*update* while working on something else, I found that the bottom plug that goes to the Drivers side fan was loose. Left fan was not working. Please ensure you use extra force to push the plug in. Once secure, it will be hard to pull out.

Not taking the risk I have ordered from Nissan CBR. They are shipping the part from Nissan VIC.
Items ordered for a total cost of $110.95 :
21200-JK20A -Thermostat
1305031U00 - Gasket
Will keep you posted on the fitment.

Hey folks,
I'm trying to get a replacement for my thermostat. It's does not seem to open consistently. Sometimes temp raises above normal before opening, radiator resovoir fills.
I know our part number is 21200-JK20A.
There are a couple of Mishimoto ones that are not exact fit.
This one's enclosure is too thin. (SKU: MMTS-350Z-07),
This one runs too cold and in winter engine constantly tries to warm up. (MMTS-370Z-10L)
Good read :
https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-sedan-v36-2007-08/468030-v36-vq35hr-thermostat-install-warning.html
I'll ring the stealership tomorrow to see if they might have the part.
Does anyone have any leads on procuring a thermostat?
Thanks!

Ah nice one!
Interesting your clip broke, maybe quality of the plastic might be inconsistent...

Fan turns on perfect! So all good

Hey Awsam,
The replacement worked perfect. Exact hardware match and works well now. No constantly ON fans. Checked when the engine was cold, with (both fans on) and without A/C (fans off) - works well. Will be confirming that the fans turn on when the engine gets hot too. Should be fine, will report back if not.
Use this vid for detail of removal process :
Images of the part attached. The unmarked one is the new one. I bought this : https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/144660931416?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=ywpbmkztsqc&sssrc=2349624&ssuid=JqKD_6noRQW&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

Great idea on the PTFE lubricant too. Agree, avoid WD -40 since it will get worse over time..

Lol, will keep you posted mate.
If I recall right the squeaks can be solved the using a long straw nozzled spray grease , spraying straight into the fan motor.

Some info to share after a bit of research:
The updated Nissan OEM part number for my 2007, V36 350GT is : 214934GA0A (old part number is 21493EH10A) - Circa $100 to $200 AUD dependant on brand/quality
The interchangeable part is (as seen here: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005004459559212.html) : 1355A408 (Cooling Fan Control Module For Mitsubishi Lancer 02-06 ) - Circa $30-40 (AUssie stock and free delivery) example : https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/153550014872
Both these parts look identical, however I'll be purchasing the MIsubishi part number. The OEMs supplier is the same for Nissan/Infiniti/Mitsubishi - Calsonic Kansei part# 21493
FYI My fan controller needs changing as the fan is always on.
Happy DIY-ing folks!

Interesting that the Plenum bolts solved his issue : https://g35driver.com/forums/engine-drivetrain-forced-induction/340934-hesitation-bucking.html
Thought it might be of interest in case some have not solved the issue.FYI - My (newer, second) 2007 G35 does not have this issue.

Also by the way of an update, she's followed me to ACT!

Hey mate, have you heard back? This just cemented my decision - Sticking to OEM. Was thinking of making a minor upgrade to these slotted ones...but won't now.
-
So @moleman_1, did you follow up on why they couldn't do an update on your car? I believe there should be a firmware version or something similar they can check / read out to tell if the fix has been applied to your car prior ?
-
nice one, thanks mate.

Trust your supper problem is long gone now. However, how much reduction in power is experienced ? Any detail you can share will be great.
Thanks mate.
How did your firmware update go @charlie200?
Cheers

I've been living with the low rpm lurch for a while now and isn't too big a deal, yet. Will be interesting to see how it goes - there's a tonne of these around town now so surely i'm not the first to approach them with this.

Hey, that will be awesome Charlie! Thanks for keeping us informed and look forward to it.
I will be very keen for it if it doesn't stop being the beast it is when floored

The parts fit perfectly. You will need to use a little grey silicone RTV to keep the gasket in place while re-assembling.
