  1. right where to start.lol.

we have had alot of issues in the uk with the rb30,s on track whether it be an rb25 head or 26. on the road mine blows nothing, on spirited driving it blows nothing, zero, on track it throws it into the catch can. i run a tomei oil pump. back restrictor is blocked of fully, front one runs a .65 restrictor, yes you read that correctly. i run mines cam baffles and silkolene 15/50 pro oil. my cam cover pipes go to a catch can, from there the vent pipe goes down to another catch can near the sump. from that catch can the other pipe comes back up and vents to atmo behind the drivers headlight. the main catch can behind the drivers headlight also has a drain to sump on it..this has sorted all the track blowing oil out issues. i have done leak down, compression tests the lot. if you run an rb26/30 on track hard with over 1.6 bar boost or 650bhp it will blow oil out end of, what you have to do is control it and return it back to sump..its seems the 26 is suited for track and the 30 just isnt, we have a dozen or more here with the same problem including the original ripps uk001 engine. to4z powered. at castle comble the other year it blew a gallon of oil into the tank after 20 laps...?.this one was built by rob himself is very famous. was fitted to a white 33gtr that ran 10,s in nz. bernie uk

p.s if i build another i would put a .25 restrictor in the front and block the rear.i have just done a comprssion test on mine with the cam covers of,even without it running just turning over the cams are soaked with oil thats pumped up..

  2. So far my RB26/30 with 272 deg/10.5mm jun cams and hks 2530's are promising and may fit your bill, time and a final tune (currently on run-in) will tell.

oh yes please, i have hks step 2 cams 270/280 10.2mm lift, ported head.. r u using std manifolds or tomei etc.. graphs and thougts would be mostwelcome mate.. also are they genuine hks 25/30,s or equivelent..just to get it right..

  3. Car sound`s great,

Shame they changed the OLD SILVERSTONE it was one of fastest track`s about ,i was a very fast place & mad on a bike.

Shaun is this the new RB30/26 setup.

hi mate, its the old engine rebuilt, still got the gt4094r on, i want to go twins over christmas to increase response on it.. done 4000 miles on the motor now since rebuild in may..lol

looks like a 34 gtr about 45 seconds into the clip, driving past everything else like they've got the handbrake on

that blair was a r35 track monster running 600 bhp /630lbs torque, we tried to follow but had no chance.lol we spoke to the company that owned it they were giving passenger rides round the track, full stripped and caged, he comemted on our driving saying it was not to shabby..lol

  4. felix, just build it mate, lol

mine is a std block not painted, spool rods, cp,s,cometic h/g arp,s acl race bearings, done 3000miles on the motor since it sucked something in and did no5 big end, of that 3000 miles over 1000 miles are on track, i ran it in for 40 miles on mineral oil then it did 8 hours on the dyno and then i took it to zolder/spa and the ring all in one weekend.. mine makes 640bhp/556lbs @ all 4 on 1.5 bar..go for it..

  5. managed to find this.the hks 2835 uses a 48t but cant work out the housing sizes, i think they are in inches?.

  6. The 2871 with a 52 trim compressor is AKA the HKS GTRS. Going the 48T version IMO would be a miss match (as otherwise would have been used by HKS themselves) and is likely to be less responsive than the -5s.

I do however see a theory forming... Essentially the exhaust side on the 2871 to the 2860 is the same... Perhaps this could help resolve the surge issue.

I am a firm believer in pursuing what works though, this could be an odd mismatch.. There is someone on this site that could provide a better opinion though. :)

true mate. the os giken 3.0 ltr here with 2860-5 is an animal, but from 5800 onwards on light throttle shuffle is horrendous, it wont evn map out. under load alls well, but the guy lives in cumbria where there are lots of twisty country roads, he is a rally driver by day and wanted power and immediate responce, he is happy with the set up bar the shuffle, you have to come completely of throttle and then back on hard to remove it.. the 48t version may help this. not sure but io think hks 25/30,s ran a 48 t..will check lol

  7. just come across an intersting turbo i may try. its a 2871r.. but it has a 48 trim so smaller than a -10 but bigger than 2860-5 rated at 400bhp each. i have spoken to a guy in the uk who has an os giken 3.0 with -5,s,spool is instant but he has massive surge problems that he cant get rid off. he runs them at 1.65 bar.. maybe the 48 t will help this. i have only found apt that do this turbo in the gtr fitment internal wastegate.. will dig deeper.

thats a 56t but i am sure they can there hand on a 48 t

this is the baby but with the wrong housings

  8. cheers guys, to answer some questions, here in the uk gts4 diff are very rare. also when i fitted the gt35 r with a 1.06 rear and t3 that was about 3 years ago it wasn,t as responsive as i would like. the gt4094r spools as fast as my old gt35r did back then. so at the time it was a no brainer. i like the idea of fast reponding twins, maybe go 2860-5 and alter the cam timing, as for mapping marko i do that on the road with a friend of mine.....lol

  9. Rockabilly what cams do you have?

    hi mate,

cams are hks step 2 270/in and 280/ex 10.2mm lift

motors all forged, cp,s spool rods etc.will support 1000bhp..lol

will be running shell v-poer pump fuel 98 ron uk

as for tracks, not one track in perticular. i have drive this year,

castle combe, silverstone, spa franchorchamps, the ring, zolder.. many different curcuits but usually the same issue, my friend runs a gtr with a rb26 on 2859r,s these are superb but not really available any more. he made 490 at the hubs on boost 3k..bernie

  10. The oil pump was a brand new n1 unit so i hope that didnt fail.

there,s your problem. mine did the same. an n1 cant flow enough oil at 9k , it may have pressure but the flow drops and the bearing touches the carnk, game over. i went tomei.. the n1 will be ok, it just is not man enough at those revs ..sorry

  11. hi guys, alot of you know my motor from my threads. i have been doing alot of track work recently and although its a complete monster i want to lower my boost threshold. currently the car makes 1.5 bar by 4500rpm and that 660 bhp @ all 4 on a hub dyno. i know i will have to drop to maybe 500 @ the hubs but gain responce. has any members fitted 2860-5 or similar twins and run them at 1.7 bar.... if yes what are they like coming out of a tight corner in say 2nd gear at 2500rpm..bernie

p.s i need to chase some evo,s lol.
