  1. Hey folks,

I'm trying to get a replacement for my thermostat. It's does not seem to open consistently. Sometimes temp raises above normal before opening, radiator resovoir fills.

I know our part number is 21200-JK20A.

There are a couple of Mishimoto ones that are not exact fit.

This one's enclosure is too thin. (SKU: MMTS-350Z-07),

This one runs too cold and in winter engine constantly tries to warm up. (MMTS-370Z-10L)

    Good read

    https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v36-2007-08/468030-v36-vq35hr-thermostat-install-warning.html

I'll ring the stealership tomorrow to see if they might have the part.

Does anyone have any leads on procuring a thermostat?

    Thanks!

    Elcid

  2. Hey Awsam,

The replacement worked perfect. Exact hardware match and works well now. No constantly ON fans. Checked when the engine was cold, with (both fans on) and without A/C (fans off) - works well. Will be confirming that the fans turn on when the engine gets hot too. Should be fine, will report back if not.

Use this vid for detail of removal process :

Images of the part attached. The unmarked one is the new one. I bought this : https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/144660931416?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=ywpbmkztsqc&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=JqKD_6noRQW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

    Happy DIY-ing!

  3. Some info to share after a bit of research:

The updated Nissan OEM part number for my 2007, V36 350GT is 214934GA0A (old part number is 21493EH10A) - Circa $100 to $200 AUD dependant on brand/quality

The interchangeable part is (as seen here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004459559212.html) : 1355A408 (Cooling Fan Control Module For Mitsubishi Lancer 02-06 ) - Circa $30-40 (AUssie stock and free delivery) example : https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/153550014872

Both these parts look identical, however I'll be purchasing the MIsubishi part number. The OEMs supplier is the same for Nissan/Infiniti/Mitsubishi - Calsonic Kansei part# 21493

FYI My fan controller needs changing as the fan is always on.

    Happy DIY-ing folks!

  5. Hey @awsam,

Trust your supper problem is long gone now. However, how much reduction in power is experienced ? Any detail you can share will be great.

    Thanks mate.

How did your firmware update go @charlie200?

    Cheers

For those NZ folks... I'm going to attempt the firmware update in Auckland through a GTR accredited Nissan dealer. I've been living with the low rpm lurch for a while now and isn't too big a deal, yet. Will be interesting to see how it goes - there's a tonne of these around town now so surely i'm not the first to approach them with this.
