  1. i tell you what man..

if you don't trust e-bay..you can always find someone you know on the other side of the pond to pick one up for you..then send it down under to you.

i think that's probably the easiest way going about getting one for your nephew.

oh yah, my friend has a gameshark. trust me, it works wonders..LOL

  2. Haha...I've only had the game for the past 2 weeks and I can't stop

Always walked passed it at shops and until I couldn't help myself and bought  it......

What stages are u guys up to...took me ages to get a R34 and all u guys have already got it..i've got the JAP version..so I dunno if its different but I've played like 200 odd races and I still have plenty to go...I think there's like 500 odd races..cause once you finish the 3 stages first...you get 100000CP...which is like nothing, since everything is sooo ***in expensive and then new teams come up....to top it off there are always other teams which enter the stage for no reason hence adding up to the greater total of races....

In a NUTSHELL, its a very very long game

YOu will never catch up with the 'wanderers" once they blast past you unless they crash or hit the yellow vans, supras are really fast when modded...up to know I still can't beat the stupid RIDOX supra and I can't find it anymore....and yes I agree with the handling handling, its pretty ordinary

    i finished the game.

i didn't beat all the wanderers, but i did beat the vast majority of them. some of them, i didn't even see on the highway.

it's a very long game, after you play the 1st round, you get like 1,000,000 CP to spend...then you go back to the 3 stages and unlock the entire highway, and with it, the remaining rivals and more wanderers.

when you finally beat the entire game (all the final bosses in all the cities) you'll get 10million CP to spend. but i'm sure by the time you reach that point, you would've gotten very bored of the game..i know i did.

  3. Hmmm Autobarm ill find one near. And where do you get the cards that have your game info on it. Ive only played it like 3 times.

it will ask you if you want to purchase a card when you start a new game (has to be single player mode though) and you'll be prompted to insert more money into the machine before you get the card.

you play and the card will print when you end your game.

i wonder if the cards have worldwide compatability....that'd be cool if they did. i highly doubt it though.

  4. I thought it was pretty crap..........the only thing special about it is the RPG element, and you get to race jap cars.............the actual game play wasnt groundbreaking and the shift up down gear box is taking the piss...............

you didn't play it enough to have a good amount of fun.

it doesn't get good until later in the game when you begin to understand how the game plays...and you can drive on the complicated stages.

I haven't seen Initial D before but do you have to watch it form the start to understand it? Because Im trying to find the older episodes to buy to see if I like it. Where can I find Initial D dvds? I don't often play the Initial D game at the arcades but I like versing friends once in a while.

yah, you have to watch it from episode 1 to understand it completely.

any Chinatown or Asian Market/Mall should have Initial D stuff for sale. at least i would think so, because it's a huge franchise in Japan and HK.

i don't like battling friends in the arcade game (well, at least only 2 of my friends) cause i always get PWNED by them...they're too damn experienced and good at it.

  5. It isnt out in Australia...Its the American version ( NSTC-U ) which I got brought into the country.... I dont ever think it will be released as an Australian version unfortunately.....

I have basically completed it... except a few wanderers I havent gottne around to doing..... Yeah some of those supras later in the game are damn fast..... If they get past you, you lose :)

oh, that sucks that you guys didn't get a local version.

and yah, the 3 supra's in Nagoya are damn fast..u know, the Knight, Bishop and Rook. pure battles, trying to beat them man..i know i had a hard time winning. even in my 700hp FD...with the scramble boost turned on =P

i found the ultimate car in this game tho. it's the SW20 MR-2 with the naturally aspirated V6 engine swap. i hadn't finished the upgrades package with this car(lightening the chassis, reinforcements, etc.) but i managed to get it up to a 217mph top speed. i would imagine after getting all the mods for it, i'd be able to hit 230mph or maybe even 240mph in it. the car is a monster, it cannot be stopped at the beginning of a race...it just like, winds up and goes, leaving your rival in the dust. no joke, u should try it.

  6. Does anyone know how or where to get the soundtrack of this game at? You cant tell me the music doesnt kick ass. Ive been trying to find it somewhere for download if anyone has any information would be great. Ive already tried their main site and it seems they only give out small clips of the music every tuesday or so. so help me out people

no, but if you find it...please relay the download link to us on SAU forums as well..

    LOL

i like this soundtrack, it's a good contrast from the dancey songs from Initial D. Wangan features a lot of Rock music.

  7. Tokyo Extreme Racing Zero was a great game.... played it for hours and hours... cant go past the speed kings car though ;)

The newer version is Tokyo Extreme Racing 3..... I have just finished playing that... Took me a few weeks to complete putting in several hours a day.... If you liked Tokyo Extreme Racnig Zero you should defianately get Tokyo Extreme Racing 3.... Its more of the same but better graphics and a few extra bits and pieces... :)

how long has that game been out in AUS? it's been out here for nearly a year now..i bought a copy last holiday season and it was the best 30dollar game i ever bought new =D

have fun playing it man, it gets frustratingly hard later on in the game.

wait until you meet up with Manabu Orido in his MKIV Supra in Osaka.

