fuel. I don't want to switch to e85 as where I live the closest e85 bowser is roughly 150kms away. I've been looking towards the precision range as they seem to be making good number and seem reliable. I'm hoping to achieve around 600hp on 98, I am still uncertain at this stage on what size would be the best for me, so if anyone could share some knowledge and results of there own that could help me that would be great!

    Thanks guys

  2. I understand what your saying and it makes sense, I've spoken with my local tuner and machinists and they have seen the same thing done before so I'm confident it will be fine, if not I will regret not doing it but I'll cross that path when it gets here

  3. It would be lubed the same way the rest are they don't all have an individual oil feed from the block, I've read up on it before doing it and I've noticed plenty of people have blocked it off by welding or grub screwing it.

  4. I have a rb25 neo long motor minus rocker covers and timing covers for sale, I'm lead to believe it has roughly 80,000km as the car it was in has a nismo cluster which only says 28,000km. Was running fine in my car. Reason for sale is I've built an rb30det for my car.

    Looking for around $1500

Also have a genuine HKS cast low mount manifold with a genuine HKS external gate

    Looking for $700

    Cheers

  5. I disabled the VCT because I wanted to run big cams, to block it off I simply tapped and grub screwed the feed into the head.

Still awaiting my intake manifold who would have thought it would take 8 weeks from Victoria to Perth...

Will take pics tomorrow as it sits today, still waiting on the intake manifold and injectors to arrive before I put it in. Quiet annoyed that I was not advised it would take 4 weeks for them to make the manifold... could have just bought a greddy off the shelf and had it in by now!

  7. Hi there, it will be used as my daily with the occasional track events, as for engine builders I'm not exactly sure where your from, RIPS always seem to build some porn looking motors but I've gone with a local engine builder so I'm not really familiar with who else is out there, usually a machinist shop is a good place to ask or your local import specialist will have a good idea

  8. you also need to remember the oil side of things, a good oil pump is a huge key to you engine life and the extended oil pump drive is also a good thing, if your going to be building a motor, what is going to be your power output goal? if its around the 500hp mark it would probably be safer to get a set of rods for the extra money then spending all this money on the motor with 20 year old rods.

  9. Hi guys,

My R34 RB25 Neo recently spun a big end and has now decided to destroy the turbo, so quiet simply I'm going to ditch the hole setup and start fresh :) my setup will include

    RB25DET head:

    Camtech 272 9mm lift cams

    Supertech Valves, springs, retainers

    Bronze valve guides

Quiet a bit of port work

    VCT disabled

OS Giken bling bling vernier gears

    RB30 block:

    Crank, crack tested and balanced

    Extended oil pump drive

    JE 9:1 pistons

    Spool rods

ACL race series mains and big ends

    N1 oil pump

1.5mm Restrictors fitted to centre two head oil feeds

    Bolt On:

    6Boost Highmount mani

    GT3540 .82 rear

    Turbosmart 50mm gate

SLIDE Industries custom intake manifold with 80mm TB

    Bosch 1000cc Injectors

I hope too make around about 500-550 rwhp on pump 98 and possibly once we get some damn e85 make some more power :woot:

  10. hi Jason,

Check out spool imports they do a rebuild kit to suit rb2530 engines, I'm currently building a motor using one of these kits for my own car, as for a computer I'd recommend something like a Apexi Power FC, they are a good computer and I haven't heard anyway really have any problems with them.

XKLABA 2mm sounds like a lot to take off the block :\ are you sure it wasn't 2thou? 2mm is 80thou, I had my block decked 2 thou to simply clean the deck up and achieve a CR of 9:1 using the JE pistons and spool rods package with a 1.3mm cometic head gasket.

  11. okay guys, well I have received my block and head back from the machinist, I have restricted both oil feeds in the block to 1.5mm feeds, the head has been ported and had a service with the new valves, springs, retainers, and cams. the block was bored to 86.5mm and drilled and tapped for the extra tensioner as well as a crank collar fitted.

I'll add some pics in the next few days :)

  12. hey guys,

I currently have an r34 rb25det neo with a spun bearing, I am building a 25/30 with a non neo head and cant really find much on whether I can just use everything off my neo head (sensors, CAS, coilpacks, etc) on the non neo head. If anyone has any information regarding this that would be deeply appreciated!

Not really after a lecture on why I should run a neo head over a non neo head as I'm already building the motor

    Thanks!
