Looks like a clean unit and I like the number plate !

What $ are they asking in the US, if you don't mind me asking ?

23k usd. This one is a very well rust free car. Far better than some horror stories I'm seeing. Yes appears to be a real nismo bar!

  2. Well this popped up for sale about 6 hours from me for a very fair price. I like that it's still pretty stock. It does have downpipe, full exhaust, and coilovers...but check out that stock airbox! (forgive me I've never seen one in person on the 10 or so R32's I have seen). I will keep this one stock and build the other chassis into a pretty healthy racecar.

  3. Well...Lots of other projects out of the way. New house, new move, same hurt back (but I manage). Finished most of my other racecar projects (couple of E36 M3's with LS swaps and a MR2 Spyder with a 2zz 6 speed swap), but I'm getting back at it gents. Get ready...should be really really fun this time. The crank was FINE on the RB28 and I'm going to be putting all this back together soon enough!!! STAY TUNED!

  4. 8374 or 8474 IWG 2.75L 79mm stroker stock bore RB26? Still on small cams (Poncam A), but same motor made 740 whp 615 wtq on 30 psi peak dropping to 24/5 psi on top to keep ID 1350x from going over 100% DC. I'm getting back in the game and have a 6 boost IWG manifold, 8374 EFR .92 that has a chipped turbine (but still boosted just fine when pulled).

Could go to REAL cams this time since motor is out and I have the oil pump off now...

  5. Yeah sorry, didn't really make it clear I'm not running E85- fuel system upgrade is another phase for the future.
My N1s would be similar to 7s I guess, so I could live with similar performance. From the EFR threads I read several positive comments re pre-spool transient response
I'm telling you...the 8374 will CRUSH your N1s on boost threshold, response, overall power, midrange torque etc...yes on even a stock 2.6

I have a car with new -7, fresh motor, camgears, haltech. Then I just installed a .92 8374 efr on a stock 2.6 car. No kidding the efr absolutely destroyed them both as a better operating engine. I think it's pointless to go with anything smaller to be honest because you really don't spool any faster...only reduce topend.

  6. Hi SAU, happy NY to you all.
I'm looking into a power upgrade for my 32gtr, educating myself on options. I've done a fair bit of reading on SAU and elsewhere, and now I'm hoping to get some advice about turbo selection from experienced folk here.
    Currently running:
Mild 2.6L with forged pistons and rods, fresh mild ported head, oem cams, adj. cam gears, JUN oil pump, extended sump, oem cold side, N1 turbos. With supporting mods this is good for a modest 281kw at the wheels on 98.
    Goal:
380-400kw at the wheels, with a nice wide torque band and response that is no worse than current, and preferably better. This is a regularly driven street car that will see the odd squirt here and there, cheeky track days etc.
    Some considerations:
I think I'd rather go EWG and get the manifold + wg + bov stuff done, in preparation for an engine refresh inc stroker upgrade in future.

Some of the thoughts/suggestions so far:
EFR7670 ewg 1.05 - highly responsive but limited to around 350-360kw on 2.6Ls?
EFR8374 ewg 1.05 - good power but better suited to 2.8L?
    GTX3576R GEN II

    Thanks in advance!
Go with the 8374. You will NOT be disappointed
  7. Alright fellas i'm back...

Pulled the drivetrain from the wrecked GTR...in the midst of being injured and bummed sold the 8374 .92 EFR and 6 boost manifold off of it.

Found another R32 GTR roller that i'm picking up this coming Sunday (yes exactly 1 year ago to the day of me totalling my car by setting the GTR jump distance record).

Anyway...what's changed? I'm going all out this time. Bigger cams (was on tomei poncam A) and lighter weight (gutted, caged) car this time. Motor is still BC stroker N1 block stock bores. 2.75 L...everything ther to rev 8,400...everything there to rev to 9k if I dry sump it this time. Last time I maxxed the ID 1350X injectors doing 740 whp on E85...what will the 9180 get me?

What turbo setup would you pick and why?

    Patrick

  8. Have a mate with the same turbo at 28 psi e85) and only 380kw
the internal gate bw r junk for bulk power  In Australia
Americans make them sing ( thus the bald eagle comment which after discovering Cletus on YouTube I thought was a compliment)
Whoa... there is definitely something wrong with that motor if that's all they got out of an 8374 EFR .92 iwg turbo on a stock RB26! I mean how can the iwg be to blame when it's simply a turbine housing that's still in the range of what most choose on the RB if you still stay external? (Referring to the 1.05).

I thought you were mocking me with the bald eagles comment... no sweat there I have a sense of humor (hell yeah brother).

I'll get some videos of the cars this week for y'all

  9. RWHP or AWHP?
465 HP seems a little high for a fairly standard 26 on -7's at 20 psi of boost.
    Good result none the less!

    RWHP.