  8. The black smoke has gone but can still see vapour coming out the exhaust which I believe to be excess fuel so I would say you are right and its running very very rich.

Is it safe to drive it in this condition???

    Thanks heaps for your help.

    what colour is the vapour?

but first things first...how do you "see" the "vapour" ? if you could see it, wouldn't it be considered "smoke" ?

  9. speeding moderately is understandable..

    only if it's like 10kph over the limit tho...but 120kph in a 50kph zone? that's nuts...

that's like going highway speeds in a residential zone.

i see that down under, there are a lot of bad apples that ruin it for all the mature enthusiasts. i suffer from this too...and it sucks.

  10. a 2.2 prelude, with 147fwkw?

this is the H22A (or something) engine right?

    you sure that's not HP?

Please list the mods that pushed this engine to 147fwkw....

I'm very curious now as I have "SOME" understanding and knowledge with Honda engines and not seen many streetable NA honda's with that sort of power.

also, what is the factory quoted power at the engine on that prelude in standard form?

no way that he pushed that much out of a naturally aspirated H22A without doing internal modifications.

to answer your question though, the prelude made about 190hp(141kw) measured at the flywheel in the 4th generation. in the 5th generation, it received a output boost up to 200hp(149kw) and also gained a bit of weight as well. which caused it to actually be slower than the 4th gen.

The Honda VTEC thing is completely overrated...you'd be surprised at how slow a naturally aspirated Prelude is and how quickly it runs out of steam. well, driving it, you would think it's fast...but racing against another car might broaden your horizons.

i'm not saying that the guy who stated he had a prelude had achieved 147fwkw output is lying...i'm just stating that to achieve that, one would have to do internal work on the H22A.

i know my honda's simply because they're the #1 candidates to be turned into rice mobiles here in north america. not a day passes when i do not see at least 10 or 20modified civics on the streets. and 80% of them don't even have more than 130hp measured at the flywheel..but they sure do make a lot of noise with the fart canisters...LMAO

  11. me?

well, an obvious would be a Skyline..LOL

but other notable cars would be:

Datsun 240Z (ghosts from the past, that have been claimed by the sands of time)

Lotus Esprit S4S (yah, the I-4 turbo one)

Lambourghini Diablo or Gallardo (saw my first Gallardo last month)

Ferarri 360 Modena (the red one i saw last year on the street........left me speechless)

NSX (only sometimes though, because i actually see them quite often)

FD RX-7 (actually more rare than the NSX here)

MKIV Supra TT (yah, rare but common now; and riced out after the first F+F movie)

S2000 (i like the car, but see it a bit too much)

SE3P RX-8 (makes me think, "hey, want to race? i wanna show you something." LOL)

  12. Its like some sort of creaks sound where come from the front dash. And the rear windscreen unit around shaking noise. Is that possible to fix?????

creaks from the dash? perhaps it has been taken apart by a previous owner of the car and not put back in properly? maybe one of the important clips have been broken? but more importantly, when do you hear this noise while driving? like when you drive over a bump or something?

i used to get that a creaking noise in my FC too...from the passenger side. i thought it might've been my suspension, then i thought it was the glove box, then i imagined that it could've been something inside the glovebox..

but after everything, it turned out to be nothing more than the screw that held the mounting bracket for my BOV and bleeder valve in the engine bay that had become loose thru vibrations from just driving.

i guess the only advice i can give you, is to make sure you know what it is before you make any assumptions that might cost you a bit of money.

  13. it's like Kinks said..

might cause deterioration over the years...but then again, just normal driving will cause normal wear-and-tear right?

i like my HKS one, it's effective enough, and in the event that i need to replace it, i will...it's nothing but a quick+easy filter replacement.

  14. Does anyone play this at timezone and other arcade game places? I just got into it cos my like initial d. They say there are also movies does anyone know where to download them?

i dont play it anywhere you do...

but yes, i play it at my local aracde here. i'm not that good at it, even though i've spent a fair sum of money on it..

looking for movie downloads of the anime?

i'm not sure about finding any place to download the older episodes, but i know the latest ones can be DL'ed using MIRC or Bit Torrent.

  15. G'day mate, welcome aboard.

Which part of Canadia, I mean Canada, do you reside? Can you send me some Granville Island beer for me?

    hahaha...i won't send any granville, but i can send a labatt..LMAO

oh, to answer your question..i live in a smaller city called Kitchener-Waterloo (it's actually 2 cities joined together) with a population of about 300,000.

it's about a 100km (technically 99km) drive southwest of Toronto.

