+1 He's organised several dyno days and is a whiz on the sausage sizzle. If you're having issues re: these seat rails, cold comfort for you probably, however I'd be very surprised if he's deliberately trying to scam you. Hope it all sorts itself out.

Guys and gals, lets not talk dollars, or what free gift you should get (how about some steak knifes? ). It's way too early in the game for that, I'm certain what ever price that's arrived at will be the minimum necessary amount, for the moment lets see if we can get the wheels rolling in earnest first.

If you're planning on getting in to events/competition make sure it meets the appropriate CAMS/FIA regs. But if it's just for peace of mind at sprints / drift don't worry about them
-
Ohhhh, that Troy, cool cool. Better watch out though, he might try and make it a RB20 *ONLY* club.

This dude is the like the MacGyver of the "sex-aid" industry! Coming (pardon the pun) to the Royal Show 2008... Read it all here: http://www.news.com.au/adelaidenow/story/0...5005962,00.html

Sorry, I think I've missed something here, who's Troy and what "updates" are waiting to hear from him on?
-
Because the R32 was too complete, the bugger needs something to tinker with, I'm surprised he's gone this long without a project on the go!

Obviously we'd have to get the club off the ground first, and if nothing else it'd hopefully be a cheaper way to get a CAMS license in the beginning, as you say there should be enough momentum at first to organise events but of course for some people "the passion" (to steal a phrase from Shannons) will wane and that's when new people will need to step up to the plate. Members can't expect that those on the committee are in for a life-long commitment to "organise sh*t" for them, if a small number of members aren't willing to do more then any club will fail, the Falcon GT club has obviously got some lazy arse members. Conversely you can't expect members to sign their lives away, if we had 50 members in year one, and bugger all the next then so be it at lest we've had one good year which is a darn site more than we have now. The club doesn't all have to be about track days, I know there's plenty of Vic members who are in it for the social aspect, i.e. bbq's, official road-trips and cruises (where non-member drivers can't attend due to club insurance reasons). We already get good attendances at them so provided membership is reasonably price (not something we should get too hung up on right now though) and the events are good I can't see why we wouldn't attract enough people that way alone.

Interesting savage, it was puzzling my because it looked quite crude, and was very heavy, but looked too good to be a DIY.

Sorry to hear that mate, I can empathise, Deluxe and I were recently victims too literally in our own backyard in the same area. We got off with damaged doors. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...howtopic=185076

I6 Falcon items can be chopped and used, if you're struggling to find them reasonably priced drag the old one in to SuperCheap, rat around their bins for one the right shape but be mindful of hose diameter.

I'd 100% be in, and would be willing to help out where I can, esp if it gets up and running. I left Vic just as they were getting on steam and it's always bothered me the lack of something here. Not to cast any blame of course, it's quite the undertaking. My observation of Vic's success, from the outside and via a good friend there, has come from a core of highly dedicated people to push things through. They spent some time within other clubs first and learnt the ropes before striking out on their own, and of course maintained those links ever since. I'm not saying this is necessarily the model for us, but something to keep in mind, as such one avenue may be to explore options involving the SSCSA. Although they have some high fees they're huge and have one hell of a clubhouse (nice and convenient location for me too ) I believe VMAX is their "young-uns" club for those of us who aren't doctors or lawyers and drive Morgans.

I reckon I've got one of them under the driver's side dash, saw it when I ripped out a larger white box responsible for the reverse beeper (c'mon Nissan it aint no truck!), which had a shit load more wires going in and out than you'd think necessary but everything still works (cept beeper of course) so I'm happy.

