  1. Hi Guys,

More of a lurker than anything else, however I use the forum HEAPS and I even went on my first SAU cruise the other day which was an awesome outing and even better people. I just wanted to say something I've thought for a while.

I really admire the community and have half heartedly tried to join multiple times but there was just no easy process which is your biggest problem. Hell, I'm even a member of ARDC and I won't get as much out of my member ship there as I would with SAU. I bet there are a bunch of people out there who would give money if the process was a bit easier.

    Main points:

    1. You need a SUPER EASY process for SAU membership, contributing etc with an easy payment via credit card. Happy to help put something together if you want, just PM me.

    Cheers,

  2. Hey Mate,

Was looking for info on sunroof's and stumbled across this, definitely an amazing build!

I was looking at deleting my sunroof and plexi was looking like the best option and just had a couple of questions around what you thought:

    1. How are you holding the plexi in the sunroof, did you use a mix of bolts and sealant?
    2. I notice you are now going to register the car, is plexi sunroof, rear glass legal for a road car?
    3. I'm in sydney as well with a 32, where did you get your plexi made up?

Either way this thread has definitely helped me out!

  3. Wow. Just called up and was a bit skeptical as I don't have a GTR but they insured my R32 GTST with some of the modifications we have receipts for.

    Currently - Shannons - $2200 p.A

NRMA - $571 P.A comprehensive, insured for more.

I do have my green slip with Shannons, did some one mention that might be problematic when switching comprehensive provider?

Pretty chuffed about this really, hated paying thousands when the car just sat in the garage most of the time... AND this put me in a better discount bracket for having multiple policies with NRMA.

  4. Hey Guys,

Just got a few things for sale which are no longer needed and just taking up space so all offers considered really:

    1. RB20 / 25 turbo Kit - Hi Mount Manifold, ITS turbo (not sure of exact specs), Tial Wastegate. Made about 230kw on an RB20, would also be ideal for an RB25 Nice cheap option - $700
    2. FMIC - It says Greddy on the top but potentially a copy, was in the car when bought so not sure of origin, great condition, some black spray paint on it - $100
    3. D1 Style Catch Can - $50
    4. Tial BOV - $100
    5. Amp and Sub - Fusion FP-600D , Fusion 12" sub and enclosure, not really necessary for a track car - $100
    6. Stock R32 GTST Rims and tyres - taking up space, 2 X good bridgestone potenza Re002's with good tread, 2 x no name chinese brand tyres - $150
    7. Racing Hart Forged CP-F wheels. One rim has a crack, looking at getting this repaired if possible but feel free to make an offer if you want. Staggered 9 / 10" , 35, 42 offset

  5. Hi Terry thanks for the reply, it was great meeting you the other day, I was the guy hanging around out at Todd's with the black R32 GTST when you were checking out the white R32.

What width and model of enkei's are they? Definitely interested.

  6. Hey Everyone,

Recently got rid of some wheels of my R32 GTST and am looking for some replacements ASAP. Must meet the following criteria:

    • 17" only
    • width - will consider 8 - 9 inch wide rims
    • Offsets must suit GTST so around +25 - +30 offsets give or take a few mm
    • Rims must be decent quality / brand as they will be getting tracked
    • Tyres - doesn't need to come with tyres but would be preferable

Have cash waiting and am in Sydney, not really looking at dealing with shipping.

    Cheers!

  7. Hi Guys,

Just got a quick question here about wastegate sizing and options.

To give you a bit of context:

    • Engine: RB20DET
    • Turbo: TD06-20G

We had been recommended a 50mm wastegate and opted for a Turbosmart 50mm and after a few delays we finally got the wastegate but they had sent us the 60mm. I'm getting a little bit impatient to get everything into the car to start driving again so was wondering if the 60mm would be fine or if it would be best to sort it out properly and switch it over for the 50mm.

Does anyone have any input onto the best choice for wastegate size? Turbosmart on their website states:

Big Turbo/Low Boost = Bigger Wastegate
Big Turbo/High Boost = Smaller Wastegate
Small Turbo/High Boost = Smaller Wastegate
Small Turbo/Low Boost = Bigger Wastegate

But doesn't neccesarily translate over to precise measurements.

    Cheers!

  8. Hey Dave,

I considered the hybrid performance manifold as they do look pretty solid compared to other options out there but not quite sure where they are manufactured etc along with not understanding the difference between their manifolds (some looks the same but cost 150 bucks more kind of thing).

In the end went with a 6boost manifold which is solid quality, known to perform and last well (lifetime warranty) and didnt have the guts to try out one of the hybrid manifolds. The guys at 6boost would definitely be able to help make sure it fits in there as well as all manifolds are made to order I think, you can check out a bit more below:

    http://www.automotiveaxis.com/company-profile/6boost/manifolds/

if you go with hybrid, really interested to hear what you think
