  1. Hey, Just wanted to invite everyone to our new forum at www.jdmoc.com! We just launched a few days ago and it's already growing very quickly. I created it based on the fact that there doesn't seem to be a worldwide JDM community on the internet to talk about general issues and all types of cars and parts from Japan. Anyways, back to preparing for my frist drag racing event with the GTR tomorrow, wish me luck! See you around, Ryan
  2. My R32 GTR seems to have some sort of vacumm leak, it's very spiratic, symptoms are: - when starting the car when it's cold it will start making a high pitched noise, i can stop it by blipping the throttle - after i giver a little on the highway it makes the same noise and i can again stop it by blipping the throttle - when i'm anywhere above 0 boost you can hear a whirring noise which I never heard when I first got the car. It's not your normal turbo spool noise, it's much louder. I've even gotten some comments from people driving next to me thinking I have a huge single turboed car. Although it's not nearly as 'high-pitched' like as the 2 points above. I'm not sure if it's the turbo or something to do with the engine, because you can hear it when I'm not boosting but then it sounds not nearly as bad when I'm on boost. Very confused here, any help would be great! Thanks.
  3. well it turned out to be something else...so the input shaft doesn't need to be modified at all
  4. yeah the bolts were all the way in, shouldn't be a problem there, but we're going ahead and taking 5mm off the input shaft sleeve the bearing and sleeve are finally coming in tomorrow, should be installing it all again tomorrow night. will let you know what happens! thanks again
  5. okay thanks we'll get the bolts modified as well. it must have been the wrong clutch sleeve that casused the wear on the input shaft sleeve then i guess. would that be why?
  6. For anyone here that has an OS Giken twin plate fitted in their car, did you have to cut down the part of the input shaft where the release bearing slides on? We finished the install and started the car and had some loud grinding, so ripped everything apart again and it turns out the brand new release bearing is pouched as it was rubbing on the pressure plate. I also found out the wrong part number was installed for the release bearing sleeve (well not wrong but a different one than what OS Giken says on their site). Could this be the reason why it looks like it was grinding on the input shaft sleeve? The car is an '89 GTR. Thanks..
  7. no sound clips or anything at all guys? any of the mines r34?
  8. Might be getting a R32 GTR which has a rollcage currently which would mean it must of had some serious mods at some point. But the compression check was perfect. What I want to know is what parts should I be replacing before it gets sent out from Japan? What is most likely to break down under that kind of power? The car has less than 100k on it though. So axels, pumps, etc etc?
  9. i'll look out for that one as well. i'm running a greddy evo on my wrx right now and love the sound, not loud at all
  10. Bringing in a R32 GTR in the next month or so and I'd like to get a decently quiet exhaust for it before it's sent overseas. I'm looking at the Mine's system and have tried to make out bits from the ultimateskyline video but was wondering if anyone has this exhaust or has any sound/video clips of it? Thanks!
  11. i'd go with 5300k if you want white, i have 6000k and it's quite light blue
  12. i can very easily get the 18s for around $1800 USD, don't know about the 17s and 16s though
  13. yea i guess that was more of my question. like if i were to go with the size stated above and get tires widths the same on the rear and front, would that work alright?
  14. Would the Nismo LM GT4 Rims fit on a R32 GTR? Also heard that R32s need the same wheel size all around, what difference would it make if my rears were 1 inch larger? Sizes are: # 2 18x8.5 +25 18inch front wheels (18.1 lbs each) [Recommended tire size: 245/40] # 2 18x9.5 +30 18inch rear wheels (18.9 lbs each) [Recommended tire size: 275/40] Also what about the 16 inch ones? I'm assuming they would not/just barely fit?
  15. thanks for the responses do any of you have email addys or websites to companys that would be able to export parts out? have to ask them a few questions chances are i'm going to get a bunch of replacement parts with my car when it's sent out to save on shipping and prepare for things breaking, i'll cross my fingers though! hopefuly a 4.0 grade car won't have much of that i'll sure miss my rex though
  16. Hey guys, I'm in Canada and going to be getting an R32 GTR early next year. There's really only one problem that alot of us might have here.. parts. So seeing as you guys have alot there already, where would the best place be to order parts? From anything from a water pump to a fender. Speed in getting them would be a big deal as well, can;t go without not driving it for too long if something major happens Nissan dealerships here would be useless and there aren't a whole lot of Skyline junk cars to rip spare parts out of down in the united states.. Any help or advice would be appreciated! -Ryan
  17. not alot of autocross fans i assume?
  18. How does the R32 GTR do for Autocross? Getting a new car to replace my WRX and it's on my list...
