  1. bit late but.......im from newy too. used to go in most weekends. have no licence for 6 mnths tho, get mates to drive it tho. its a midnight blue GTS-4 .... i havent seen any other GTS-4's aswell. anyone go in there that has one? send me a wave if ya see me in there... i'll be in the passenger seat for a while..hehe.
  2. morning all, I have a mate that just got done for the same thing. the cop said that he was gettin fined $200 because the aftermarket exhaust wouldnt work aswell as the stock one (emissions wise)....and that was it. he is also taking it to court and said he shouldnt have too much trouble gettin off it. i'll keep you updated on what happens.
  3. sounds good...i'll be up for that. granted ive lost my licence but i can let one of my trusty mates take my wheels for a spin.
  4. leak from the turbo??? doesnt sound too good. hehe...i could be gassin myself unintentionally. i only ever notice it after the car has been running for a while. it was doin it all the way home cruisin the freeway at about 2800rpm my car doesnt really hit boost til 3000rpm. it is more of a misty smoke and doesnt smell.......so wouldnt it smell if it was a leak from exhaust or turbo???...
  5. mornin all. Went to get interior work done the other day. Had to leave the parts there for guy to do. i have the center console section(gearboot and handbrake taken off aswell as door trims). On my drive home i noticed that there was a fair bit of smoke coming out from the gearstick. It doesnt really smell at all and isnt thick. ive noticed it a little bit before on occasions, but i thought it must just be some oil on the gearbox or something. Its just that there was so much of it the entire way home. Any ideas wht it could be??
  6. personally id never bag a skyline.....just think it'd look wrong. also i had a mate that ended up bagg'n his car ( 93' hyundai s-coupe ) he cops a flogg'n off most ppl for it but when he got them the guy that wrote him out the quote f*#@d it up and he ended up gettin the full system fitted, including custom struts and PS1 controller for da controls for $2400........a few weeks after it all he found out the guys that quoted him was fired...hehe, funny story i thought.
  7. that is basically what i was talking about. coming to a stop at lights and intersections. Where im from, there are a few hills leading to intersections and i usually throw it into neutral. i knew it was bad for autos...thats why i was wondering. But point taken about the safety issues. cheers.
  8. morning all, my little bro has recently got his licence in a manual and when i was drivin with him the other day he informed me that i shouldnt be rolling or "coasting" as he said in neutral down hills. Apparently his driving instructor has told him that it isnt just bad when gettin tested but also it is just plain bad for the gearbox..... is this just something to make him not do it or can it actually do something to the gearbox.... i cant see how it could. ??????? .....Cheers.....
  9. yeah i have a GTS-4 and it has the ABS unit above the turbocharger heat shield, but by the way they worded it in the magazine it sounded like it was different to the 'usual' ABS unit. i didnt know that some R32's came without it. so that must be it. yay for me that i have it i spose. and im thinking you would be able to adapt or plug in the unit as mine has it......but then again it does have a few similarities to the GTR that the GTS-t doesnt. so basically i have no idea. maybe i should shutup before looking too stupid...
  10. morning all, I was reading up the other day on a modded R32 GTS-t, and it mentioned something about a "quick response" ABS system that was highly sought after by R32 drivers, apparently appearing similar to the normal system aswell. Has anyone got this?, and how can i tell if its in my car! What are the benefits and if i was looking for it is it overly priced due to availability???
  11. morning all, On the weekend i ended up bottoming out my skyline resulting in my clutch dropping to the floor. From what i can tell ive only split one hydraulic line for the clutch but ive bent the black box that all my lines run into aswell. Do i need to track down all new lines and box or just 1 new line for the clutch. the box is located just below the handbrake. ive included pics below. hopefully ive loaded them right.
  12. im from newcastle aswell, the cars lookin alot better now. nice job. skirts look sweet, undecided bout the pods. dont love them but dont hate them.
  13. But what about if the dump pipe is 4" and then 3" the rest of the way back. has anyone done this, or know of someone thats has.would it be better for flow straight off the turbo?
  14. The R32 GTS4 is a poor mans GTR.....i own one lol. but they are a great car. I had trouble actually finding one in decent condition. took months. but ended up finding an old guy in Victoria that was too over his mid life crisis and sold it with 74,000kms. the R32 is also the only model were a switch can be hooked up to change between 4WD and RWD.great for having a bit of fun drifting or extra launch for racing.
  15. Hi all, Im putting an exhaust on my R32 in the next few weeks. so far ive been told that 3" straight through is what most people do, but a few have said to go with a 4" dump off the turbo into 3"straight through. Would 4" fit, or even be a benefit at all?????
