  1. long time no post

spotted a yellow 34gtt on northbourne near barton hwy yesterday 5:15pm or thereabouts- fair bit of steam coming out from under the bonnet :S

also spotted a silver 33gts-t heading to qbn this morning at about 9:30arm

  2. Fitted some new wiper blades, going the Trico aero style ones this time around. Going to be a big improvement particularly from the passenger side one that I had was bent!

Picked up a new jump starter pack at the same time cause was 50% off today. Now I'm cooking Pete's lunches for during the week and I've convinced him to polish up the windscreen with Rainex :D

Was looking at the aero wipers today.. what's the quality like for the trico ones? I was actually looking to get some bosch ones, but can't find any in Canberra..

  3. Tried installing a Cusco lower triangle brace (goes from caster arm mounts to front crossmember).. in the process managed to fk a socket and round the bolt.. so will be buying a mini butane blow torch tomorrow and getting rid of those stupid bolts.

Also in the process of fixing up my dodgy cooler piping.. ahh wish I could drive my car again :( Had to put the trickle charge on the battery today.. sad sad

  4. Had a rad day at the trackday the other day. Did some drifts of the 2 and 4 wheel variety. didnt actually manage to get a good lap, dirtbag street tyres turn to jelly after a turn haha. something to improve on for next time. Will link/upload vid next time im on a computer

Even if you got some 595rsr's they're alright for a few laps flat out..

..but really, if you plan on going more often, the best thing to do is get a 2nd set of wheels and get some proper semi slicks (do it right and save yourself the time imo)

  5. Yesterday; pulled down the ke55, found out that it has a 3k head on a 4k block.. was consuming a lot of water too.

Today; finally finished off my ebc installation, holy crap I've been missing out! Massive improvement in boost ramp/response and still the same power/boost setting :) I will have to spend the next few days tuning it a bit more. Cannot recommend enough if you think your wastegate is opening too early!

  6. Fresh brake pads and fluid going in this time.

And ill bring PLENTY of top up fluids too, its not hillclimbing.

Diff isnt leaking too bad, i will fix it before then if i can get a seal easy. Otherwise i can top it up if it needs it.

Very good idea to bring top up fluids!

I have Project Mu mixed street/track brake pads and they hold up well, especially with the slotted rotors up front - still usable on the street too.

Make sure you also bring a bit of extra oil, as consumption increases a lot with a hot turbo on track (in my experience)

Brake bleed before and after will also make a big difference.

Also take a jerry can of fuel or two

  7. what speeds are we expected to reach down the straights??

I hit about 160-170 just past the start/finish line.

Wakefield is a great place to learn... However I would recommend doing a trackschool/circuit club day if it's your first time, as instructors help immensely.

Unless you book your own instructor for speed off the streets, you're out there on your own...
