  1. This is possibly that very car, although this picture was taken in NSW. I'm not in a position to give much away at this stage, suffice to say the owner is a bloody funny chap, loves big Nissan horsepower and says the GT-R is simply awesome. I'm reporting the story on my site as it develops and I'm hoping to get a ride in this GT-R on the track in the coming weeks - a video will be made... This isn't the car that will be at the Melbourne Motor Show. The link to the story and more pics is R35 GT-R compliance As an ex-R33 GT-R owner I've got more than a soft spot for the R35.
  2. Looks as though the GTR has found a new home. If deal falls through I will re-advertise on the forum.
  3. I am unable to reduce my pics to the size required. If you are interested in the car and want to see some pics please pm me and I'll email them to you direct.
  4. I sent 4 emails with 2 pics to an email. When I tried sending them all it bounced back. Let me know if any problems.
  5. Sorry for leaving the Klms out... Its just gone over 90,000.
  6. This GTR has been my company vehicle for the last 5 years and has reached the end of its finance term. Serviced with Mobil 1 every 5000klms and fastidiously maintained. The few modifications I have made have been to aid driveability and include the following; Bilstein suspension front and rear Whiteline swaybars DBA kangaroo-paw front brake discs AVO intercooler Apexi PFC Apexi N1 cat back exhaust The standard clutch was replaced last year with an Excedy heavy duty (but still organic plate) clutch as the original clutch was beginning to slip. Inside and out it is in immaculate and original condition and includes a Nizmo 320 kph instrument cluster. This is a tight, straight and rattle free GTR. Unless you decide to modify further, this car does not need any money spent on it. I am interested in a quick sale to a genuine buyer, hence the asking price of $33,500. Unfortunately, my photos are "too large" to upload at the moment so I will re-size them tonight and post them tomorrow. In the meantime, if you want to see the photos pm me and I'll send them to you via email.
  7. My experience with the GTR (no remote oil cooler)is as follows, Castrol R 10W-60 - Has good oil pressure showing on the gauge but fuel economy and performance seem to suffer marginally. Just feels less happy to rev. Worst thing about it was that it consistantly had the engine oil temp up around 100 degrees on constant highway speeds and was quick to go higher if pushing the car. Mobil 1 10w-30 - Lower indicated oil pressure when warm but still acceptable. Revs easier but the biggest difference is that the oil temp sits around 85 degrees on the highway and is much slower to rise when the car is pushed hard. I am very specific about using the 10w-30 and not the other Mobil 1 types. Personally, I feel far more comfortable with a little less indicated oil pressure but cooler running and more stable oil temp. I've used all sorts of oil in all sorts of cars and they have always come out black (even with new cars) so its never been a concern for me. Only car that I've ever seen drop clean looking oil after a service was a holden ute that ran on LPG. I cant fault the Mobil 1 but having said that would be keen to give the Redline stuff a try at some stage and see if theres a difference.
  8. Gojira...So sorry mate. I was actually putting together a quick response while at work because I thought it was an important topic. Thanks for your response, it displayed an abundance of intelligence and maturity beyond your years!
  9. Personally, I find it very difficult to read or watch any of the media reports on driving and accidents these days. They treat us all like ignorant morons trying to have us believe that speed and speed and of course speed kill. There is no foolproof answer, until cars are banned or fully automated there is no way that you can stop "accidents" happening. To me the only logical answer is driver training. No written test will teach you how to drive and being an expert reverse parker or putting your indicator on for seven "clicks" before the corner won't help much either. Education will teach people to respect their lives, respect their cars and give them some hope of getting out of or not creating dangerous situations. But, we are all being brainwashed to accept "safety cameras" and no tolerance speed limits and the huge revenues that are generated as a consequence. Where does the money go? Why not make advanced driving courses available to all new drivers with the millions generated? Do the governments in this country really care who dies or is it just a convenient way of pulling the wool over our eyes and collecting ever more? You can't make dying illegal, its not something you can legislate against. You can't outlaw car accidents because the very nature of an accident is that its an unpredictable and uncontrollable event. Fining people for going 3kph over the speed limit wont save lives!!!!! Driver education and changing fundamentally how a young person approaches driving will and I dont think that can be argued against. I get so angry when thinking about this topic. I feel like we are all being ripped off by the morons we vote into government.
  10. I have a minor but frustrating gear selection issue at the moment that I thought I'd run past you all, perhaps you've experienced something similar or have a known cure for it. I had a new Daiken Exedy H/D clutch installed about 2 months ago. Clutch works well, but immediately after the installation first gear became quite difficult to select. You have to push the shifter quite hard and have three or four attempts to get it into gear. Alternatively, its easier to select third and then with the clutch still in it will go straight into first. The really strange thing is that if your in first or second and have to brake strongly, putting the clutch in at the last moment to prevent stalling it becomes quite difficult to get out of gear...and on occasions with the clutch fully in will start to move off...like an auto in drive at idle! The slave cylinder is not leaking and the system has been bled twice so it shouldnt be either of those issues and only does this after putting the clutch in later than in normal driving. Changing gears is fine once on the move and things improve as the box warms up. Prior to the new clutch, I had no syncro issues, no gear change issues. It was the normal, occasionally notchy GTR 5 speed. I have had the rod linking the clutch pedal to the clutch master cylinder adjusted and this seemed to make some difference but not a lot. I am running redline lightweight shockproof gear oil. Has anyone experienced anything similar or have any ideas? I have already done a number of searches on this site for help but can find nothing that offers a cure...
  11. The last point of Pentae's that I would like to address is his comment about the 33 gtr "driving like a boat". Is this the same r33 gtr that was the first standard production car to break the 8 minute lap record at the Nurburgring? The 32 gtr didn't do it and I'm damn sure no Sylvia ever would or could, so what do they drive like? I'm assuming you've got extensive experience driving gtr's...or am I assuming wrongly?
  12. Passionate response which I respect but at 2 cents its an overpriced opinion.
  13. Hey Pentae...check the weight difference between a 34gtr and the 33gtr...not much in it. Not much in it between the 32 and the 34 or the 33 and the 32 or whatever way you want to look at it. Get the specs for the size as well and you'll see there is not much in it with the 34 and the 33. Realistically, as with many cars the styling will make one look bigger than the other when in fact there is little difference. The performance times between all the turbo gtr's is within a few tenths for 1/4 mile, 0-100kph etc etc, so I can only assume you are suggesting that all of the gtr's are some of the slowest performance cars made by nissan...and here I was thinking they were the fastest...silly me! Better go and buy a commodore...
  14. Gotta put my two bits in here. 32 looks old and isn't dating as well as the 33. There is all of 50 kgs difference in the weight so big deal...thats the reality of it which is so often blown out of proportion. If your that worried about that small an amount of weight and think you can tell the difference in the real world then leave your girlfriend at home or go on a diet, or drive around on empty... The 33 has a better more comfortable driving position, better less dated interior, faster attessa, better ride due to slightly longer wheelbase and due to these factors would probably have a slight advantage on the track ( standard cars - same driver ). Both are great and lets face it very very very similar cars but for my money give me the 33, it looks like it worth a few bob.
