  1. Hi SRG33. Ive got a decent alarm installed, forget the place that did it though - will try to look it up for you. 3 point immobilisation, black wires, professional install, the remote control changes its security code every time the button is pressed for security, they even installed a central locking solenoid in the passengers door so the alarm button will open both doors on my R33 GTST. Think the alarm place were based in Morabbin ... but they came to my house to install it. In terms of audio, Performance Car Audio in Bayswater might be a good option. Brett down there knows what hes talking about and will do a good job. Might even install your alam for you if you ask.
  2. Between 5 and 6 psi stock under 4500 rpm and 6-7 almost 8psi after 4500 rpm if you have the factory solenoid.
  3. Hi All, I have an R33 GTST series 1, and recently had fitted an aftermarket 3" exhaust system from the turbo back. very happy with the extra power and noise, however theres an issue im having. Because the exhaust is louder, often when changing gears I will hear a loudish POP noise come form the engne ... backfire i assume? However thats not my issue .. i dont mind it so much - i can lvie with the odd pop sound ... the issue is, often when accellerating hard (in say second gear) when the car gets to 4000+ rpm it will often either .... start to backfire and loose power/boost ... OR it will continue to boost/accelerate, but with constant popping/banging noises throught the revs until I change gears again. Can anyone suggest what needs to be done to have this fixed? I dont know a lot about engines. Im guessing perhaps just a good tune from a performance shop? Any help would be apreciated - Thanks
  4. Hi All, Just wanted some experienced people's opinions ... recently installed an after market boost gauge ... i connected the vaccume/pressure hose to the hose coming off the top of the after market boost gauge .... gauge seems to work fine is giving correct (to my understanding) readings ..... is this a good place or a bad place? am i going to have problems down the track with this setup? thanks.
  5. I have just recently put an all-in-one 3" dump and front pipe on my S1 R33 GTST ... followed by a hi-flo cat and 3" back to the cannon style stainless muffler. Very happy ... huge power increase, has a nice note to it.... quite loud.
  6. Good stuff - thanks guys. Am I correct in assuming the stock front bar will have to be cut back a bit to fit the intercooler behind? Anyone have a big front-mount with the stock S1 fton bar can share your experience? Cheers!
  7. Hi All, Apologies if this has been discussed inside and out in the past - I did do a search but couldnt find much .. Im considering putting an aftermarket front-mount intercooler on my S1 R33 GTS-T .. however there are so any different sizes of coolers out there im unsire of which would be best. At the moment i just ave the stock front bar on the car (which I assume will need to be sut back a little?) but will have an aftermarket front bar installed a little later. Any recommendations for the SIZE of the intercooler to use? Im using the stock turbo , will be running 10-11 PSI, 3in exhaust. Just want something ample .. not overly large, but something that will cool well and do the job. Thanks all.
  8. Thanks guys ... might do some ringing round
  9. Hi All, Some stupid fkn c*nt has stolen the red/white GT badges off both sides of my R33 GTST. Brings a tear to your eye .... Ive had a look throught the forum and ive seen a few performance companies that might stock these, but does anyone know a place in Melb who would have them cheap? Or anyone have a couple theyre willing to flog? Any assistance would be greatly apreciated Cheers, Jim.
  10. If anything it may help vent some of the hot air before the inlet valves and stop unwanted back-pressure,
  11. Is your BOV an after market BOV? If so, generally just twisting the big coloured bit on the top ... usually blue or purple ... in the direction that says "loosen" on the top .. will loosen the spring to make it open at lower boost. If it doesnt tell you which wat to turn it ... the instructions will ... failing that just test it ... try twisting one way, then try another way.... I can check mine tonight if you want, most will twist the same way. Do you know the brand/model of the BOV? immortal.
  12. Hi All, Have an R33 Series 1 GTST ... considering changing the stock grey 'carpet/velure' trim in the doors ... has anyone had experience doing this before or know anyone who has? I assume its as simple as taking the door and poping out that 'bit' that holds the trim in and simple replace it with some staples/material glue on the back ? Any advise would be apreciated
  13. Hi bangahh ... Pain in the ass isnt it ... although ive it to it a stage now where it doesnt really shudder as in boost on, off, on etc at high rpm .. it just doesnt give any more boost at anything past say 4-5k rpm ....
  14. Hi, Thanks for your assistance guys ... any more hits/tips would be apreciated. I might try a few things, including putting an after-marker guage on to see exact boost. Can someone tell me ... what boost/psi can a stock r33 run (generally) before its getting a bit too high ? 10psi? 12psi? 14psi ? All its got is pod filter, BOV and GFB adjustable boost. I dont wana go too high and blow it.
  15. Hi All, I had a good search through the forums but wasnt able to find anything that would help much, hoping you experts might be able to shed some light on whats going on. Yesterday I bought a GFB adjustable boost valve. I have a 93 R33 GTST which has a factory electronic boost controller, that seems to boost the turbo from about 5psi to about 7psi once the engine hits about 4500rpm ... To install the after market valve/controller, i disconnected the factory electronic controller (solenoid), blocked off the hose that vented pressure back into the air inlet, and connected the after market controller between the two hoses that USED to go into the factry electronic controller (i assume the bleed valve around the wastegate?)...... Firstly ... im hoping this is correct. (i can get some pictures posted up if your note sure what I mean). Anyway, I wound the valve right down to the lowest setting (supposedly factory boost for the turbo) and gave the car a run .... no problems driving the car normally, however when I start to nail it a bit in second and sometimes third .. when the car reaches about 4000-5000rpm, the boost suddenly skyroockets on the guage, however i loose boost to the engine, and thre car starts to jolt like boost is coming on, off, on, off, on .. etc etc ... almost like its reached peak boost? or not enough air in? no idea!! Can anyone help with this? I dont have much experience with moddng engines, though I did have a friend helping who knew a fair bit about it, but its got him stumpped too. I tried it both with the factory controller connected to power, and disconnected from power (thinking it may have been an ECU thing?) .. still no good. Any help would be greatly apreciated. Thanks
