  1. Thanks for the response, I was thinking the same way but just wanted some reassurance lol Cheers
  2. Hey all, I'm getting ready to put my RB25 into my car and when I went to pull the oil pan just to inspect its condition and I found the previous person had used that a lot of that annoying red RTV. There was RTV stuck onto the pickup tube strainer as well! Should I be concerned? I didn't see any bad signs of RTV anywhere else in the engine when disassembling and replacing parts (i.e. Timing belt kit, Valve covers, water pump, Intake manifold etc.) but one thing I didn't replace was the oil pump as it looked not as used. I removed the oil pickup tube and cleaned it out really well as well as any excess RTV I found around the mating surface of the oil pan, all seems well around the crank and con rods also. The impatient side of me wants to just put the engine in and start the car but I want to do things the right way when it comes to my build; so I'm asking for experienced advice on what I should do in this situation; any help is appreciated
  3. I'm currently swapping an RB25DET Series 2 into my z32 chassis and I'm working on putting the transmission together and it was missing quite a few components. One of the things that I'm missing is the throw out bearing sleeve and to my knowledge, i know there are different types of sleeves in terms of bearing height (I.e 18mm vs 20mm). Since I am swapping this engine into a z32 chassis, I had to separate both the VG30DE trans and RB25DET trans and swap bellhousings in order for it to work in my car (The Vg transmission being used with the Rb bellhousing bolted to it). My question is what throw out bearing sleeve would I need to order that would fit my transmission? If not, is there a way for me to measure something on the trans to get an idea which one would fit, or find a casting number on the original Rb trans I could take a look at? The person I bought the engine/trans from says its from a 1993 Skyline GTS-T but that may or may not be true, I don't know 100%. I've asked a few websites, that sell different types for the RB, for their opinion and they couldn't really help. Could anyone help point me in the right direction with this? Thanks in advance; any help is appreciated. ~ Here are links to two that may or may not fit my trans that I had already looked at ~ 18mm: https://www.efisolutions.com.au/thrust-bearing-carrier-sleeve-18mm-r32-r33-r34-z33 20mm: https://www.efisolutions.com.au/thrust-bearing-carrier-sleeve-20mm-r31-r32-r33-r34
