  1. if anyone's interested, I have blocked off the bov with a coke can gasket and it's hasn't help much. I did however find that my tps was missing one the two bolts that get undone when adjusting the sensor.
  2. I'm using a stock rb25det auto ecu, but my transmission is 5 speed.
  3. and am I posting in the right spot? sorry guys
  4. before all of this iv just got another question. what gives the signal to increase the rpm at idle when electircs start to get turned on like headlights/high beams and my electric cooling fans? at idle I can switch both fans on and the head lights and the idle will drop. I believe iv missed something when wiring up all sensors.
  5. shit ay, thanks for the input the 31 was running a standard rb25 ecu which is why I kinda ruled out the bov being the problem. unfortunately ill have to weld a tag onto my intake pipe and tap a fitting in so I can recirculate the air.
  6. my boost/vacuum guage shows around 24 in hg vac at idle and increases when I let off the throttle. my bov is venting to amostphere and I read this causes problems however the bov came off my old rb25 r31 which didn't have the idle problem.
  7. hey guys i am almost track ready with my rb25 s13 build but i have a few issues that need sorting first. the main problem is the engine isnt able to catch the falling rpm when coming off the throttle. the engine will idle all day but when i blip the throttle the rpm will increase then fall past the idle and the engine will stall. what voltages should i be seeing coming from the brown and purple plugs for the AAC valve? i have done all the wiring needed for the conversions and believe it could be electrical, if anyone else has an idea of where to look please tell.
  8. well iv just blow the head gasket:( so that could be why it was loosing power at high rpm.. bad compression? iv started ripping the motor apart to check what damage has been done, what else could I be replacing whilst its all apart??
  9. the turbo looks like it's from eBay. it's a gt35 pcp...? sounds nasty. z32 ecus arnt the easiest to find. thanks for your help mate
  10. thanks mate. it has a r33 ecu. I'm looking at getting either the z32 or r32 ecu and going with the nistune chip once i get all the bugs sorted out. iv cleaned the airflow meter with a store bought spray. I hope it's not the coil pacs, there not cheap. I have taken the fuel rain out and looked at the injectors, they are a dull purple and not much information stamped on then.
  11. also, when I first bought it the previously owner had turned the fuel pressure right up and said he was running aftermarket injectors. he had removed the injectors and replaced them with the originals but didn't change the pressure. I have dropped the fuel pressure back to stock. any help is really appreciated
  12. hey everyone. I have a rb25det r31 and just need a bit of help diagnosing this problem. in neutral and in gear: when on the gas it revs smoothly until it reaches 6000rpm then it looses power and it sounds as if its backfiring/misfiring/spluttering. more info .aftermarket turbo .turbosmart boost t .intercooler .sard fuel pressure reg removing the boost t made a difference from 5000 rpm misfire to what it is now at 6000rpm as well as changing the spark plugs and gapping them to .8 with feeler guages. original plugs where at 1.1 gap any help is appreciated. thank you.
  13. R31 club needs an paid email account to register and I'm not buying an email account just for a tacho haha. And I haven't got a wire coming from pin 7 or the female conecter so that diagram won't help either, thanks for the effort though.
  14. All ready stuffed it haha. "Hey all this is my first post so ...LET.. me know if I'm doing it wrong."
  15. Hey all this is my first post so don't, let me know if I'm doing it wrong. Iv just bought a series 2 r31 silo with a rb25det conversion done by previous owner. Apart from the hell dodgy install job the cars sweettt. I went to remove the monster tacho and rewrite the stock one when I ran into a problem. The monster tacho is getting its signal from the 120* degree crank angle sensor which works fine. Iv read you can get the tacho working by using pin 7 being the tacho signal wire from the ecu and a resistor wired correctly... However my ecu doesn't have a wire coming from pin 7. Is there a way to use the crank angle sensor wire to power the stock tacho? as I am unsure of the frequency they both run at.. Thanks everyone.
