mmmm OK do you have these and how much are they worth?
-
Hi Chris
In short no - got my local Alpine dealer to install.
-
Hi Guys
I replaced my Bose head deck with an Alpine one and all is working well. The subwoofer is not run off the RCA'a coming out of the head deck.
I have noticed that the subwoofer is hardly noticable.
Have others had this issue and what have you done about it? Do I need to replace the sub? Run a separate amp? or both?

Hey Ravi
Think I still have mine if you want it! Don't think I threw it out yet.

When I was mucking around with mine I did consider a VQ30DET conversion. Decided to not go that way at the time, however, think it would be worth considering in future. Can pick up VQ30DET's for under $2000. Would have to look at sensor compatability......

Hi guys
The wife had a little incident in the V today!

I agree with VQ30DET, keep it nissan and apparrently the standard bottom end can take big KWs. They are quite cheap to pick up. The gearbox could be an issue as the VQ 6 speed (ie 350Z) is said not to be too fragile, most people use the 300zx box with a bellhousing mod. I would love to do this mod on something!
-
Wtih the Blatz, can you see anything other than the ecu? body control module, transmission control module (auto).....
-
It could be possible.
Can you explain exactly what you are thinking of doing and why?
Unless yours has died, it is not likely to be worth the trouble/risk.
Think the 2001 300GT will be closely related to the 350GT sedan (8 speed auto), with a type 1 engine computer.
If you wanted to install a NISMO one, it is likely to be for a vehicle with a type 2 engine computer. If this is the case, the engine warning light is wired differently. Type 1 is wired directly, where as, type 2 is communicated through the CAN system.
There are other differences you need to consider, that can impact, VDC and Navigation to name a few.
Hope this helps

Sounds like a very good result, well done!

Had a bit of a look around and found one on Japanese Yahoo with the same numbers as yours, current price $98 (AUS) +++
Controller Assy BCM
Item turn: 284B1-AC000
Price 18700 Yen
Have a look at this site;
http://page5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/e101012295
Or you can go through import monster, who can buy it for you and send it to you;
http://www.importmonster.com.au/view?url=h...g&title=V35
There will be some risk in this so you would need to weigh it up. Replacing the BCM would mean you would have to reset your ecu and keys to the new one, not sure what else.
Hope this is useful

so is it a V35 or a G35? VQ35DE? manual or auto? LHD or RHD?
-
If you want to be totally sure, you could jack up the rear of your car, make alignment marks on the diff input and outputs then turn the input until you have turned the outputs 1 turn, should be 3.3 turns (as opposed to 3.5 for manual). From my experience you would be doing nearly 3000 revs at 110 with a 3.5 ratio diff and an auto. Hope this helps.
-
Would say you have a 3.36 auto ratio, would not change to manual ratio just because it is a LSD. Different tyre sizes can make a difference also.
-
Good to hear it actully worked, good luck with your rego

Hope this works

Thanks for the corrections guys. When did the 5 speed auto gearboxes change from external computer to internal, 2005 like in the US?
-
Ofcourse there is the obvious, the series 1 350GT-8 sedan (VQ35DE) being an 8 speed cvt auto, with known issues and very expensive oil. Also had paddles for the manual shifts. Post 2005 became a 5 speed auto, same as the coupe.
Also VQ25DETT and VQ30DE variants came with the 4 speed auto box.
Think you can put bigger wheels on the coupe.

If it is major, cheapest would be to find a replacement engine.
Lots of wrecked 350Zs around.
Guy in Melbourne had a 2006 with 26,000km on it. Have a look at this ebay item 180463507079, had his number but can not find it, has been trying to off load it for some time. Slightly different to earlier models as it will be the rev-up model.
-
Agree you should find out what is wrong first, probably minor. Filter?
Lots of difficulty with the electronics on the VQ30DET conversion. On the V35 they are all tied together through the on board communication system CAN. ie instrument cluster, ABS, body control and power control......

Thanks, Nigel
Sounds very good. Send me a PM.
Thanks for the comments scathing, just thought there was too much risk mucking around with the diff on ebay. Someone else bought it in the end (mmm maybe I alerted them to it). Didn't want to get stuck with another part I don't really need. Anybody after a 6 speed box? haha
-
Thanks for the comments, scathing.
Understand diff ratio will not affect speedo accuracy.
There is a 2006 manual Z33 diff on ebay for $250, would have bought it if it were right. The US guys quote $500 for the parts for a ratio change. Then I would have to get someone to do it (I can install the diff). Probably $1000+
Am looking at buying a low km 2005 Z33 auto diff from a wrecker, which will give me lsd (stop VDC going off all the time), just it is expensive, $800+.
-
They look very similar, particularly the GTR.
Am after the V35 auto ratio of 3.3, which is different to all the R33 and R32 ratios

Thanks for the info, Chris
Not sure which way to go as it is now a bit of a bitza, didn't get a navi instrument cluster from Canada to get the factory cruise working.
Am thinking will just add aftermarket amp and sub.
