  1. really? how can the smaller housing cause boost creep? :blush: i did so much reading before i paid for it and didnt find anyone with this problem.

    the guys from crd said they had done alot of testing and fiddling etc. surely they would have noticed something as serious as boost creep?

    iv got all the supporting mods to hit 250rwkw, that is my goal for 16psi and ill be happy ;)

    * High temp ceramic coated twin outlet dump / engine pipe suit Garrett turbine housing

    TOTAL KIT PRICE $2470.00

    and the silicone elbow for another $100. its a modified gt3071r with all the genuine garret housings, CRD have tinkered with the housing sizes and they say have found the best combo for an rb25det! lose practically no response and gain a shitload of power! iv ordered one and should be here within the week!

    im in the process of swapping a new rb25 into my s2 r33, as i got low compression issues in current motor.

    i have been doing some reading and ppl with similar setups to mine are making good power with the gt3037 turbo

    i currently have a kkr430 that has shit itself (white smoke out the back - will never touch kkr again only had it for like 4 months) and im in the market for a new turbo. What other turbos would you's recommend for me? I have around $2500 max to spend, i don't wan't a crazy lag monster, but dont mind a bit of lag for a bit more top end.

    my current setup is

    splitfires

    vipec ecu

    bigger injectors (stock ones bored out to just under 500cc i believe)

    walbro pump

    i think thats the important things.. then fmic exhaust etc obviously.

    any help greatly appreciated. i know i dont know much about this area of cars atm but am trying to learn as much as i can. thanks again.

    got a engine with 1 cyl down to like 80psi atm, it had 80 psi when it was tuned the mods are

    fmic

    aftermarket fuel pump

    bigger injectors

    kkr430 turbo

    vipec ecu tuned to 10 and 16 psi

    splitfires

    full exhaust etc

    i made 250hp on 10psi and 285 hp on 16psi. im getting a new engine fitted soon ( stock rb25)

    what power can i expect? is there any bottle necks in this setup? am gonna hold out til the rudd payout lol and then spend a bit more on it

  5. hey guys just put new split fire coil packs in my car and my mate did a compression test on my r25det s2 while he was at it

    it got 150 - 150 - 150 - 150 - 100 - 150 - 150

    he put oil in the bore and it went up to like 130-140 he said.

    He is saying its probably the rings, but best to take it to a shop to find out.

    what are my options? how much would it be for a mechanic to rip my engine apart find the problem and fix it?

    budget is fairly limited, cheapest safe option here is what im looking for that will fix the problem.

    any help / suggestions appreciated

  6. yeh mate internal wastegate at the moment, iv been well informed about the boost issues. read your thread too.

    at the moment going off my boost guage it doesnt go past 12psi, reckon that will be a problem? mate said he has seen them creep to 18psi :S

    also with the ecu im getting (vipec) it doesn't use an AFM, its map sensored or whatever its called (don't really know much at all about this - anyone who is bored feel free to explain it to me, i need to do alot of reading over the next few days !).

    So you think il need a new fuel pump definitely, il see how it goes on the dyno and post results etc over the weekend!\
