  1. It's flat out hard at the moment, especially if your mature age (25) like me, I have 5 subjects at TAFE to complete then about 12 months on the tools but because i have another trade already behind me plus a mortgage such its hard to go back to sub $20 an hour. I could go back to my last trade (aircraft maintenance engineering) however with the airlines bleeding dry a bit at the moments it's even hard to get back into that. During the boom i had work everywhere, at the moment i'm flat out during commercial security and CCTV but i really want to get my sparky ticket...hopefully the construction industry goes mental again soon. Best of luck.
  2. Can you give me a call and I'll come pick up the turbo Timer if you still have it. 0439718865 Cheers
  3. regarding my mates car, its like its not boosting at all. It feels terribly slow. My EL XR6 would whip it i suppose all he can do really is get a new cat and take it to someone who knows what to look for. This car has definately been messed with, there is evidence of an old boost controller being installed (no longer there) and we basically have no idea where to start.
  4. futher research has me led to beleive the warning light is just that, its not sending anything to the ECU. So best bet would be have the cat replaced, then go from there. Would having the cat blocked make it feel so slow, or could there be other issues?
  5. definately no aftermarket ECU, although it did come with an aftermarket AFM harness which didnt work with the factory one so that has been replaced. I'd say this car has been messed with
  6. G'day Mate of mine took me for a strap in his R32 GTS-T tonight and it has some serious issues. I am not an expert on the Nissan engines but when this thing hit 4 grand it felt terrible. It has a pod filter, exhaust and blow off valve, the turbo was boosting somewhat (as it would vent via the blow off valve) but the car went nowhere. It also keeps displaying a warning light on the dash, we are pretty sure it might be an exhaust gas temp warning light? looks to be roughly 2nd warning light in from the right. light will also randomly show at idle, always flashes under load. is the sensor stuffed causing ECU to pull fuel/retard timing under boost, or does it sound like the turbo is stuffed? History of car is unknown, its a recent import many thanks
  7. Yvonne I'll swap you my Fairmont and my XY plus 5 bucks
  8. not too worried about size, am used to driving big cars Friend of mine had a R32 gtst and i wasnt impressed with the RB20 at all (it was stock though)
  9. Virgin poster...beware have decided early next year im going to step out of my EL Ford Fairmont (was going to turbocharge it) and buy something Japanese. Im basically dead set on either a R33 GTSt or R32 GTR (under 15 year rule, would probably try find a GTSt locally) What is the best way to go about this? I would be after the one that's the most fun, easiest to work on, easiest to get running a low 13/high 12 quarter reliably, and the one thats easiest to toodle around town in. And the one that easiest on fuel. Cheers.
