Who told you the 15 bar ones flow better? One eBay listing said they are superior to 16 bar ones because they have higher velocity. Higher velocity sounds good but you can get higher velocity when you reduce cross-sectional area and thus increase backpressure so I'm not sure if they actually flow better or not.
I saw the small Apexi GTSt intercoolers new on eBay as a buy it now for $799 but they're over now. I'll have to see if they relist them.
i guess i shouldn't trust the guys from NS.com then.. hehe.
and sorry, by boost leakage i mean the boost holding. say ur runnin 12psi it doesn't drop to 11psi.

Replied to PMs!
Sorry mate i had to replace the clutch fan in my car at the moment with the spare one. mine was starting to crack around the clutch
-
do you use Premium? because it can sometimes stink!!! its just normal tho
-
apparently the 15 bar is better because there is less restriction. i'm also lookin for a FMIC and some people tell me an FMIC is an FMIC as long as it cools the air. and then some say pay the extra and something decent because you'll notice it esp. with boost leakage.
its up to you if you wanna spend the money i guess!!!
the cheaper alternative to the Apexi is a GReddy V-SPL... have a look around for them you can get them for around $1450.
-
yep get someone like a paintshop to do it or if your feelin handy, you'll need primer, sand paper, paint and top coat to make it look decent and also time.

i got it locally... it wasn't realllly cheap... its about the average isn't it?
and yeah... like ylwgtr2 said, that aren't as strong as real C/F... but you will be paying the $$$$ for it.
-
yeah R33 Series 1

picked up a fibreglass bonnet today vented for $740. carbon fibre one was $1200, but its essentially just a fibreglass one with 3 carbon fibre skin layers... so its not really worth the extra $500 or so... so yeah... i guess you save on painting and thats it!!!
-
i'll be boring and stuff it in a R31
anyone got any info on puttin it into a 3 series? E36 i take it?
-
-
Haha there are some crazy people on this forum i tell ya!! would be sooo fun to put it in something like a datto 1600 put probably too much modifications....
240Z looks good for the RB i reckon...
-
where were you 3 months ago? hehe.

hey guys just bought myself another RB25DET that i'm gonna do some work on. was gonna put it in my 33 but thought nah... chuck it in something else!
just wondering what would be a good conversion to do? was thinking R31 but would the engine match a R31 RB30 5 speed box? also thinking 240ZX...
but yeah.. something cheapish to drop one in! any suggestions?

talked to paul at provident today... $2000 for bodykit fitted and painted :

You can get rid of the beep from the key left in the ignition and door open without also killing the lights on reminder beep.
You will need to remove the plastic covers from above and below the steering wheel (6 screws from memory) and unplug the connector leading into the side of the ignition switch. Best to test it before putting everything back together, just in case you have disconnected the courtesy light on the key hole by mistake.
Now if someone could just tell me exactly where to find the little bastard of a box that beeps when you put it into reverse......
Auto Skyline? hehe.. i found the box that makes the reverse beep and disconnected it. all good no beeping in reverse. Went to put my window down... nothin happened... hehehe. its the big box right at the back above the pedals from what i remember and it controls more than just the reverse beep. maybe if you cut one of the wires.
-
hrmm.. mite go to Provident... Procoat sounds abit iffy.. hehe. got some BN side skirts and rear bar that needs sanding and all to fit properly... so need a place that can fit it well!
