  1. I had a 180sx which had a light taping noise very much like you are describing after lots of looking and listening I eventually did a compression test and found it was cracked ring lands on the rear cylinder. It was hardly noticable aside from a slight drop in boost and the idle was a tiny bit rough- just a smidge.

I hope it isn't that in your case-good luck with it.

    Cheers.

  2. You felt a 'kick' from the R32 as you had a turbo that was a tad laggy.

So it ramped up onto boost differently.

The GTR is stock, whilst they are not slow in stock form, they arent exactly a rocketship either.

I suggest taking the car to a performance mechanic and have them inspect the car if you are unsure of it.

Agreed any car with stock boost generally delivers power in a very linear fashion.

Dont take it out and thrash it, if there is a problem you will only make it worse- get it checked out by someone that knows gtr's and can check the tune as in the AFR's.

at least then you can drive your new car knowing its all good.

  3. Just an update-

I am dropping the price to $24500

The car has done a 12.1 Qtr mile time at WSID . I have just had frount brakes machined and Bendix ultimate pads fitted, also new platinum spark plugs fitted 3 weeks ago.

The car is running like a dream.

I have had 1 person actually come and see the vehicle since it has been for sale. If you are in the market for a Skyline you really should see this car you will not be dissapointed.

  4. Yeah a Friend of mine had the qfm pads on his modified WRX and we were at a track day they seemed to go really well. He was happy.

I think those guys can make a number of different compounds for their pads depending on the application.

My friend's were just the standard sort of pad they offer.

    They are cheap too.

let us know how you go... no great loss if they are no good I guess.

  5. It will be fine, if it is on the H level then that is spot on.

Dont forget the oil filter will use a little oil to fill it when it is being replaced.

I actually over fill my oil by about 300mls every time- may help with oil surging I figure.

You will only get problems if you really over fill Her.

    Cheers.

  6. GTS-4 with a GTR engine.

any work done to the engine?

    engineered?

reciepts for engine/conversion? who did it?

The engine is stock aside from cam gears

I have done a compression test on it and got 165psi across all cylinders

not sure who did the conversion as it was done 2 owners before me.

    Cheers
