from what ive heard, the control arm lengths, shortest to longest, with extra length measured in relation to the s13 arm are:
s13
r32gtst +2mm
s14 +10mm
s15 +25mm
not sure about the rest. does anyone know, and can verify these lengths?
thanks

thanks for the replies. mexico is quite far away! (or u mean melbourne)
im actually going to be using the control arms on an s13. i have an s14 control arm on one side, looking for another one is proving difficult. hence why im looking for alternatives. id prefer the extra 10mm track or so the 14 arm gives.
do you have pics of your arms r33 racer?
-
i heard that the r32 is 2mm longer than the s13. and s14(which i am using now is 10mm longer than the s13 arm.
the r33 arm is longer or shorter? or just wont bolt up at all?
thanks skylinecoupe

Hi,
Wondering if anyone could help me out with some info.
Could anyone confirm for me the length of r32 and r33 front lower control arms, and whether they are identical to an s14 control arm?
Or could anyone post up pics of r32, r33 control arms?
Cheers guys
Thanks in advance.

S13 struts can be redrilled, if done properly, its safe. Its common practice to do so as the s14. s15 struts are longer. You can either use a 14mm drill bit or a 9/16".
If you can find them seperately, its possible to just press out the ball joints for the knuckles, and use the matching ball joints, as said before s14/15 are different.
You will need the new master with the 32 rear brakes, and possibly a new booster, although it might not be worth the hassle, what has the ceffy got on the rear atm?

the knuckle to arm bolts are quite tough, try taking the whole thing knuckle and arm assembly off by undoing the bolts nearer to the driveshaft(further underneath the car).
hope that makes sense mate.
cheers
-
just to add when the hub and knuckle are both off the car, its probably easiest to seperate them by undoing the 4 bolts slightly and giving them a tap with a hammer, as they are normally quite hard to come apart.
-
remove the large nut, it should be around 32-36mm, u will most probably need to soak it in WD or similar, and use a breaker bar. also on the back of the hub there are 4 bolts, u will also need to remove these. i normally take the whole hub and knuckle assembly off via the suspension links, its just easier to seperate the hub and knuckle this way, but remember to crack the large nut first.
good luck B)
