Hi everyone, I'm new, in terms of being active, on the forum. Formerly 'ruskter' (when I was on my L's with a manual r33) I recently aqcuired my full licence and I'm now the proud owner of an R34 GTT ☺ I'm in Sydney and always keen to go for a drive and whatnot ? However my engine needs either a headgasket if im lucky, a full rebuild if im not. Alternatively a replacement engine may be an option. These are the issues: headgasket (oil in the radiator and blows smoke) Has noisy lifter or something near the front exhaust side of the engine. Was certain it was missing power so I did a compression test myself last week and found out it has low compression cyl 1 and 2 (around 55-70 compared to 150ish on cylinders 3 to 6) Idle at 1250rpm Ive gotten a quote from a decent mechanic across the road from my house and they said 1500 for the head gasket which seems cheap but not sure if it would need more repairs (and im broke as) Any advice would be much appreciated!!

Also i wasnt trying to alter the price but rather justify my 'tightass' offer.. Im new to the forum and don't want a bad rep lol

Fair enough. You mentioned before $2600 with reasonable offers considered. I undertsand it is firm at 2.4k Any idea how much it would cost to ship though?

How much would shipping be? No harm in throwing an offer is there? Im borrowing cash to either rebuild or get a new engine so i can keep the car I just got my full licence 2 months ago and bought my car a month ago. Working only casual due to back issues, getting a divorce and starting uni this year, give me a break man