#warning : From Sa Police Regarding Recent Skyline Thefts
Oosh replied to Howie's topic in South Australia
Your maths is criminal, $50 to $150 is a 200% increase. -
Thanks for your support peoples. We're near the city, Unley area, nothing was taken from my car so far as I can tell not a lot in there really. I don't think even got inside mine as I'm pretty sure the alarm went off as soon as they opened the door. The break in to the car, even the damage itself, doesn't bother me that much. It's the fact it happened in my own backyard that sucks the hardest!
-
Got woken up to my car alarm going off and somebody running down our gravel drive-way past my bedroom window early this morning. Both Deluxe (my housemate) and my cars had been broken in to, but it doesn't look like anything'd been taken, they'd been through his car first, and then mine when the alarm tripped. Found a sort of homemade knife in the driveway they must have used for the dirty deed and a dropping it off at the police today. Our cars are both at the rear of the property, down a long gravel drive, son's of bitches got some balls so as if you didn't already know, watch out people and keep your cars safe. My alarm saved the day here, so make sure you all have a good one fitted, no excuses.

Last I heard gave me the feeling he just doesn't want to sell it, but we shall see, also the previous court case seemed to highlight he wasn't all in the wrong, some slimey developer mucking about was at issue, so don't go TOO hard on the old fella...

I'm pretty sure AB:E is what's mandated by CAMS, but you might want to check that, Dry Chem is good on Liquids and that's what you're going to worry about most.
-
Disclaimer: I'm not a professional re: Fire Extinguishers So I offer this in good faith, but I *might* just be talking crap, so do your own research before making any decisions. The above being said: 1A 10B:E means it'll do a small class A fire and larger (but still smallish) B,C,D,E fires. Classes: A - Wood, paper, etc. B - Liquids C - Gas D - Metal (these are toughest and most incl. this one won't do much good) E - Electrical F- Cooking Oils fats - That's where the blanket comes in. These extinguishers are just good enough to stop a fire getting hold if you move quick enough, but not stop a blaze, that's what the Firey's are for so don't be a hero! Be aware A:BE dry chemical is super fine, goes EVERYWHERE, and is not real nice on electronics. So keep it away from your brand new plasma (unless that's on fire). That's why most business places use Water and CO2, so you might want to consider that around the home, but it isn't as versatile or as effective in most cases. Just to reiterate: Disclaimer: I'm not a professional re: Fire Extinguishers

True. In fairness to GW they could still be producing accurate power figures with dodgy torque. But they really shouldn't be putting it on their charts. But we've gone way off topic (my fault ).
-
This dyno run from your sig?458Nm @ 126km/h 145kW @ 126km/h (based on the graph) Putting the figures thru the magic formula gives 2900rpm for peak torque. Now peak power was 172kW @ 156km/h, which'd mean peak power would be at 3500rpm (2900 * 126/156) and I don't reckon there's been a turbo RB yet which developed peak power that low. And working that back in you should of then had 467Nm at that point, 9Nm higher than you "peak", how's that work? In short, those torque figures are bunk, and Mr West (as nice an old codger as he is) needs to get his dyno looked at. Those WRXs only further highlight the issue. This part of the reason people have dummy spits when they go see Shaun and their "figures reads low man!", anyone remember that bloke's "330RWKW SR20DET Bluebird"?
-
You said it, didn't have time to do the math earlier, although I came out with 2674 rpm (near enough to 2500 rpm ).So I'd say he's making more power (he'd want to at 22psi). Torque measurements are notoriously inaccurate on chassis dyno's regardless, there's VERY few (only a handful in this country) that can reliably measure drive line characteristics, which is necessary to get a good torque figure given all the multiplications, when you look at the math power figures don't suffer nearly as much. At the risk of starting another chapter of that never ending argument, it's power that matters (and where it's delivered) any way... Autospeed have a couple of good articles worth reading on this and related issues: * Power, Please.... * Power vs. Torque Part 1 * Power vs. Torque Part 2 * The Best Performance Determinant

Probably just a shitty arc job with almost zero penetration. 550Nm, maybe in 1st gear, those numbers don't match unless he transplanted a tractor engine in there.

Nah, I saw it on OCAU, posted by someone who saw it on LS1.com.This genius ideas is just doing the rounds.
