  7. 12 is quite safe for the standard turbo, but the intercooler will definitely help with intake temps and subsequently performance. I got a dyno proven 30hp at the wheels just from putting a bigger intercooler on my car. 14psi is near the limit, however that bit extra boost will see you hitting the standard boost but (which is about 13psi i think)
  8. As slide said, someone may have put a shift kit in your replacement box that you dont know about. I had the auto (which has since been changed to manual cos thats what I prefer), and I used to drive it like a manual with no problems at all. I have seen some autos drive a bit funny if they are low on fluid, they sort of wind up and then smack into gear all of a sudden.... make sure it has enough in it. If all else fails, drive it like a manual and if it breaks, I still have my auto box in the shed for sale...
  9. No, this happens to me on a semi-regular basis, although not so much anymore as I only drive my car on weekends now. Ciggies, and other general bits of rubbish get lofted out of jealous ba$tards cars... Someone should design a front bumper out of a wheelie bin, they'd make a fortune...
  10. yeah man I have put one on my car, I think I have pics somewhere.... you will need to do some cutting of the bumper support. I dont know about the bumper itself as I put an aftermarket one on at the same time. PM me with your email address and I will send them on... if I can find them that is :-) Just saw the pics in this thread, it'll give you an idea of how to trim your bumper support - especially the second pic... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=59587
  11. I need to install an ashtray on the front of my car for the number of cigarette butts that get flicked out at my car, usually from rednecks in clapped out 253 powered vh commonwhores.
  12. Hey, I dont know if you can get them or not, but the easiest way would be to just send out an email to any performance parts supplier and ask..... This should get you started [email protected] http://www.uniqueautosports.com.au/uasform5.asp
  13. Just regarding the big BOV sh!te fight that seems to be going on.... Correct me if I am wrong (which I may well be) I was under the impression that the purposes of a blowoff valve were: 1. By releasing the manifold pressure either to atmo or back to the intake before the turbo, it prevented the pressurised air rushing back past the compressor wheel, slowing down the compressor wheel when the throttle is lifted. I imagine the result of this would be that the turbo would get back on boost quicker after a gear change due to the turbo spinning faster than it would have been if the pressurised air had all gone back out thru the turbo. 2. Since most braking systems that I have seen rely on vacuum from the motor, I would have thought that a BOV would help get the manifold back to a vacuum quicker, which would benefit for hard braking, say when you lift the throttle off? As I said before, correct me if I am wrong. I dont profess to know everything.
  14. Hi, I converted my R33 from auto to manual a while ago, and since I did it, my speedo has been reading just under half of what it should be, ie at 80 it says around 40 etc.. I am guessing this is because the senders are different? Obviously the auto sender wont fit in the manual gearbox, so I am screwed there... I have been asking a few of the local gearbox shops around town, but I have had no luck as yet, because frankly, they seem to be a bunch of w@nkers who just dont want to know about it. Out of frustration I have bought a speedo corrector from here (see link below) http://www1.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?...eMax=&SUBCATID= however hooking it up to either of the 2 wires that come from the sender on the gearbox does not work... I am guessing I will need to install the speedo corrector on the wire that goes from the ECU to the gauge, but then my HICAS etc will still be out as the ECU will think I am doing half my actual speed even though the gauge is reading correctly. I would prefer not to do this if at all possible. Can anyone shed some light on this, or has anyone done this before? I am at my wits end and I'm about to go kick the neighbours dog out of sheer frustration, or possibly cos I am too stupid to work this out.... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated....
