To drive an unrego'd car you need to obtain a permit. No registration is no registration.
You won't be covered if you hit any car or person. Paying the tow fee or rental fee for a trailer will be cheaper n safer.
My understanding of the ,drive to the nearest station for a slip, is for pinks only. It's for cars just out of rego who still have the 3 mouths to get a pink slip. That's when you can shoot up the road to get a pink.

Rego does not stipulate ownership. The bill of sale is. Its the legal binding document between the seller and buyer. Sad thing is not many people bother to write one up.

One of the main reasons ctp's increased for nsw and nsw only was because the state lib gov made sweeping changes to workcover towards the end of last year. One of those changes was to work related car accidents. Workcover no longer covers injury to people(s) anymore. So ctp would have to foot the bill hence the gov having to allow ctp prices to go up.

75 is quite normal. People that question that in my opinion don't respect the trade or the industry. As you've been through 3 or 4 years of study. Possibly extra training in new diagnostic equipment etc.
Kinda the same when people question call out fees. We don't stop what where doing, drive to your place of business or home for free.

A quote from you birds "Better it come from the parts anyway...if the profit is in the labour, where's the incentive to get the job done in a timely manner?"
My response " get a guote. That's the incentive. "
You can't hardly say no. That's the incentive. As the client you don't have to accept the quote. You shop around if so inclined and get the quote your after.

It's called a quote. That's the incentive.

As a tradesman, I'm shocked to hear some machanics increase their labour rates based on the fact the customer brings there own parts. I know my mechanic doesn't, though being a perforance shop the hourly rate is soild to start with but so is the quality of the workmanship. As an electrician, if we increased our rate based on the fact the client supplied there own light fittings or switch boards they'd just laugh. The hourly rate set should cover the cost of running the business.
Op as many have said you'll never receive an itemised bill as all trade based businesses buy wholesale and sell retail. Get a quality mechanic, one that has transparency in it rates.

And to add to what Terry said - in NSW there is an actual EPA iPhone app. All you have to do is type in the rego of a smokey/noisey car and press 'send'.
Nek minut, letter in mail.
(As a side note, if you're a car enthusiast in NSW my suggestion would be to download that app, and report as many smokey rust buckets as you can - keep them busy with other things ;-))
What's this app called? Doesn't seem to exist.

4 mouths ago I had rego due on my ute. It increased from 725. ( keep in mind commercials vehicle are slugged higher regardless if its private or business use) to 1024. The cheapest I could find was 1019. When I rang up to clarity all they told me was the government had increased ctp. What they didn't add was "it was at the request of us the insurer's. I haven't had a accident and have spotless 5 yr record yet everything goes up.

Reply to this as well ^^^^^^^
Just an unopen N1 engine.
Like I said before, I'll make sure its 10W40 for the next service. This time should be ok since its winter and I doubt it'll be much of an issue especially the N1 oil cooler is quite big. Even during summer it rarely goes over 75-80degrees on the gauge. Most times it doesnt even move over the 70

5W-30 should be fine. It's more when under load that the thinner oil would start to no protect as much as a thicker oil. Nissan oil is 7.5W-30 for 200SX anyway.
32 gtr's are the same. Factory they run 7.5-30. A car with a new rb would be fine. An old engine with 100000 will have bigger clearances thus requiring a thinker oil.

Yes thats always a problem across the board, Used parts or chinese knock offs. I learnt from my brother you have to be persistent with your panel beater.

Kids these days are slack, Knowing how to change a tyre, come on every car has a manuel. If one cant they shouldnt be driving.
Just the other day across the road from the job site I'm on, this young bloke on his P's called road side assistants to change his tyre. He could possibly of had dirtphobia

Junkie you hit the nail on the head. AAMI, just cars, shannons are all owned by Suncorp Metway. I've spoken about this topic last year and my experience with shannons refusing a claim and what I went through. A quick search and you may find it.
To be honest, we all try and get the best prices but what about when theres an accident,My question is, Do they use original parts?, Is the process simple?
If ones car qualifies for NRMA VVC, there specialty insurance is worth a look.
-
The calls are probably just taken by a generic Suncorp call centre now

hey bob,
love the idea of an R32 GTR register, Once I seen the one for ADM 32's I was quite jealous
-
most if not all nsw hwy patrol cars have number plate recognition. And if they havent yet they'll all be getting retro-fitted.
-
2800 excess, wow. I'd rather cut my leg off then pay that much when an accident occurs.
-
what kind if a comment is that? If you dont like this thread, dont read it.
This forum is by far the worst I've seen, people always disrespecting each other.
Good stuff robbie, cant wait for more

hahaha wtf are you talking about?

Going off your pic's, your car has good clearance around tyres, maybe suspensions to soft. Allowing to much travel.
Just so you know camber arms will make your tyres wear unevenly so you'll need to do regular tyre swaps, Front to back , left to right depending on if your tyres are directional or asymmetrical

Transplant or part out. Once the ralis are damaged, As far as I know the system its a statutory write-off.
It might not be on the WOVR register yet, but when someone goes to get it pink or blueslip for rego the red flags will start flying.
-
lose the 15mm spacers, looks like theres 15mm odd of rim sticking out, just see how well the rim clears the suspension arms etc, on the inside of the arch
hahaha We msg'ed at the same time, The only option left is different rim with smaller offset.
What size are your brakes? how do 18" not clear the brakes?
