  1. I'm going nuts over this same issue :wacko: . I miss my GTT too much so I've been looking at a 34GTR vpsec for the last few months.

    Last option is to import one.. But as you guys can imagine I'm gettin a lot of resistance from family and friends saying dont spend so much on an old car.

    Also I heard rumours about govt dropping import duties since the aus car manufacturers are shutting down their plants.

    Will the 34GTRs retain their value? How much should I be spending on a clean one? I'm only lookin at V-spec and above. Preferably blue. :woot:

    Always run on 98 Octane fuel and Motul fully synthetic oil with HKS Fuel filter. Serviced every 5000ks. Rocker cover gaskets and timing belt service done twice. Boost set at 11psi. Never been on track and always warmed up and cooled down.

    Car is in registered and driven in Qld at present but will be in Melbourne after 16th March.

    Reason for sale: Need funds for house deposit.

    I think the time has come for me to upgrade to a GTR. To be honest i've never driven one before and I've had my GTT for a while now.

    The one that I'm lookin at is stock standard VSpec with an exhaust and intake upgrade.

    - That's a good starting point, considering you have never driven one.

    - Stick to the stock air intake if you can and the exhaust is a good upgrade.

    Sorry for the noob question. But I've read forums where people were not happy with the GTR initially and they spend some money on upgrading the turbos and boost controller etc..

    - GTR owners all have different preferences.

    - Depending on what you want to use the car for will determine what mods you want.

    How much difference is there between a midly modified GTT (blitz intercooler, kakimoto exhast, greddy profec b spec boost controller set at 11psi and HKS intake & bov) and a stock Vspec GTR

    - They are 2 totally different cars, RWD vs 4WD / 2.5lt vs 2.6 / Single Turbo vs Twin Turbo / different Weight of cars.

    - A stock R34 GTR runs about 10.9 - 11 PSI.

    - What's the condition of the R34 GTR V-Spec you looking at?

    Its mint condition.

    My doubts were right then, performance per dollar won't be very satisfactory.

    People who dont know much about skylines wont notice any diffference if I change to the GTR lol. Cos both the GTT and GTR are white and have black mags.

  5. To be honest I only ever liked the first one. The passion for cars was very evident and it was a genuine movie. They put lot of effort into it, showing the lives of true car\racing enthusiasts and we could relate to it.

    Now they've become too commercialised.

    They finished filming F&F 7 so it might be a bit of a sad watch when it comes out
