  2. Think it might be a write off, damaged front left guard (front left door fowls quater panel when opening door" and front left wheel is about 30cm towards back of car with severe gutter rash on 1/2 wheel, and left rear wheel has + 45 camber and gutter rash on 1/2 wheel. Chunks of rubber missing on tyres with 90% tread.

I can only Imagine the burnouts and dougnuts they tried in an rs4 and ended up in gutters.

  3. Car was recovered this morning. No bike in it. still dont know what else is gone, has some damage to a front panel and rear wheel.

I should get more info tomoz. Was found in lang warren.

No CCTV in close proximity. doubt they would have gone straight to a servo when i had 1/2 a tank.

    regards, brendan

  4. the window switch just pops out. can use a knife or flat screw driver.

might be a screw under the black button thing too, the cover will just pop off.

the panel itself just clip on. grab it at the bottom corner where the speaker is and pull gently to unclip them, then just work your way around the rest of them,

maybe a screw in the handles too.

  5. Yes I believe there are some that come up on the jap yahoo auctions although they are around $500.

I had a Xanavi and swapped to a standard climate unit. I spent around $210 all up. $180 on the unit, dash surround and cradle & another $30 on some parts to make my own harness.

Think there's a thread with the same/similar title that has all the info i needed to be able to do it.

  6. Yer, my Xanavi unit has been intermittent too.

Worked fine for the test drives before i bought the car.

But the day after, started not coming on, then not turning off, and sometimes works fine.

What really gets me here, is when it doesnt turn off  after i have turned the ignition off and left the car.

The screen will just be frozen with the nissan background.

  7. Yer it was a real pain to remove those 3 connectors from the xanavi climate unit whilst under the dash,

Then it was a real pain to remove the xanavi climate unit from under the dash,

Then it was a real pain to desolder then resolder all the connections,

Then it was a real pain to install the harness and reconnect the 3 original connectors under the dash.

  8. HKS have a list of compatible vehicles that the OB-Link works on, not sure if the C34 is on there or not...

Pretty Sure its only the 35's that have this OBD2 port. 34's use the older OBD1.

Also did this to my stagea yesterday

drove over a roofing screw :verymad:

  9. Thanks, Also found this http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roads/vehicle_regulation/bulletin/pdf/NCOP11_Section_LS_Tyres_Suspension_Steering_V2_1Jan_2011%20v3.pdf page 20+ refers to some legal fitment condtions.

Looks like i am good with my size. I just like to know sure for insurance purposes, incase they say, those tyres arnt legal, ur car isnt road worthy, no money for you.

Does that ever happen? Insurance claim denied because of unroadworthy vechile from mods like wheels?

  11. RESPONSE. excellent price/performance. Their amps are top notch and still easily available through Jaycar and ebay. The woofers are good, Some year models are better than other. Kevlar ones were the better years.

Same with the splits, but these are getting a little harder to find. Again you can get Response audio wiring and fuses ect. from jaycar too. Their Headunit are rubbish but you've already got that sorted.

I built a system using this stuff and have never heard anything that would compare for the same price.

In 2007 from Jaycar for around +$1000 i got:

    6" 50W RMS Splits with x-over ~$120

    6.5" 60W RMS Splits with x-over ~$125

    2x 12" 300W RMS dual coil kevlar woofers ~$130ea

    1x800W RMS Mono Block ~$230

    4x130W RMS 4 Channel Amp ~$260

    6M 4 guage Red ~$20

    1.5M 4 guage Black ~$5

    2x 6M RCA ~$35

approx figures, bought it in 2007. Tested with handheld db meter, 138.6db

Just pulled it all out of my old car and reinstalled in my new stagea. All still working great.

Subs, Need to be removable so i can put bikes ect in the back.

Everything else is hidden away, all the speakers and splits

Amps hidden away in tyre area. I just throw the space saver in the back for long distance trips.

  12. Cool, Thanks heaps..

I bought the parts for the swap but by harness from the new Climate Unit wasn't very long.

I removed the Xanavi Climate Control Unit from under the dash, It is above the drivers left foot area. It is next to my handbrake (Auto). I opened it up and removed the connecters from the circuit board inside and created my own harness.

All working fine, although i have tested it at night for illumination.

New unit and my custom harness
