  1. Wow the distance you guys can run is huge. I've just started trying to get fitter, today is day 1 of not smoking, and have been going for 5km walk most mornings with the missus and bub, but this week start work at 7, so CBF with an hour walk in the morning. Instead I've been doing a shorter 2.5km one at a quicker pace, with some jogging thrown in, and can only go about 600m before I need to cut back to a quick walk for a couple of hundred meters, then make myself go again.

I know that'll pick up, especially with not smoking, but atm it's nothing compared to you guys. I've never been particularly fit, and most years at the start of summer I think of doing something about it, but this year with having a daughter I have motivation to really do something about it.

  2. spotted bunch of nerds walking around curtin last night, in full chain mail and armour with huge double handed steel swords, some with shields etc.

then watched them on security cameras attacking each other in the park. wtf! apparently its some real life version of dungeons and dragons.

    ROFL that's awesome!

PS: It's called live-action role playing

  3. Yeah, I'd stay away from Lockridge or Balga/Westminster. Most suburbs have their good and bad, just need to try to pick the area of each suburb. I've heard lots of bad problems about Armadale, but lived there for 6 months and didn't have a single problem, only moved because I was working in Joondalup. Caught the train to and from work for about half of that time while I didn't have a license and didn't have a single problem. Have heard dodgy things about Bassendean too, but at least the street I live on is quiet, except for the occasional douchebag deciding they need to floor it out of the slow point outside my house.

  4. i don't. the way i see it is that there are too many morons on the road that casually speed where ever they go. many of them could do with a bit of a wake up call.

This. I did when I was younger and more likely to be ~10-20 over the speed limit most places, but these days I don't speed and have more moved to the thinking that they're speeding anyway, that's the risk they've taken and should cop it on the chin when they're caught. Maybe that's 'unAustralian', but meh, whatever, not speeding is a pretty simple rule.
