Hey, I was just wondering if you guys would know if Just cars would allow Viper alarms, because they have all black wires... Thought id just ask b4 i called them up
Thanks, Nick.
i know this thread is getting a bit old now but thought this information straight from the Just Car Insurance website may still be useful to some people:
Does my car require an immobiliser? When obtaining a quote either over the phone or via the internet, you will be informed as to whether an immobiliser is required to be fitted to your car. If so, it will need to meet the Australian Standards for immobilisers (AS 4601:1999). You can obtain further information about Australian Standard immobilisers from http://www.carsafe.com.au
Question still not answered? See below or please ask a Just Car Insurance operator.
I might also ad that there is no reason you can just get an approved Australian Standards immobiliser installed under the "Immobilise Now!" program and then go and install a much nicer viper alarm system for all the bells and whistles...
If you go for an immobiliser with a 'transponder' tag on your keyring then you wont even notice its there and you can still use an alarm with nice remotes and stuff to open, close, chirp, alarm, boot release, wind up windows, lcd screen, whatever you like!!

Trust TD05-16G (no boost controller, peaking at 12psi then dropping to 9)
Trust cast dump pipe (came with turbo kit)
Blitz Front mount intercooler
Trust Power extreme exhaust (with 1" silencer plug in rear muffler, standard cat still)
This car has not been tuned with the standard computer back in (had to take out eManage Ultimate when i got done by EPA a while ago, along with all other mods )!
It was put on the dyno to check out AFR's...
148.6rwkw @ approx 5500rpm
3800N (not on this chart)

probly just checking if the driver was also the owner!

Hi um i dunno if this helps but i had 3 1/2" catback then i gat the epa notice, so i had a good look at what i had under the car and found a Flange plate just under the the rear axel that had the cannon attatched, so i went to an exhaust place and got them to make the back bit out of 2 1/2" with a nice big quite muffler. It cost me 140 but at least they done what i wanted other places wanted me to replace the lot for 350!. Anyway the test showed a nice quiet 80 db.
I noticed that i had no power, no noise and no fun. so as soon as i passed the test i chucked the cannon back on all better now, and when i get another notice probably next week i already have the solution!
i got tested at 100dB with my Trust Power Extreme Cat back, Blitz Front pipe, and Trust Dump... went down to the local exhaust shop and got a weasly bit of 2" from the rear flange with a fairly pissy round standard muffler and they re-tested it at 85dB! only cost about $120 and very suprisingly the car doesnt seem to of lost any noticable power!! however its quiter than a standard ford laser!
Also, aparently Silencer plugs WILL NOT PASS according to the EPA noise tester i went to! Mine only brought the noise down to 94dB anyway but the guy said even if they're welded in they're not allowed to pass them any more!
Does the EPA actually get the car on a hoist or take it for a drive during a full emissions test??? (obviously this is different to getting a RWC)

all the big guns and car audio supplier stands should be at semi finals...
heard of a few sick cars that werent finished in time for melb but worth seeing later in the year...
also the car audio distributers seemed to give it a miss due to rediculous costs for doing displays but will still do semi's though

there looks to be a fault in that casting
Have a look a the left hand side between the 2 ribs. it looks like it is about 2 mm thick.
imagine how many pumps came out of the same cast!
oh oh!!

any autobarn store should be able to supply you with the proper plug'n'play harness now for most vehicles to suit both the normal and the ultimate emanage...
at least then u dont have to cut any wires in the car!
-
u could use a nippondenso pump from VPW
part no EFI-300... rated at 300L/h and just as quiet as the standard pump! (if not quieter)
physically looks almost identical to the standard pump and therefore it bolted in 100%
and its still got the strainer style bottom on it to sit on the bottom of the tank
should be able to purchase these from any performance shop / autobarn that deals with VPW...

Wrong, Only gts-t Type M has the 4 piston caliper like the z32.
Regular gts-t like mine, have the s13 200sx brake.
i believe that is true from the factory but nearly every single r32 gtst i know has the z32 brakes...
they cant all be type-m!
also i've been using these oil capacitys with no problem!?
engine: 4L
gearbox: 2L
diff: 1L
cant remember where i got these from but they all sit on full with these amounts in them!

Xtreme cushion button.Never looked back.
i'll second that!
easy to drive as well ideal for street use with the occassional spirited spurt.
they are pretty cheap as well..$500 for the whole clutch kit
cheers
good to hear!
just ordered one today for my 32 with the chrome moly flywheel as well

do you have any picks of the low-mount type for an rb20 with T3 flange (so basically setup with turbo in same position as stock etc.)
cheers,
Warren
would be very interested in seeing a pic of the low mount rb20 with t3 as well... runnning a trust td-05 kit though

are most of you guys talking about genuine hks 2530's or just any old garrett 2530??
i believe the difference is extremely noticable as far as response goes!
-
i just got quoted $50 for the seal kit (the book said thats for an axle set)...
but the guy said i'd be up for about $340 to have to front calipers overhauled by them!!!
he said 1.5hrs labour PER CALIPER!!!
i dont think i'll be goin back there
-
try a blitz dsbc!
they handle up to 2.5 bar!
-
yeah he's right...
u should be able to get instructions for blitz, apexi, and greddy turbo timers as well as most of the blitz gadgets and power fc's, profec and lots of other gear...
u might find that if u didnt buy the item from them then they will try to sell u the instructions though....
-
i prefer to use the Motul range of oils...
they just released their LSD oil in 1L containers!! (instead of 10L drums)
Also can anybody confirm this:
gearbox in rb20 takes 2L, diff takes 1L??
engine - 300V Chrono (10w40 100% synthetic ester)
gearbox - Gear 300 (75w90 100% synthetic)
diff - Gear FF Competition
brakes - RBF600 (DOT4/600, 312 degree boiling point!)

i was trying to find one as well dude...
Nissan quoted me $25 for the genuine part and i said can u get me one then and they're like 'nah japan only'!...
i just gave them the japanese VIN no from my engine bay and they can bring up any part of the car u want...
i'd be trying to get one from nissan for a 300zx coz they're the same as far as i know and at least they're australian delivered!
