  1. nah im pretty sure its a manual.. yeh its a sweeeeet looking car.. theres so many things to consider! fuel/insurance as well as the fact that the gtr will look like most R33s on the road.. on the other hand the sexier R34 which is still probably pretty fast... decisions, decisions i just dont wanna spend over 30k and get a car that gets burnt by a stubby shorted yobbo in his commodore.. at the same time its gonna look smooth.. arrrggghhhh im losing alot of hair off my already nearly bald head..
  2. my beasty civic gets me 500km on a 40L tank! gone will be those days once i get my skyline.. its looking like GTT all the way..
  3. its a 65L tank isnt it? damn.. thats some really crap economy.. 200ks for 65L
  4. ferni.. or anyone else.. is the GTR REALLY bad on fuel economy.. say.. compared to the GTT?
  5. hahah well it is for daily use.. but i plan to race it on the track on the weekends.. the GTT is sounding more like the way to go.. my friend reckons theres many dodgy R33GTRs out there too and told me to be careful.. GTT feels faster eh... sounds good to me!
  6. yeh GTR do have better re-sale i guess.. bah decisions decisions its like 50/50 on which car!?!
  7. yeh this GTT has a full c-west kit.. it looks really nice.. im just worried it might be sacrificing too much performance..
  8. aaarrrrggghhhhhhhh yeh R33s are so common... but R33GTRs arent common.. but most knobs cant tell the difference.. until you blow em away.. if i dont list the mods that means my insurance will be null if i make a claim right?!
  9. im asking coz i was gonna pretend i got a cheap quote somewhere else when i asked for a quote! i've heard some dodgy stories about insurance companies quoating different $ all the time and even lower if you say you got a cheaper quote elsewhere! cerealkiller.. you didnt answer the first question.. R33 GTR or R34 GTT?!
  10. I'm torn between beauty (R34 GTT) and Brawn (R33 GTR).. Although apparently the above GTT will be pretty quick... but how quick? If i'm going to spend the $ I wanna know whats the best deal.. they're both roughly the same price.. Also INSURANCE?! If i got quoted 3k for the GTR what will the GTT cost me?
  11. Hello All As my previous thread mentioned, I'm looking to buy a skyline, preferably the R33 GTR but I've found a very nice R34 GT-T. R33 GTR: Stock Standard R34 GT-T: Nissan ER34 GT-T Single Turbo 2.5L with minor modifications as below : [Wheels] Rays Wheels : Nismo LM-GT2 [Tire] Toyo : Transas Cruz 17x8 , 225/45/17 Front; 17x9, 255/40/17 Back Engine Modifications: Turbosmart Boost Controller C's Short Shifter Apexi Pod filter Custom 3" Dump Pipe Custom 3" Front Pipe High Flow Cat (3") Xforce 4.5" Stainless Steel Muffler Suspension: Lowered springs Interior: Momo Gear Knob Blitz FATT Turbo Timer Stereo: Sony Xplod Head Unit Sony Xplod 6 Disc Changer CDXT69X JBL 3 Way Speaker Exterior: C-West Front Bar C-West Side Skirts C-West Rear Pods C-West Rear Bar R34 GTR Rear Wing Alarm : Autowatch Blue Series How much I can expect to pay for insurance with the R34 Gt-T. The GTR is gonna cost me 3K. Will the GT-T be much cheaper? Also obviously the GTR will be faster. Will the above mentioned GT-T still be fast? i.e. will it still blow away your average hoon cars? Feedback will be greatly appreciated! I gotta make a decision really soon and go for it! PS: Even though no one really helped, thanks to all for the advice on the GTR insurance!
  12. well ive saved up for it. i just cant afford 3.5k a year insurance.. im working full time but doing my masters part time.. higher education isnt cheap.. plus i'm in the process of buying a house.. that isnt cheap either =( i'm assuming fuel and servicing the old godzilla isnt gonna be easy on the wallet either.. BUT you only live once.. so you gotta live hard.. heeeellllppppppppp
  13. guys thanks to everyone who has replied and is trying to help me.. BUT I need someone to tell me where i can insure it in my dad's name and be listed.. if such a place exists.. even though just cars and famous are the best out there.. 3.5k is still looking too scary =(
  14. I didn't think hbf/sgio/etc etc insured skylines... they knocked me back anyway =(
  15. Ok I realise there are heaps of threads on insurance but I couldn't find the answers I'm looking for and as time runs out I'm getting more and more desperate. I've found the (affordable) car of my dreams. R33 GTR V-Spec. Stock standard. The usual problem is insurance. I've tried everyone from famous to just cars to shannons to metway to etc etc etc. The quotes are all around near the 4k mark and simply out of my budget. So I've decided to try the old trick of insuring the car in my dad's name and being listed as a nominated driver. All the insurers I've talked to are willing to do that, however they still base the quote on the youngest driver a.k.a. me. I'm 22, 5 years driving experience with no accidents and the usual few 10km/h over the limit speeding fines. The problem is for the 5 years I've been driving I'm been a listed driver on my parent's policy so I don't even think I have any NCB to speak of. Hence the pain of insuring the GTR in my name. The question is - is there any insurer out there at all that will insure it in my dads name and for a small (emphasis on the word small) fee will include me as a listed driver on the policy. Somebody please help and asap! .. cause there's been alot of interest in the car I'm after.. and it will probably get sold soon.. and I can't purchase it without insurance. Thanks heaps all you skyline freaks!