The car did 384 whp before the stock AFMs cut me off around 17-18 psi...and at 10 psi did about 296 whp. Haltech, cam gears (rolled in about 6 deg of overlap) and intake pipes woke it up. This dyno is pretty dang accurate. Motor runs very well.

Also I just tuned another R32 GTR on stock RB26 on tomei cam gears, 8374 EFR .92 IWG, 6 boost manifold, on pumpgas 93 octane (your 98) and it did 570 whp on 20 psi. Did 636 whp on 23 psi on E30 and ran out of injector. Also on haltech platinum.

Both cars are strong...the -7 car definitely more laggy than the EFR single car though.download_20180806_220847.jpeg

  10. Fresh Dyno

    1991 GTR
    Stock RB26DETT
    Garrett GT2860R-7 turbos
    Stock R32 dumps, manifolds, etc.
    Greddy downpipe
    HKS Super Drager Exhaust
Custom hardpipe intakes (AFMs deleted and all inlet rubber changed to 2.5" Al piping)
Tapped a -6AN fitting into stock fuel rail
    FIC 850cc injectors
    93 Octane Pumpgas (USA)
    BCPR7EIX plugs gapped to .025"
Haltech PnP Rev2 (love this! much better than rev1).

20.5 psig + 3 deg of timing over haltech base.

    465 whp

Full boost at 5k on stock turbos? That's a bit lethargic

I agree with you more for sure now. Below is the comparison on SAME dyno (only days apart) to my 1991 GTR.

Here is my stock RB26 GT2860-7 car. It has Greddy downpipe, HKS super Drager exhaust, Tomei cam gears rolled in about 6 deg, and now has hard inlet pipes that I built last week and a Haltech Platinum pnp (the rev2 is nice!!). I modified fuel rail for -6 inlet on rear and upgraded fuel pump with FIC 850cc drop-ins.

On stock AFM's and just raising boost to 18psi it was 384 whp before cutting due to AFM overrun. It did ~ 300 whp at 9-10 psi boost.

New dyno on Haltech at 20.5 psi and 3 deg added to base haltech timing = 456 whp. I want you guys to note that while it "hangs" with the 8374 EFR IWG .92 on boost threshold on a non-load bearing dyno, when driving the two cars the single completely stomps the twins on response. You can spool sooner, run less boost, and make more power. The 8374 car on 14 psi makes the same power as the -7 car does on 19-20 psi...It is a no-brainer for anyone that thinks that -7 are acceptable boost threshold and lag turbos then the 8374 will beat the pants off of them everywhere.

  12. Car arrives at shop with stock RB26 on stock turbos. Has installed a PNP Haltech and a rough, rich tune. 14 psi on top end...laggy for sure. I knew we were swapping them so I didn't try hard here.

    3 weeks later:
    Billet oil pump gears
Tomei Cam Gears (rolled in pretty well)
My old EFR 8374 .92 and 6 boost divided IWGmanifold
    3" exhaust
Still on 93 octane and still on Haltech basemap timing (still tuning just ran out of time last night)
15-16 psi boost (same as his car when arrived).

This is a FANTASTIC turbo for an RB26!

I can confirm the 7670 is great on a 2.8, so it'll be OK on a 2.6 and most likely pretty bad on a 2.0.

7163 is best for the 2L, but some SR20 people don't believe life exists until 5k and sideways in which case the 7670 will be ideal. There are actually a few reports on the 7670 on the 2L, I want to say a few were tuned by JEM up on their facebook page over the last year or so.

It is similar in size to a GTX3576, which is most would consider to be a pretty big ask for a 2L with a 7k rev limit and RWD.

Can you link me to or PM me some results of this? I have tons of experience with the 8374 on 2.8L, but 7670 has me interested for sure. For a pumpgas car 2.6 it would probably be an awesome fit.

There is actually some info on twins, a member has been running twin EFR6258s on a "good" RB28DETT setup in a track car for years and also tried the EFR7163s briefly.

Here is the dyno results with the EFR6258s:

    post-53650-0-66074300-1368871736.jpg

And his comments on the EFR7163s:

This doesn't look all that impressive to be honest - especially given the $$$ for those twins. I'd have to drive the car to know for sure, but The 8374 looks like a better pick on this still. I can tell you mine on a 2.75L is just straight nasty for a streetcar. I'm about to tune a stock RB26 with my old 8374 EFR .92 on it (next couple of weeks). So I'll FINALLY have a few different cars on the same dyno for you guys for comparisons so we can end the "American HP" debate at least for a little while.

FYI. I kept my engine after I crashed my car and bought another R32 GTR. It's got a nice fresh stock engine in it with -7's currently that did 406 whp before it maxxed the stock MAF's. I am contemplating trying out this 7670 1.05 we have sitting in the shop that a customer returned still brand new (and went with 8374). Thoughts on this on a completely stock RB26 with exhaust (may add intake cam gear)?
