  1. eh? it was a public show wasn't it? jeebuz.

Funny enough it was exactly as NISMO quoted in their specs on the car, 500ps, what we expected.

What you need to remember is the Z-tune was not built for an outright power figure & still meets all emissions requirements.

We only put it on the dyno at the owners request to get a before & after reading.

The torque figure was what we were interested in & that was pretty impressive.

There were some very high power figures produced throughout the day, congrats to the owners.

Was great to see everybody that came to say hello & thanks to everyone for their help at the end of the day.

Couldn't have done it without you.

My head is still thumping BOOM, BOOM, BOOM.

    Cheers

  2. the lighter silver R34 wheels are off the NUR spec i think... good luck finding original ones of these... all others are the dark grey...

the lighter ones look like this:

The lighter (silver) rims were fitted to the Midnight Purple 3 limited edition R34 GTR's. Very hard to come by.

  3. and Jo, I was thinking you might be sending me a spare Z-tune in the mail, but I've rung the post office and no 10.5 cubic metre box was waiting there? what's up with that?!? perhaps it just got held up a bit? *prays to god it was held up...

I don't have your address Richard, that must be what the hold up is.

The Z-tune is coming back for a little visit soon, the owner said "Jo, I will lend you the Z-tune & you can have it for a week" How cool is that.

So, end of November - 1st week in December be ready.

Now, are you taking me out for that dinner for your birthday?

  4. I think I can save you a lot of hassle. A friend of mine has one that he imported and has been used as a second car to his two skylines. It's in awesome condition with nice rims, good paint work and he replaced the soft top since he's had it. from memory it comes with a hard top too which is pretty cool. The best part is he is a mechanic and a very good one. He owns Grey Imports in annandale. The car has not been advertised yet, but i know he is keen to sell as he offered it to me. I would definately give him a ring. 9519 5150. I would have bought it to use as a second car (well 3rd car) but my GF cannot drive manual. price is very reasonable too.

LOL Richard, you are so quick. I just finished sending a pm letting him know about this car also.

  5. does anyone remember seeing a hot R33 GTR on the hill turn 11.

Boy that was a hot r33 GTR purple too ((LOL))

I reckon all the cars on the day looked great and i reckon it was the best that I have been too and was a fatastic site to see two old school GTR's

Well done to all that had a go on the day ! I got some fantastic video footage too

    Hi Andrew,

There weren't any purple R33 GTR's however, there was an R32 GTR painted in R33 GTR purple. Great looking car & very nice owner too, Mark is his name, don't think he frequents the forums though.

Glad you had a great time, would love to see the footage you took sometime.

We have some great footage too, the parades especially are fantastic to see on video. The selection of cars really was amazing, the Japanese are in awe.

There will be highlights of the day in one magazine in Japan in particular in the near future & keep your eye out for the next edition of Auto Salon.

Really focused on getting pics of all cars on the day, pretty sure nobody has been missed out.

Professional pics will be up over the next week or so.

Once again, thank you to all that participated on the day.

Despite a few hiccups, I can confidently say from all the feedback I have received everybody had a fantastic time & that's what it is all about.

  7. I really dont like to wine or be a hater but there is one thing I didn't like about the day....Aaron McGill(think thats his name) and his crew as race director/organiser....

You know I totally agree with you Sam as you saw how stressed I was several times throughout the day in regards to Pitt Lane manning.

There was a very clear schedule to follow & I can't for the life of me understand why there were incompetencies in that area.

I am certainly following up these concerns with Aaron.

  8. Ah - Thanks for that Jo... Yeah in hindsight we shoulda been thinking more but I still had loads of fun.

Great day and thanks for putting it together. Best trackday i've been to yet!

    No worries Kris.

It was all the guys & gals that came along for the day that made it so great.

A huge thank you to you all :)

So happy to see everybody had such a good time even though the schedule went a bit haywire towards the end of the day.

Getting photo's up on our website early next week so keep an eye out, there's some fantastic shots.

    Cheers

  9. Haha sorry about that being in grp 4 thing. It was totally our fault, me and Blitz requested to go in the same group and Joanne must have rearranged the groups the only way possible. Putting us in group 4...

    Then Blitz didn't come...

So i was there by myself...

I think in a different group I wouldve had less holdups but ultimately I'm a noob so my time's would've still been pretty crap. Next time I'll know better...

    Hi Kris,

I explained the groups to Nick ie: group 1-most experienced grading down to group 4-less experienced.

Nick actually requested that you both be put in group 4, thought it was a bit strange at the time.

  10. how did you manage to comply it?

and on the powerplay web site the pics of the ztune have nismo plates (compared to the ztuned plates in the pic), is there 2 here?

It was complied the same way as all other vehicles ie; Certified Testing Evidence showing the vehicle meets the required standards for Australian Design Rules.

There is definately only 1 Z-tune in Australia. Several number plates were used for promotional purposes only.

  11. a blue one... hahaha

    Yeh it was, a blue 34 Z tune... :|

Seriously, it was a Z tune or a damn good copy, I'm not stupid, lol

As you obviously know, the Z-tune only came in one colour - Nismo Silver.

I was just checking as we fitted the Z-tune front guards to a blue R34 GTR from Brisbane. It also has the

R-tune bonnet so it would be easy to see how somebody might mistake it for a Z-Tune if they were not familiar with it's design.

As the sole distributor for the Z-Tune in Australia, to the best of my knowledge there is no Z-Tune in Queensland. Nismo have no knowledge of this & they have a register of all owners. This register is kept to monitor the purchase of spare parts for the Z-tune as many parts are specific to the Z-tune and are not available to the general public. Owners must be on this register in order to purchase spare parts.

I would love to think there is one driving around up there but the information I have at hand tells me this is not so.

    Cheers

    Jo
