  1. Okey, thank you. Well then i will take a closer look at this ecu. $500 is pretty cheap compared to a new one.
  2. Okey. so how far can you go on these Rb26 engines safetly? Stock head and bottom. ( There are new rods, pisonts ( eagle and cp), crankcollar etc but do not want to push anything. I talked to a tuner who told me that these turbos Gt2860-R are great for street use and have fast spool on lower boost. I guess i could run these anyway and go for a bit more power then. I have a link G4 ecu from a R33 GT-R, this one should work? I talked to link but they couldnt confirm it, so i checked the pinouts with the link g4 software which only have a general pinout label for GT-Rs so i belive they are the same for r32 and r33..
  3. I will try to change them to a smaller refurbished or new ones from a local store or something. It's a bit stupid to run this big turbos when im only want to run factory power.
  4. well, i guess if i run with these turbos on 1.5bar i will have other problems.. like the fuel system as someone mentioned.
  5. I dont know why the HKS turbos were changed. I guess he changed them since he just wanted to make sure everything was new and that there would be no more issues like turbo fail.
  6. They guy who bought the car in first place had issues with the engine. The seller had told him that there were no oil restrictors to the turbos and they had too much oil and that caused oil leak and other issues. But we found out that the engine was bad. The engine had alot of crankcase vent. I helped this guy to do some leakdown tests etc and we found out that the compression were bad. So i helped him to get the engine out and we saw that the engine was bad. Bought new bearings, pistons, crankcollar, rods etc and got the engine completly rebuild and also he bought these 2 new turbos (Gt2860-5). After this the car was just sitting for a few years until now when i bought it from him. I dont know if the HKS turbos are bad or not. They probably had to much oil cause there were no oil restrictor as recommended but they were running on low boost until we found out that the engine was bad. There are not much play in them but i dont know what the limit are for these. Maybe some cleaning would be enough. I could send them to someone so they could check them for me. But these turbos should work good on standard injectors, fuel pump etc? I will try to fix an aftermarket ecu.
  7. So i guess i have to ask now. What do you recommend? Sell these turbos and put the old ones gt25 back? Since i dont have an ecu now and i will send the r33 ecu back i guess i will get an older version of LINK G4 or something
  8. Yeah, i confirmed its -5. So running standard boost and standard power with stock injectors and pump on these wont be an option? F##k me I have the 2 old one still here. 2 hks turbos i belive are gt25, cant find anything about them and the identification label are hard to read. Maybe sell the -5 new turbos and send these ones in for rebuild and fit them instead?
  9. Garrett 836026-5005S, GT2860R Turbo. Rated for 250-360hk, but i will double check this. aftermarket ecu will be the way to go anyway, it feels like there is to many gray zones here
  10. Thank you. I bought thus GTR just because i wanted to do a full maintenance on it. The engine is new built first of all. But i also have an s15 which i have done a fully built sr20, whole chassie/every single bolt and part except inner roof has been removed. Im soon done with my s15 and trying to keep the GTR as stock as possible and make it like new again. Thats why i wanted a stock ecu. My s15 is everything but stock haha

From Nistune: This document has your answers: http://nistune.com/docs/Nistune%20GTR%20ECU%20options.pdf There is no difference between R32/R33 GTR apart from the O2 sensor heater (which needs no change if using R33 GTR ECU) and the sensor voltages. You may need to run a zirconia sensor if you find your cruise mixtures are not stoich (or disconnect the sensor and not use closed loop)
  13. Oh god.. this is why i never used to belive or buy stuff from the shops were i live. Previous owner bought the turbos just because he did not want to buy an aftermarket ecu atm. From what i know, they told him that the turbos were interchangeble, it was just a newer model. And the ecu......... the guy who sold me this one ownes a tuning shop so i thought that he would have some knowledge about this. My previous experience with other car builds told me to double check the circuit board which i did luckily enough. I dont know if a change of o2 sensors and re-pin of cirxuit board is a good idea when you got a new built engine... maybe should consider a aftermarket ecu
  14. Hi, creating a new topic regarding the ecu. I received an ECU ( MEC-R580D) which i belive is from an R33. I dont know if its from GTST or GT-R. I bought this ecu because i need one in my R32 GT-R, and now im looking for information if they are interchangeble? I read on Nistune that R32 Ecu in R33 need some modifications. The only information i got was that that this ecu i received came from r32 GT-R but seems like something isnt right here.
  15. I received an ECU now. The guy who sold it to me told me he picked it from his R32 GT-R but it says MEC-580D on the circuit board.. Which is from a R33. I dont believe that they are 100% interchangeble and feel that this guy could f##k things up for me?
  16. A guy had an oem ecu which i bought from him. He had it in his R32 GT-R, but when i recieved it i saw that its was from a R33. I dont know if they are 100% interchangeble without any modification? I think there are 2 different 02 sensors
  17. yeah, the turbos are GARRETT GT2860R, which is pretty much stock turbos i belive. Thats why i went for them. (ballbearing)

  20. Probably not. Are the OEM ecu okay to drive with today on a stock car? The boost restrictor may be removed
  21. How is the OEM ECU to drive in Europe? Is it more safe to drive with the standard ecu than mine's?
  22. I went on motul and liquid molly for the whole car haha. Thanks alot for all your support. The manual confused me a bit but sort it out and found good oil for the car
  23. I need a new oem ecu in my 1991/08 r32 gtr. What differences are there between the oem ecu part numbers? Mine suppose to have oen ecu with partnumber ending on *****60, but i found on that ends on *****62 and 61. They are from other model year. I dont know if they are interchangeble. I cant afford aftermarket ecu atm, will go for one in future instead. The parts catalogue dont tell me that they are interchangeble which worries me.
  24. Hi. New to the GT-R Skyline game so i would be happy to hear tips from you guys with experience. First of all, the oil game. What is recommended/what works? Its for diff and gearbox
