  1. https://www.plazmaman.com/shop_itemdetail.php?itemid=142&cate=72

this is the kit i plan on running and from the looks of it that replaces the crossover pipe..kinda need the piping thats why im after a kit not just a intercooler....it doesnt look as though theres a nipple even on the piping.. do they weld that on later or something?

what size flange should i go if i do decide to get this kit..38mm? what is the best priced half decent plumb back BOV you can buy which will go on this kit.....seems like such a hassle for the price...

  2. aftermarket plumb back are so exxy when i could be using it for other stuff lol.... and i would run no BOV but i dont particularly want attention from the wrong people and even though it may not be illegal...they can still pick on my other stuff lol

is this just a plazmaman intercooler problem or do most intercoolers not run the stock setup ?? i.e justjap FMIC etc

  3. thanks guys im still looking at which exhaust sounds best out of them lot, im guessing a local option probably isnt too good ?

zoid your right but ive had a few policey driving alongside me and havent bothered me so far so i cant be too much of a asshole :P (uptights probably think otherwise)

autumn if i go that route should i do it all in one go or do it seperately? and if i do should i go a local or get a a pre-made system? if so can you recommend one? :)

  4. hey every1 just wondering if you guys could give me your opinion on a new exhaust, ive been reading up on how i should get a 3inch and whatnot,

what im wondering is do you guys think im better off picking up a exhaust locally and buy seperate peices (which probably wont fit...) or buying a known brand exhaust system off the net ?

these are some i have in mind....

HKS silent high power (no linky)

    Blitz nur spec R

high-flow cat vs a normal cat? for a street car is a high flow needed? i've been looking at a 3" venom high flow cat would that be suitable?

how onto it are our cops regarding exhausts and defects?

ive seen a load of shitboxes that sound louder than some harleys so do we have a high decibel rating or do our cops just not give a shit? would rather find this info out now rather than later seeing as i dont want to have to replace a new zorst just because a bunch of nazi's think its too loud...(or stuff around replacing my stock exhaust just for a clearence..)

and also if i plan on uprading my turbo then i need to upgrade my dump pipe? (anything else exhaust wise?) would i be better off doing this now or do that when im replacing turbo (so i can get the right fitments??)

  5. Its exactly where I have mine hooked up and will be fine!

Plenty of places to hook them up but if the factory gauge uses that line then just use that one.

Let us know how you go with the install

Any trouble just post up in here and I am sure we could all help

ahh sweet thanks alot for that, ill let yous know how i go once i get a gauge....need to work out a good brand to go thats accurate

  6. hey guys so i went and read up a bit on boost gauge/controller installation and i went and located where the T peice was in the engine bay....but it seems to be in a unusal spot for a boost gauge as i understand they should be connected off the intake lines

when i found this T peice its attatched to a line coming from a black little box on the top left of the engine bay? is that part of the intake or would this be a boost controller connection? pic below...

    post-93031-0-53382100-1349250205_thumb.jpg

unfortunately i didnt take a picture of what the black line was running to on the other side but could this be a gauge or controller ? and what is the black box that the T peice is connecting into ?

sorry if im not explaining it right...just hard to put names to things when your not sure what they are lol..if you guys need a better pic showing the whole side of the engine and where the black line is connection too i could go take another one....

  7. soo while i was waiting for replys i went and took the lower fuse interior off and behind it was a mess but i found another black wire with electrical tape on its end.....and if you follow the wire further up it has another one coming from it plus a little red plastic fuse looking thing? (not a fuse...just look like one) any idea what this could be also?

  8. hey guys i bought my skyline a few months ago off someone who didnt know much about the car so ive begun the long process of learning what has been broken/changed and ive recently been playing around with all the loose wiring they have left behind...

i noticed under the steering column theres a long cleer tubing with what looks like a screw with a spring behind it? looks as though its coming from the engine bay somewhere....anybody have any idea what this is? i have a picture included....

also is it hard to remove a turbo timer? i have a greddy full auto timer and it seems when i tried to jump start (noob mistake...know not too now..) it must have fried it because it just turns on now and doesnt do any function lol....

is it a matter of just following cords and taking them out or is it a bit of stuffing about....same for neons? has these installed but they are faulty/turn on and off if u jiggle the cord so bit of a fire risk.....

i better not start on the subwoofer/amplifier wiring in the boot which sparks while your driving lol....

  9. thanks alot guys ill try and take it back and exchange... yeah after reading a bit more i realised the 15w is waay to thick for my climate conditions..ill take it back and exchange it...im fairly sure they dont have any Syn-X 3000/6000 so might have to go for Penrite HPR 5 - 5w-40...

as for the previous owners oil im not sure what they put in but it hasnt seemed to cause any problems as of yet so im sure another day or 2 wont hurt...

    cheers for the fast replys!!

  10. hey guys i just went to my local supercheap and they had a 5L container of Gulf Western 15-40w Oil and i mistakenly thought it was the Syn x type.....i was just wondering if anyone has used any of the other gulf western oils?

the one i have is Gulf Western Premium Gold, Premium Grade Sl/CF4

will it hurt my engine not being the Syn-X version? also is this a fully synthetic or mineral based.....? the current oil in my engine is unknown because i had only bought it a few months ago....

Edit: I know there is a goods on oil thread but ive read that and got the wrong GW....so any help with this version of oil is appreciated....if its not worth it ill just take it bcak and get some other oil...

  11. Next time we're heading out to the track I'll extend an invite your way :)

I saw a very tidy, all original 33, wheels and all, going across the bridge today at like 3:45, wouldn't have happened to be you?

Stock 33s love it on the Track, Jay used to take his out a bit, just the standard SMIC gets a little warm and you lose power after a few laps :(

I've not looked into rebuilding BCs, and I don't think anyone in tassie does it either :/

that would be awesome zoid then i can finally meet some of you guys and pick all of your brains lol

Nahh wasnt me unfortunately :(., mines a white 33 with black rims and L plates :P... (in baaad need of new rims...they are just painted stock nissan wheels from the previous owner lol)

So really theres nothing i "need" to do to my car to be able to take it too a track day then? i think im just a bit paranoid about taking it because i know next to nothing about the cars previous history so not sure if its just going to "blow" the minute i give it to her lol

just another question guys, i bought slotted rotors aswell and replaced all them but i think i might not have bedded in my brakes properly....how will i know if ive done some damage to the rotors?

i got the pads and brakes put on but then i had to drive it home from kingston unfortunately so the big hill coming back into hobart would have got my brakes fairly hot but then i had to stop start all threw town....i tried my best to not use my brakes but you guys know what its like.... i took it for a drive the next day down to cambridge and didnt notice any form of vibration or shuddering so maybe thats a good sign?

i was still paranoid about using my brakes yesterday so made sure i left the car overnight with no brake applied....should i just roll with what ive already done or should i go out and bed the brakes in today even though its been driven twice already?
