  1. Hi guys, i have a rb25det neo in a r32.

    Mods are:

    3 inch straight exhaust

    Tial gate 7.5psi spring

    FMIC

    WALBRO pump

    Chinese t3/t4 turbo

    For some reason, if you slowly ease the throttle on it goes pretty good, Makes good power. But if you just plant your foot, the wastegate screams but but its slower.

    On the boost gauge it goes up to 10psi

    I have done a compression check and its algood, I have checked the wastegate diaphram and its algood also.

    The car doesn't miss at all. I'm thinking it could be a air leak because it will stall sometimes after you come to a stop.

    Any ideas guys?

    Also because its just the factory ecu with a Larger turbo i'd imagine it would be a problem but my friend has the exact same setup with the factory ecu and it goes really well.

  2. Hi guys, when i first bought my car only the drivers side window would work. One day i smacked the window switch in hopes it would fix it. After i smacked it, the passenger side started working. But then the drivers side stopped working. I have checked and tried two regulators and when i try put the drivers window down, i can hear the regulator click. Any ideas??

Im replacing my turbo now but the nuts that hold it to the manifold are very weak and are starting to round, i can't fit a socket or a spanner completely around them because the nuts are placed so close to the inlet and there is not quite enough room to fit around them. I don't want to use a crescent spanner as im sure that will just round it

  4. So two days back i started my car first thing in the morning to warm up. I went inside and came back out after 5 minutes and noticed smoke lingering from my exhaust, it looks blue so im assuming its oil. I gave it a little revs and it stopped smoking, i drove to work, no smoke. On acceleration there is no smoke, it only happens first start of the day. There is no oil in my catch can nor is there any really in my intercooler piping. I am going to check the turbine housing for oil tonight. Does this sound like rings, valves or turbo? thanks guys

  5. Hi guys, i have a r32 which originally had a rb20de in it. It now has a rb25det NEO. The problem i have is it came with a 320 speedo dash cluster and only the rev and gas gauge work, so it has to go. What dash cluster do i use?

  6. Ive got a different type of clamp on every connection in my ic piping. 19psi and nothing has ever popped off.

    Ling long turbos. I love it.

    Stall on stop could be a leak, reversion or atmo vent.

    Man you're driving a Frankenstein. Honestly if i was you id sell it and buy another car. A gts shell with an rb25det will get you into all hell with the law. Brakes, suspension, registration info will all be out of whack with this motor in that shell.

    Haha yea it is a frankenstein but its running alot better now, its all certed for the engine swap, has 4 pot front brakes and 2 pot rears and adjustable suspension. And i just got it a fresh warrant of fitness no problem haha

So it turns out because the shell is just a GTS, it still had the Rb20de fuel pump, i have got an aftermarket walbro fuel pump and i put it in and it's running alot better, i am going to try find a rb25det neo turbo and put it back to stock until i can afford a better ecu and tune. For some reason since earlier today when i come up to stop at lights etc, the car dies? could this be a air leak?

    The engine is not from a 4WD stagea. Traction control rules that out. The ECU, if the lid matches the contents, is definitely from the early S1 Stagea. That should not plug into a Neo ECU loom plug.

    You definitely have some sort of bitsa going on there.

    Yea i'm really confused, what is the engine from do you know? i'm taking it a expert tomorrow

  9. I see, that's not so hard then.

    As a temporary measure I'd cut the hose at the burned part and sleeve it with a piece of steel tube/hose clamps until you can buy a suitable replacement.

    The hose has to take heat and boost so tape won't cut it.

    Ahh good idea, yea i'll do that tomorrow, i also realized my bov isn't going off, it just compresser surges. as i said earlier it makes 8 psi boost but doesn't pull like it is. When i had the gate hooked up wrong and it was over boosting the bov was going off.

  10. So you're saying the hose end is open to atmosphere?

    Under idle conditions, the throttle plate is effectively closed and the engine draws air via that black hose.

    The AAC valve and the air reg are part of that system, which ends by connection to the plenum.

    This means with an open hose, when idling the engine is eating unfiltered air and when under boost conditions, boost is escaping.

    It's not too difficult to connect that hose to the "J" pipe as originally intended.

    Yea it's still connected to the correct place it just had a hole melted into it. i taped it for the mean while

  11. That's the wrong ecu. It doesn't matter if its manual or auto but the OV300 is for a series 1 Stagea that has the R33 engine. You need an ecu for a series 2 Stagea which had the Neo engine (or an R34 GTT ecu).

    Yup says ov300, that would explain why its running so crap, doesn't like to boost. If i was to get a the neo ecu, would it be hard to swap over?

  12. I have a r32 with a stagea rb25det neo.

    It isn't running right and im thinking maybe the ecu has something to do with it.

    The r32 is manual converted.

    The current ecu is 23740 0V300

    I'm sure this is the 4wd auto stagea ecu.

    if my car is rwd and manual, would the ecu possibly need to be changed to a different ecu?
