  3. cam's (boostmeister) old r32 used to have a bit of a following on here - i brought the car late last year and i thought i might just drop a bit of an update. played around a bit with engine tuning to better suit the fuel available to me (up in hervey bay, only 95RON not 98RON). This entailed running slightly bigger injectors as well. turbo is now a custom ray hall turbofast item, pretty much the same as the old vg30 t3 except the ceramic wheel has been replaced with steel for reliabilitys sake when boosting big psi. note the engine internals are still stock! i love you nissan! I imported an R33 RB26DETT GT-R halfcut to throw in it (which wouldve made the car mental) but i got a great offer on the half cut so instead i flogged it off. the rb26dett is now sitting in a deadly vl which will no doubt be terrorising drag strips near you soon! after learning how to drive a manual again (after spending a few years driving automatic commodores) took it to a few test n tunes, best ET is now a 12.9 on the strip (tuned for 98RON + additives) and a 12.7 using a g-tech (which is probably way off anyways). For drag racing im not sure the gear/diff ratio matches are perfect, lose alot of speed when going into second. However, the soft (factory) suspension typically sees it leave many similarily powered skylines for dead as it really grips and goes off the line. if i was really serious I would need to swap the 18's on the rear for a smaller diameter rim. However a lack of grip was still my undoing, with a simple 'chirp' from first into second earning me a hooning charge thanks to the local neighbourhood career-driven self-important policeman (dont get me wrong ive got nothing against most police, just a few in particular). I'm currently sitting out a licence suspension which currently sees the R32 without its intercooling piping - whatever grade steel was used for the original pipes were absolutely crap and rusted away. Havent decided yet wether to just clean up the rust then treat the steel or get some better piping made up. Thats one of my two bitches about the car... The other one was the quality of the RCA leads for the stereo.... what a shocker. not the end of the world thou ay Other minor things that have gone wrong but easily been fixed have been the death of the clutch master cylinder & the front right indicator big bulb (twice!!). All in all, to Cam, thanks for a great car mate, i'm having a hoot, and to all the guys on here who helped him with it, a big thankyou as well. im planing on taking the car to brissy auto salon this year so might see some of you guys then otherwise ill post an update in another decade or so cheers, dave
  4. and here i am, the sucker that brought cams car! j/k its goin quite well and am enjoying it to introduce myself, i come from the other side of the fence, previously owning aussie car. My last car was a supercharged vt ss commy, and before that a vh group 3 brock commy, and before that nothing worth mentioning. A few of my mates got into the import scene a few years ago, and having driven thier cars, when it came time to replace the vt (which is now a piece of mangled metal in a wreckers yard, ooops) i decided to go for a skyline, and cams pretty much fit exactly what i was after. so theres the story. Good luck with the mu cam, i can see it runnin 11s quarters before the end of next year
