WOW.  That is significantly different to anything I've seen before.

That whole insert will make it difficult to make yours work the same as everone elses.  The top of it is much higher than the others.....

    hmmmm.

    BJ,

If this is going to cause you some issues in designing a 'generic' to suit the majority feel free to delete me from the list. We do not need to up the price to satisfy the minority. I am sure that I can do my own - I was beeing a little lazy getting it done as part of the group buy.

  2. Hey ppls.

After a successful group buy a while ago, I would like to new give the Stagea ppls a chance to purchase some high quality Radiator Air Deflectors.

I make them from CNC routed air craft grade 1.0mm aluminum sheet.

Price will be advised.  The R34 GTT guides were $80 plus freight, but I think I might try to include the scoop that SK made in his.  This will add to the price, not sure how much yet.

    I'll give two options.

    Budget also for $20 freight.

    So, Who's interested?

I will make up a smaple and post pictures of the ducts on a car (somebody please volunteer to supply their car for fitting) and off a car.

Please register your interest so I can work out pricing when the time comes.

    BASS OUT

If it fits the Series II - count me in.

  3. Carbon Fibre = expensive.

You have to make up a mold and then lay on the CF and it takes time to set and blah blah blah.

    Uber pricey

Question Time. Will this unit fit the Series II, and what about something in black (plastic?) similar to what EMANUELT has made up?

  4. almost every bald middle aged man in his "oh crap im having a mid life crisis, i need a sports car but the wife will shoot me if i buy something impartical GET OVER IT!!!!

What if he happens to be driving a "practical" SII Stagea and tends to upset people at the lights - because station wagons are not supposed to be quick!

Maybe I need to grow some hair.

  5. Dunlop SP3000A Silica Tyres - Anyone used them?  I just bought a set (yet to go on the car)

Currently running them on my wife's BA Turbo. Tyre was originally designed as the OE fitment for this car. Has been accepted to be an above average tyre by the general public and as such now readily available in other sizes. I have personally found them to suit the BA very well - better than other more expensive options.

My personal preference is the Goodyear REVSPEC RS-02, currently fitted to my SII Stagea (235/40R18). A little expensive when compared with its competitors, but I do not place price on safety.

The last couple of weeks in Canberra we have had some rather terrible wet weather and these tyres loved it - especially with AWD.

Neither vehicle has seen any track work therefore I have no comment to offer in that regard.

  6. That's a good result, well done for a first time effort at tuning.  Can you please post up your load point corrections.  It will be a helpful reference.

I think you may have achieved more than the graph shows, with no intercooler it was probably heating up the inlet airflow after 4 power runs.  This would have dropped the last run's power reading.

Since I added the adjustable exhaust camshaft pulley (4 degrees retarded) the Stagea has been hitting the ECU R&R (softly) at around 3,500 rpm.  This would be due to the extra airflow sensed by the AFM.  So last night I popped in a few extra  corrections around load point 80/85, not much just a couple here or there to see if it stopped the pesky ECU going R&R.

The big news is I bought an Apexi SITC today, so I can have a go at changing the ignition timing independantly.

    sitc.jpg

So the Stagea is going to have a glove box full of piggy backs:cheers:

PS; should I start a new thread for the SITC install and tuning?  Or carry on with it in this thread?

    Gary,

I would strongly recommend a new thread.

The reason being that you are extremely accurate and concise in your work and I am assuming this 'project' will generate as much interest as the JAYCAR project.

Just imagine how long this thread would become, let alone trying to find a specific piece of info within.

  7. nah 15 year old girls are tues....and they're allm mine :O

Spotted a green SI Stagea turning right into Ogilby Cres Page @ 2.00pm today.

A bit of a rare sighting - only 2 x Stags in the Belconnen area, mine and Leshy's.

  8. Looking to buy an air box for a SII Stagea. Maybe late? Skyline will satisfy requirement. If non-Stagea air box would prefer Canberra region for trial fit. Thanks.

  10. Yep, getting pretty rare here now..  I wanted to catch up with you and Term' for a few pics before I sold her, but it happend way too quick :P

Maybe in a few years you'll see me in a 260r

    J

When I sought out the SII, will give you a 'heads up' and you can have a drive - just to realise what you are missing out on.

  11. G'day Marc,

Yep, Andrew is right, it's off to Tassie   I was expecting it to take about 3-4 months to sell but it was snapped up in just under two weeks from when I put the for sale post up !!  It had a full NRMA inspection on Monday morning, price agreed on Monday night and he flew up on Wed.

Because it went so quick I'm left without a car :P  hence why I'm after a little bomb for a few months.

Thanks Leigh, yep I'll be hanging around the forums for a while, and if you see someone in a heap of crap car wave at you then you know who it'll be :)

    J

Wow - that certainly makes the ACT based STAGS nearly as rare as 3 legged bandicoots.

    Marc2

  12. Spotted :  My Stagea driving down the road without me in it !!  Sold it last night :)  sad to see it go but it'll be looked after well.

So, anyone got a $500 crapbox with rego they wanna sell ?

Congrats - didn't take long. Is it staying in Canberra?

  13. Marc2, whats the name of your tyre store....the whole idea of this thread is to plug your businesses and services.

The thread was designed purely for this reason, If another member can use that service then its a win/win for both parties.

I knew i could be of a huge help to members with answering property questions and giving advice, and with the ammount of members we have here, if eventually one of them knows of a friend who's selling, then thats also an opportunity for me to offer my expertise.

im not as dumb as i look ;@)

    Hi Veilside R33,

Sorry I missed the post yesterday. I own the Discount Tyre Service stores at Belconnen and Gungahlin. I tend to spend most of my time at Belconnen.

If you, or any one, requires any assistance etc ring me (6251 5977).

It is best to speak with me direct.

    Regards,

    Marc

  14. Hi Marc, thanks for the pad info, did you measure the disks?   I usually upgrade to DBA slotted rotors when I change pads the first time, so I was thinking of doing the same to the Stagea:cheers:

    Hi SK,

No I did not measure rotors - I wanted to clear up the pad issue before I took any further steps in relation to rotors, calipers etc.

    Regards,

    Marc2