J-spec's organised a few R32 GTR's to Canada, from memory one of em went to Vancouver and another to Toronto.

yes, i've heard about those 2 GTR's that made it to Canada. one of them is supposedly in Waterloo...hahahaha.

they were trying to sell it before it had actually arrived. they were asking about 30k CAD. i dont think i'd want to own a RHD vehicle here though, cops would hassle me too much.

can you say ABOUT for me?

have you been attacked by a bear?

Do moose drive convertibles because of the antlers?

ABOUT ? just so you know, i don't say "A-BOOT" LOL

no, i've never been attacked by a bear..never even seen one before.

and as for the moose thing...LMAO, i dont know if they drive convertibles, but to tell you honestly, i never saw a moose until i was like 20 years old.

Nostalgic-Wanderer is the typical Altima/Bluebird owner in Canada likely to be a "friend of Dorothy" like they are here?

i have no clue wtf that means...HAHAHAHA.

    oh yah btw guys..

    for comparison purposes..

how does an R32 GTR stack up against an Series VI FD3S RX-7 ? i would like a comparison from someone who's driven both cars..because i've driven an FD before and fell in love with the car. too bad i can't afford one, so i drive an FC instead =P

  16. hey everyone.

just decided to stop by the NSW forum to say hello and introduce myself.

i'm just a fellow car enthusiast looking to communicate with some Aussies in regard to automobiles. more specifically, the ones made by Japanese manufacturers.

i'm basically here to seek out answers in regard to the so-called "Gojira" that i've never seen in my life.

    is it really that ULTIMATE?

    is it really that GOOD?

    is it really that BAD-ASS?

or does it just seem this way to me because it's not available in the market here?

i had an interesting debate with some of my friends the other night over a coffee. we were debating about the validity of this so-called "mythical car" that is only readily available overseas.

i already know that reading specifications of a car on paper cannot equal what it's like to actually drive it. so how about some of you give me a few comparisons to other high-end Japanese cars? like, does it really WHOOP the competition? or is it just as good as the competition?

  17. AWD is available in the US and kicks most nissan and other   butt.

Hey, I own a Starion as well. :D

    contray to popular belief overseas..

the DSM cars are not all what they would appear to be.

sure, they have 4WD and a turbo inline 4 based off the 4G63.

and unless you get a turbo upgrade (which can cost thousands here) your DSM is not going anywhere. true, lots of boost on the stock turbine is good too, but it can only take the car so far. the size of the turbo is what i'd call tiny (with the housing, it's only about as big as a CD). on a side note, the 2nd gen DSM uses a T25 turbine.

the engines also have their fair share of problems, mainly crankwalk (which occurs in 2nd generation DSMs). crankwalk is when the crankshaft moves out of place naturally, perhaps due to an engineering miscalculation ? this basically renders the engine as junk.

i don't have much faith in these cars, they're ugly, they've been riced out, and they're heavy as $#*$ too. it'll pull on me in a 1/4mile, but from a rolling start; it doesn't stand a chance. my friend's EG civic with a b16a(cable clutch version too)with bolt-ons can outrun an equivalently modified Eclipse GSX (turbo 4wd model) from a rolling start.

(on a side note, i think i would've rather had chosen the FTO GPX over the Eagle Talon/Mistubishi Eclipse...but then again, on paper, it looks very much like a Honda Prelude with a 2000cc V6 as opposed the Prelude's 2200cc inline 4.....and good god, don't even talk about Preludes)

    and on a side note:

i haven't driven, let alone even seen a Skyline or FTO in my life..but, i already know the easiest answer to the thread starter..you got burned, simply because the FTO had an advantage over you:

-less weight (still less than you and your sister...even when he has a full car load)

-doesn't the FTO rev higher...i remember seeing somewhere online that it peaks right before 8000rpm

-it was probably heavily modified, i've seen/met up with plenty of cars like that in Canada....you think they're slow, then they show their true potential (stock looking MKIII Supra turbo making 630rwhp) and it leaves you scratching your head...or at least feeling like an idiot for even trying to race.

  18. anyways...has anyone played it? i need sum tips on how to play better in this game...

i cant tune the r34 anymore, its maxed out

i've played it..a few games worth on my last visit to Toronto.

    it's very fun to play.

my advice for you to get better in this game, is to go out and buy a copy of Tokyo Xtreme Racer 3 (or is it still known Tokyo Highway Battle in AUS ?). that game will allow you to learn the Tokyo Highway system so when you play Wangan Midnight, you'll already know the highway.

when i played it, i had a blast roaming the highway with my black FC. i found it to be a little too easy though (although it's likely that way because i played TXR3 for far too long). even bought a card.

i sitll think Initial D is more fun to play though.
