  1. Ah righto, well i have the shaft out, just that last bit that bolts to the diff housing. But i didnt realise it had a clip in it. but just seems it still wont make it out ay. Ill have another look. Dont really wanna go to the extent of taking the diff cover off haha. Thanks for the reply

    Cheers

Pull the shaft using a slide hammer.

When I pulled my engine, I just pulled the front diff cover off and levered the center of the shaft in the diff center.

It's held in with a round wire retaining clip that compresses when the shaft is popped out through the spline of the diff.

    Hope that helps :worship:

  2. Does anyone know how to get this out? Ive got most of it out, just the part that bolts into the front diff seems to be hitting out on the cross member or what ever it is? seems there is a bolt you can undo but im not sure if this would be wise? I was thinking that maybe i just fit the boot with this still attatched to the diff?? I dunno, id prefer to get the whole lot out. But if someone can point me in the right direction that would be great! Cheers

  4. I had a stuff around with my car today and yeah cant find the problem. the hicas fluid was low but yeah the light is still on. so maybe its just a faulty door thing. I noticed when i turned the interior light on an off a couple times itd go off. but that stoped working. If ya find the problem let us know

    Cheers

  5. I have the same problem but havent fixed it. waiting on a new clutch. mines been stuffed for about 2 years haha. I bought the switch 2 years ago an i think it was like 70 bucks or so. But i was talking to this mechanic in brisbane who seemed to know alot about GTRS and he told me that sometimes it can be a neutral-first switch..?? i dont actually understand that but thats what he told me. Aparently revs are ment to change from neutral into first (not much) and sometimes if this goes the reverse light doesnt work. But yeah seems strange to me. But how you just said to do it with a socket is how he told me to do it. But i think youll just have to make it yourself. anyway goodluck

  6. Im going to swap my 32 RB26 engine out and i want to put a 34 in. I know they are the same engines but im just wondering about are the sensors the same and all that? Is it pretty straight forward to swap? I figured if i pull all the old stuff off my current engine and put it onto the 34 rb26 i should be right. If anyone has done it some advice would be much appreciated!

    Cheers

  7. N1s are better and so far cheaper but they are only better if the crank shaft is pulled out and machined to fit the collet. i have a early model 32 and want to get out of it cheaply ha. but im looking towards a rebuild anyway

  8. I called nissan up today to get a standard R32 GTR oil pump and they quoted $624 and you can get a N1 for cheaper including the collet. Im just wondering is all RB oil pumps the same and if i called up and asked for say a VL RB30 oil pump would it be half the price?

    Cheers

  9. Im doin a major service on my GTR and need a standard oil pump and water pump. Does anyone know where i can get them from for a good price? was going to try nissan but i thought i'd try here. I dont want a N1 oil pump at all. just the standard one. Would take a N1 water pump for a good price. Also need a radiator shroud since the cops booked me for not having one. ha.

    Cheers

  10. Hey i have one laying around. It works but its not in the best nick. i put some cut out white dials on it last year or so and it interfeared with the needles. If you pulled them off i guess it would work fine. i think it had around 9**** somthing or other on the kms

  11. Righto so ive got the impression that my pump isnt working. Although as far as i know the engine hasnt seized up and its not making any nocking noises yet. So im wondering has anyone changed the oil pump on there car or payed someone to do it and how much did it cost? I would probably rather myself do it because there isnt really many machenics i would trust where i live, but if its a straight forward job id pay someone to do it over myself doing it. My mate said i would have to pull the engine out... but i dunno, if i had to go to that much trouble i would just buy another engine or rebuild it anyway. Ive had a look at some diagrams of the RB26 yeah yeah it doesnt look easy. hope someone can help

    Cheers

  12. for your sake i hope its just sender problem but it is common thing for the oil pump to fail on that model. Mine was probably only on for 15 seconds before i noticed and found it did alot of damage after i pulled it down. But i was up it when it hapened.

Yeah i was sitting in the garage and noticed it. But i was lookin at the dial not long before that and didnt notice anything. The engine sounded fine, but i shut it off straight away. I am hoping it is a sender problem, but yeah. Kinda a bummer i guess.

  13. Thanks for the replies. Im not sure how long the light was on, i dont think it was on for long at all otherwise i would have noticed it. Im just wondering is the main reason for no oil pressure be the oil pump failing? Because i can just buy another one and put that in? Or is there some other reasons i should also look at. Because the engine sounded fine no death rattles or anything. Im going to wait til its cold then start it and see if there is pressure. Thanks

    Cheers

  14. I just took my car for a bit of a thrash and when i got home i noticed the oil pressure light was on, but the oil level was fine and the engine didnt have any bad noises or anything. I was thinking that the gauge might be stuffed because it was the factory one, or maybe the oil pump is stuffed and i turned the car off in time but yeah i dunno. I dont really trust the factory guage but yeah has anyone had this problem?

    Cheers
